Buckeye - this is what you get for messing around with Dr. John - a southerner.
Doug - watch out - a lotta 15 year old female drama out tonight here in N. Texas. Hope it doesn’t spread north of the Red River.

Good morning all,
This is certainly strange today. I logged on and nobody has posted for several hours. It really stormed in Indiana last night with several buildings being damaged by high winds/possible tornados. I watched “Lost” and it was another good episode. There are some hints this may be the last season or the next to last. I also went to the YMCA for weights. I helped the wife with the dishes as well because Lucas was working. Saturday is prom night and there will be big doings around the house. I have no idea where the dining car is today. It is somewhere between “Points East” and “Points West”. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill…
It is a cool 39 degrees. Going up to only 43 today with a chance of rain, later. This nasty weather is hanging on.
Today, I am going to take it easy. Been busy for a couple of days and need some quality time. Sure wish the warm summer weather would get here. I have a lot of work to do outside. I think I will spend some time running trains, later and relax.
Gas prices came down a few cents, but not good at $2.59 a gallon. This will put a hold on traveling this summer. At least, for us.
Well, Dining Car is waiting to board. Time for breakfast.
Y’all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Morning. Off to Kerr Lake ot cut a tree at lake house and install GPS in buddy’s boat. Big rain and some storming. Now sunny. Suppose to be 77 degrees today. Later.
BTW: Duke Univ. needs to be on its knees puckering as the “Duke Boys” case was dropped as they were innocent [like most thought all along].
Been a while, but I have returned from a successful excursion to New Jersey for Easter (Yankee land to our Southern bretheren).
Flew in on Good Friday high of 42, got to services @ 3pm had a nice NY style pizza dinner then off to bed. Did a little shopping at Z&Z hobbies in Hamilton then off to see the NJ Devils Alumni game. I was behind the team bench, was a glass thickness from Ken Danyko, Bruce Driver, Micheal Petit, Randy Valishek, Tommy Albelin, who between them all had 6 Stanley Cup rings!!! My other half was making eyes on Rob Skrlac and wrote him a note (she tried to make me jealous, but, if she can hook up with a NJ Devil…who can complain???[:-^]). Then a Trenton Titans game. We met up with some friends at Mom & Dads house after the game(s). Early Church on Sunday a great Easter feast by Mom & Dad, then home @ midnight. What a trip!!! Also saw some NY Yankee games live on TV and 2 NJ Devils games. It was great to be home!!
Hope all had a great Easter!!! GO DEVILS!!!
Rich
Mornin’ all
Its beginning to look like another wasted day here… still installing software… this is now going on 3 days without a working computer… pathetic…
Wasn’t able to make it to the LHS again yesterday, hopefully today… but I did get to pull an axle off my Bimmer last night, that was fun! [:)] So the CV Boot has been installed and the new tires mounted (much smoother, quieter, ride - and much improved handling)… [:D][8D] Just in time for nice weather this coming weekend!
Well I’m heading back to software installation land! [banghead]

Good morning from New England.
We ran our 2037 last night. The new smoke unit is producing very good smoke at 10-11 volts. It pulled a set of post war 2400 series passenger cars.
Have a great day, all!
Jim
Hi everyone! Hope this finds everyone having a good day so far.
A little cool this a.m., warming into the 70’s today. More storms are forecast for this weekend. With all of the stuff surrounding us yesterday, we only got about a tenth of an inch of rain. Thankfully the hail missed us. Folks in the next town had a good bit of hail damage.
May get some yard work in this evening if no rain. Off tomorrow, so will go cut my father’s yard for him. Then tackle some “honey-do’s”. Not much time for trains or layout building right now. Just buying a few things along.
Later! [:)]
Got this e-mail this morning and thought I’d pass it on since the high cost of gasoline had been mentioned - didn’t paste the pictures but you’ll get the idea anyway…
All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are…
You will be really shocked by the last one!!! (At least, I was…)
Compared with Gasoline…
Think a gallon of gas is expensive?
This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 … $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 …$9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 … $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon
Vick’s Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 … $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 … $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 … . $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 …$84.48 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER…
Evian water 9 oz $1.49… .$21.19 per gallon!
$21.19 for a gallon of WATER!!!
and the buyers don’t even know the source. Evian spelled backwards is Naive.[(-D]
Ever wonder why printers are so cheap? Well, they have you hooked for the ink.
Lisa,
Last night I dreamt I was a muffler and woke up exhausted this morning.
Mike C.,
That was a great episode. I am worried also because they said “beginning of the end” during the preview for next week. I really hope this isn’t the last season.
Morning all,
Woke up this morning with a nasty cold. Could feel it coming on yesterday. Haven’t had a cold for a couple of years so I guess I can’t complain, but I will anyway as York is coming up in 5 Days. Hope I can get rid of it quick.
Lisa, I liked that price comparison. It is sure a good one.
Take care,
Get well soon, John. You don’t want to be sick for York!
Jim
Mornin’ boys. Mornin’ Lisa. Hey, BTW, what’s the damage for a gallon of PROTOSMOKE?
Roy - your dilema isn’t confined to N. Texas. I’m dealing with a tornado of my own…[banghead]
But, let’s talk rail. Yesterday, I was given a nice RailKing Chessie covered hopper, compliments of my buddy Tom. Then in timely fashion Fed-Ex delivered me two Dept 56 buildings that I have been coveting, from DinkyTownRealtor (Ft Worth). Now waiting to occupy my yet-to-be-built town of Cumberland are #5969-2 CITY HALL (thank you Mrs. fifedog) and #58309 Kensington Palace (thank you Mom). But wait, fifedog, there is no palace in Cumberland…ahhhh, but this beautiful structure is VERY close in dimension to the WESTERN MARYLAND station there.
SWAMMY predicts a journey to HOME DEPOT in fifedog’s near future…
Morning all!
Nice day here. 70’s and sunny. [8D]
John - get well quick! Next week is just around the corner!
I see Buckeye can’t post due to the snow inflicted because of his poor attitude towards southerners and GRITS [}:)]
Lisa - good comparisons. I am glad I got to read it here and still have my muffler attached!
Got the drama queen off to school successfully this morning. Son came down with strep throat so he is home today.
Have a great day all!
Good afternoon from a grey Crystal Lake where I am awaiting a conference call in a few minutes. Got my trolley today! I am savoring the unopened box a while longer. Gearing up for watching over the brood by my lonesome when the bride goes off to her birthday trip to NYC tomorrow morn for four days.
Shush-up Lisa- we’re trying to have an INTELLIGENT conversation! [(-D]
Some people get into the sauce and Lisa gets into the grits.
Wow, Dr John that was close. Keep those tornados in the South. You are welcome to all of them.
Fifedog, when you were a wee lad, did they call you Fifepuppy?
For the mathamatically challenged, I would suggest you stay away from the posting about 42" circular track. I thought God made flex track so you could fix your mistakes.
Amtrak Genesis Dummy has been ordered. When I get it, I’ll post a video of the consist running through the Hell’s Gate Bridge.
See ya down the tracks,
Buckeye - “Husky”[(-D]
This is my first “sip” from ‘The Coffee Pot’ and like the blind carpenter who picked up his hammer and saw, I am celebrating an epiphany of sorts by admitting that I "Love reading the dialogues’.
Keep the brew warm!
<>Lisa - The information you posted is not far from the truth. I couldn’t pass this up since I am in the business.
<><>Average New Cartridge Cost $22 (conservative number)
Typical ink volume per cartridge 12 milliters
<><><>Cost per mil $1.83
<>1 milliter = approx .000264 gallons
Cost per gallon $6931
And this is conservative! Some new printers have less than 5 mil of ink. State of Minnesota has a class action suite against some ptr mfgrs for “Economy” cartridges. 25% off the price , and 50% less volume.
Sorry guys I probably shouldn’t have posted that, but glad to see information getti
