CLOSED////////The Coffee Pot is still on and over 3 years. Here we gather as friends with trains.

Just saw some neat structures on the MR site, unusual for them to have much O gauge stuff.

O scale structures
Hillview Volunteer Fire Department. Laser-cut wood kit with tab-and-slot construction; milled clapboard siding; peel-and-stick doors, windows, and trim; hexagonal-type roofing material; and white-metal chimney. 5" x 7" x 9". $89.95. American Model Builders, Inc.

Farmer’s Grain & Stock Co. grain elevator. Laser-cut wood kit with tab-and-slot construction; drive-through bay with ramps; office addition; laser-scribed decking; and simulated metal roofing. Includes laser-cut lettering stencil and full-color farm industry-related signs. 10" x 13" x 17". $149.95. American Model Builders, Inc.

They look real nice, but I’m out of room for structures. [:(]

Evening. John, like the grain elevator. Looks great. Been working on the railroad tonight. It has been MTH KMA night!!! [V] Read all about it in the York thread. Man, when it rains, it pours. Everything MTH seemed to screw up. Probably Lionel tomorrow night. Now just getting to popcorn. Did run several trains [first Post War and then diesels]. Cold tonight and colder tomorrow night. []

BOTH MY DOG AND BEAR HEARD THOSE COMMENTS, YOUR DONE NOW CHIEF.

CLUNK!

I think it passed!

Heading out to the field today to look at some bridges. It is supposed to be 40 degrees. Whoopee! I heard the boys in NE Ohio took on some springtime snow.

Yesterday, I stopped at three LHS to try and buy a bayonet mounted bulb for a Williams Engine. No one had anything. Ideas?? I don’t want to buy a dozen bulbs, just one. It seems silly to mail order something so simple.

See ya down the tracks,

Glad it passed Buckeye. With the tone of your post, I guess it was little, if any, pain. I don’t know the pain personally, but am not looking forward to it either. As to your looking for a bulb, you may have some luck with a auto parts supplier, my dad used to keep some in stock. Of course with the new type cars, they may not have them around any more. The second idea would be to make a little list and order say, brushes, springs, bulbs, etc. for any servicing you will do over the next year or so. I have a parts bin set that I purchased at I believe WalMart. You can have a nice little repair set up going. If it works out, I could send my trains to you…just kidding.

Well, yesterday was a rough one. Started out easy enough, but then these patients just go and get sick at the most inconvenient times…just kidding about that too, there is no good time to get ill. Hopefully we saved a life, patient has a tough road ahead, but if they get through the next day or so, will be OK.

Onto trains, I did some perusing of the CTT main page and checked out some of the sites, they really do have a lot of information available. I suggest folks take the time and see what is there. Well, I better get going.

Hope Y’all have a great day.

Dennis

Good morning from New England!

Buckeye, I would call Williams and ask to speak to the service department. If not mistaken, they recommended using a flashlight bulb as a replacement. Was it Chuck who needed one?

I had a nice chat with my buddy, Keith last night. His knowledge of toy trains always amazes me! Keith, I really do wish you lived closer. I’d love to see your collection. I think I’d be at your house so often, I’d be asked to pay rent! And yes, by all means, I’d be interested in a 1688. Please e-mail or call me. I’ve been watching some on eBay of late. Would like a whole set w/ tinplate cars.

Time for a cup of tea. Have a great day, everyone!

Jim

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It is a cold 26 degrees. Only going up to 40 today, with some snow or rain due tonite. This is some nasty weather.

Today, I have a few errands to run and then work around the house. I may have time to run some trains, later. I hope so.

Buckeye…Have a good trip today. I hope it was a real passing of the stone. Also, go to Radio Shack. I replaced all the bulbs in my engines with brighter bulbs. They have bayonet 6.8, 8, 10, and 12 volt bulbs. They also have the 18 and 20 volt ones. Two bulbs in a package.

I’m going to have some serious grass cutting to do , when this weather gets warmer. Got the side and back cut, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at it.

Dining Car is here and I will have breakfast. Then, send it to " points west " for the Bran Muffin raid.

Y’all have a great Friday.

Chuck

Got back last night from taking the Granddaughters to Florida for spring break. We had a nice time but I’m pretty P.O.'ed about our visit to the Kennedy Space Center. First is the outragous cost, $169+change for the five of us. This is supposed to be an educational facility, sure, probably 3/4 of the US citizens can’t afford it. The worst was the Orwellean security to get in, more than most airports, and this is just to visit displays, you don’t get anywhere near, nor the opportunityto, a secure area.

Had to get that off my chest.[soapbox]

Brrr, cold here, 30’s last night, currently 37.

Good Morning Everyone !! I’m off for the next 3 days & glad !! Still cold here & tired of winter !!

Glad to hears Buckeye’s stones may have passed. I sure hope so !

Well, hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend here !!

Thanks, John

Hey John!

Glad to have you on the forum today! Now don’t go getting me into any trouble so close to Easter. I don’t want the Easter Bunny to forget me!!! [;)]

Jim

Roger,
Do they still do the bus tour out to the old launching areas and out near the shuttle pads?

Was the shuttle on the pad for the launch yet?

Brent

Thanks Jim !! I’ll figure a way to get you involved in some good trouble somehow !! [(-D]

I talked to Keith last night too !! He’s running his new tinplate set tonight at the meeting !! [:)]

You should relocate near us !! [(-D]

Thanks, John

John,

Got an extra bedroom?! [(-D]

I wish I could be there at the meeting tonight. Sounds like fun, and I’d really enjoy seeing Keith’s new set in action. Have fun!

Jim

Morning, all! Chilly and overcast this a.m. What happened to spring?!? Supposed to get down to 28 degrees Easter Sunday. [:(]

Eldest daughter is home for the weekend, flashing her new engagement ring. She’s set the wedding date for June of 2008. I’ve got a funeral to conduct at 11 am, then I’ll spend the rest of the day at the house. Probably won’t get any yard work done unless it warms up some. Grass is growing fast with last week’s rain.

Have a blessed Good Friday and enjoy your Easter weekend! [:)]

I thought CSX only ran on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. HUMMMM

Morning all. Yankee raid in the South. Cold. Got to 31 this morning after sun up. Suppose to be colder tonight. Just like a bunch of Yanks. Trying to spoil our growing flowers and trees. This will not be good on the big strawberry growers. Wife is constantly on the phone with Youngest as Grandson is due Sunday. Glad we have digital phone service so free LD. Now she want sus to hit the raod Sunday right after Early Church and SS. Go to Wilmington and back the same day. BURRR Off to Mom’s down east. Frankie was going but not sure now. He was sick all yesterday afternoon and evening. No wonder I work extra, gas bill.

Morning Everyone,

Pretty chilly here in G’burg today. It is currently 31 degrees. Had snow flurries on the way to work yesterday. May get some more today and Sunday. My folks always talk about a Palm Sunday blizzard in the 50’s or 60’s some time. Hope we don’t have an Easter Blizzard [%-)]

Have to complete local taxes and get them sent in today. Also have a bunch of school work like evaluations, observations, letters of recommendaton to complete. If I get that all done, I want to run some trains this afternoon.

Take care,

Mitch

BUCKEYE,

I had the same problem finding a bulb for the Williams GP-9, took the bulb to local automotive shop and they matched me up with one. Cost was about 50 cents. Hope this helps?

Hi All,

Really sunny spring day in Peterborough. Its a Bank holiday (National Holiday) here today[:)].

We are off on Holiday on Monday…two weeks in the Dominican Republic. Only downside is the 9hr flight. Will keep my eye lifted for any bargains on 60Hz pure sine inverters as the Dom Rep has a big market for these due to power cuts, and has 120V 60Hz power like the States.

Have a good day

Nick

That’s true Chief, but only for in North Carolina !! Seems we can’t get the electric turned on to operate our signals the rest of the days down there !! Too many Siestas !! Plus, the crews refuse to use the tin can & string method now !! [(-D] [(-D] [(-D]

Thanks, John
