What? No comment on the pic of my Torpedo? I think you’re becoming complacent there, buddy! You’ve had to fix so many of those lousy Lionel 1688’s that you don’t recognize a good Torpedo when you see one. [;)] Maybe you should save your money and buy one really good quality K-Line version…and stop playing with those refugees from the WWII scrap drive [;)] [(-D].
Truth be told, every time I see a 1688 I cringe. I gave away a real nice original and kick myself for doing it. [banghead] The new K-Line is only a faint substitute at best. I might have to buy that one off you if Jim turns down another good deal [;)]
Hello All! Bruce- That is a nice Torpedo in your photo. However, it is not a 1688.[;)][;)][:o)][:)] If you want a 1688, I’ll find one for you also & same goes for you Doug M too.[:)] I think Brent wanted one also.(if you do Brent, contact me at my e-mail) Jim A- after I post here I’ll send you an e-mail about the 1688E. Take Care all
Afternoon all, John, thanks, I will have to order it. Was not originally interested, but for the price, can’t beat it.
Well, another potential good day shot to you know what. I was just about to leave when I get a call about a patient needing emergency surgery. This is two days in a row and at about the same time. Worst part is that I am not even on call, but that is the way it goes. I am TIRED! and plan on going home, eat dinner, and go to bed. Have some connectors that will make wiring my fastrack much easier. I hope to get to do this perhaps this weekend, but we are going to FIL’s house for Saturday- his birthday, and then I will be helping out with Sunday services, no night church, so maybe then.
If I don’t catch up with Y’all, have a great Easter!
Brent: No they don’t get very close to the pads, they have an observation tower probably a mile, or more, away. The shuttle was in the assembly building, it took numerous hail hits/dings a few weeks back and they are being repaired. Current schedule is for sometime in May.
Ooooh nice 1688E.
Still can’t help going through the following routine every once in a while
“Atomic batteries to power”
(response) “Turbines to speed”
“Ready, Batman!”
It was sunny and snowy and cold in SE Indiana today with temps in the 30s. I have been busy the last two days and have not had time to check in until now. I will have to read all the posts later. My wife and I went to Bloomington, IN to do some “antiquing”. We did not find anything, but it was a nice drive and it was a good day to do that sort of thing. Today we cleaned house in preparation for the Easter gathering here. I had to put away a lot of stuff because we will have a lot of little kids here as well. I hope everyone has a good day and I will try to catch up on the posts tomorrow. “Close to Home” and Numb3rs" are new tonight. Jimtrumpie, I thought “Lost” was really good Wednesday night.
Saw some snowflakes today! Everything is pretty green from the warm weather last week, but all the flowers are doomed for sure. Put down fertilizer and grub killer today and picked up 5 more light fixtures for the basement as well as some illuminated 3-way switches. Spent about $240 at Home Depot and it went FAST. They had 6 fixtures in stock and I took them all to the counter, but luckily the lady noticed one of them was different - the boxes were identical, but they used different bulbs. Would have been sad when I opened the box and found they were different.
Quite a change in the weather! I got about an inch of snow in the yard. We had Good Friday Services tonight and all went well. We’ll have practice for Easter Vigil in the morning the services start at 8 p.m Saturday evening. It has been real busy so I’ve not had much time to play with trains. The bride is doing better after the carple tunnel but still needs help with stuff. She is tough so all will be good soon. I’m on night shift and on break so this will be brief.
Rested up after getting home from the museum, sure could tell it was Good Friday. Morning traffic was almost non-existent and the ride home wasn’t near as bad as usual. It was very busy today with lots of kiddos, young & old alike, visiting the museum and saw lots of smiles. Hopefully I’ll have some photos to post on Sunday, more than likely late sunday or early monday since I have a bit of cooking to do for sunday.
If most people think trains are for boys and not girls check out this link, especially the video.
Chief, Every so often I try to use my wife’s Sony Vaio laptop and my typing skills , which absolutely suck, are even worse with those dinky little keys. [sigh]
