CLOSED////////The Coffee Pot is still on and over 3 years. Here we gather as friends with trains.

It sure is great that Lucas is doing well. . . Good to hear from Reggie… I like your thinking, Jim. Here’s the LA car: and here’s the SF Muni car:

Doug - After seeing the pics I am changing my mind. Get the SF. Aw heck with it get both!! One can be a Cinco de Mayo gift.

I get half for coming up with the title.

laz57

it’s more like lay more track down so i can get to enjoy running more trains.

i have a laptop but it has a cold right now. i will not use it because everytime i do it cuts off in the middle of any project. so my thinking is to take it to best buy and get all my pictures on it printed to a disc before i loose all of them. once i do that this weekend i will send it back to the factory to see if they will fix it or give me a new computer. this is the third time it has done this. oh and the family is doing great. they have actually been on a couple of trips with me, and mommy wanting to stop every 5 minutes. not realizing i have to be at my stop by a certian time. i’m trying to stay with buying all lionel engines but lionel does not come out with many engines in the modern body style. ? have any of you guys got much experience with the atlas engines with tmcc, are they smooth runners, also have any/many problems with these engines. they look nice and they come with plenty detail on them for the price. lionel i dont want to lstop buying their engines but they have to come out with more modern engines then they come out with. my list of engines that i want from the new atlas book are as follows:

sd35 - family lines # 6826-1, 6826-2, 6193-1

  • pennsylvania # 6806-3, 6806-4, 6190-1

mth i’m really venturing out but i say they are producing the body stlyes engines i like and want. so why be bias. so here goes:

gp38-2 - cn # 20-2806-1 x’s 2, 20-2806-3

es44ac - cp # 20-2823-3

so what do you guys think ?

Reggie,

I’ve always liked the old Family Lines scheme. The SD-35 sounds like a good choice. I think you’ll like the MTH GP-38-2 also.

BTW, Best Buy has fixed two of our computers and did a good job!

Hello All! Buckeye- Here are some uses for Grits: Mountains on Layouts, Bondo for Corvairs, Tire Patches, Crazy Glue, Drywall, Morter for Bricks & Stone, Substitute for Castor Oil.[;)][:D][:o)] Dennis- Sorry about your Dog also. Keep your Chin up. Mike C. Glad that Lucas is doing well & is active also. Hope he has a nice Prom too. Take Care all.

Doug…Buy both of them. They look great.

[(-D]Keith, you missed, Pothole Patches.

Buckeye…There is absolutely nothing wrong with the old icebox. Except that you have to empty the water pan. We were saving up for a refrigerator, and we ran out of penny wrappers. So, I spent it on trains.

What HO train layout ???

Chuck

Good evening everyone. Thanks to y’all with kind thoughts. It is a tough time. Lucky had a temporary reprieve, I had to do a case this afternoon and by the time I was done, the vet was closed. I went to Lowe’s and picked up some Lime. I figure I will try to dig the hole tonight and then when I am done with an early case tomorrow, I will head over for the euthanizing. Any suggestions on burying a dog? I figured a few feet deep and perhaps Lime spread over her. Anything I am leaving out?

As for Grits, one thing they really are useful for is spread them around the garden, kills slugs and other pests. But we really do like them here.[dinner]

I will try to get some things done on the layout tonight. Need the therapy.

God Bless,

Dennis

Dennis,

I am sorry to hear about your dog. I went through the same thing about 5 years ago. Extremely tough thing to go through. When we buried the dog, we wrapped him in an old towel and then placed him in an old suitcase. The hole was a couple feet deep. We got another dog about 6 months later. Will post a pic of him soon.

We always burried our animals (aka Our babies)with a piece of clothing or blanket they liked to lay on. so they can have it with them forever. We would wrap them init.

Now don’t anyone one take offense to this…

But, speaking about burying stuff, I’ve been rattlin on for 4 months about an elevated track and my foam room. So I take pictures and post them on a new thread, reference it in a previous post. AND what happens ??? No one even notices…

So I am givin you all one more chance, (then I’ll post it here) so the post is “Foam Room and Elevated Shelf” look at the d---- pictures [:-^]

Seriously, we always did the same as most have indicated wrap the dog in a cloth and bury about 2 -3 feet deep.

Havn’t heard from Doug dagrump, wonder if he took the laptop on his trip to FLA.?

Dennis- Now we know your secret. Southerners use G-r-i-t-s to get rid of Slugs & Pests. Now we know the truth & it has set us free from eating Grits.[;)][:P][:o)][:o)] Don B- The reason no one said anything about your elevated line is that the 1688E is not running on it yet. It will be soon![;)][:P][:o)][:D]. Buckeye- I think that the Ancient Egyptians used a form of Grits to wrap up their Mummies with & to preserve them forever.[;)][:P][:o)][:o)] Take Care all.

REGGIE - I like the stylish US/CANADA flag logo on CP, and the golden beaver logo on CN.

Evening all

Don - the track does look great. Sorry for not acknowledging it earlier[:I]

Reggie - glad to see you back; how is the little Princess?

Dennis - dig deep, place some flat stones above Lucky to prevent inadvertant surprises in years to come when planting flowers. Maybe a layer of grits; that would set up like stone.[:-^]

Been a nice day; overcast but nice. Got flowers planted, garden tilled, and some grass cut. A little homework then time to relax.

If you would please keep my mother-in-law in prayers; she had back surgury and is slowly coming around. Wife and siblings are there so wife needs prayers too! I got the cream of the crop by a big margine[:D]

I checked the cabin filters in my honda today on a whim and man was I surprised. The filters were gross!! Only 55K on the car but the filters were filled with bugs, dirt seeds and other stuff did not recognize. I got new filters from AutoZone for $30. I never really thought about them before[D)].

All take care and may God answer your needs

Jim

Jim, where are the cabin filters located on the Honda? We have a Honda Accord that we have been using as a spare car. It has over 130K miles and perhaps they are in need of a change? If they are like another car we have, they would be under a panel in the Glove box.

Kieth, The Grits have been great for keeping out pests…haven’t had any more invasions from the north since using them[swg]. I am just kidding folks, I don’t want anyone to get up tight.

With the whole deal with the dog, I got to thinking, a lot of other relatives I would miss less than a good dog. Who else acts like you are the greatest thing in the world every time you walk in the door? Maybe that is why the good Lord gave us such wonderful animals…to teach us how to love and treat one another.

Y’all have a good night, and may your morning meal have Grits with it!

Dennis

Dennis- We will send an OTTS Army to Southwest Georgia to blockade & confiscate Toy Trains from your area due to you being naughty & using G-R-I-T-S to keep us Northerners out. Operation commences tommorow at 8am![;)][:)][:D][:o)][:o)] Take Care.

Jim, we use the Merck Manual a lot at work and you can use it at home as well. They have a pro version and a home version. If you come upon any terms you don’t understant in the pro version, you can usually find them online, so I would just use that one. Here is what Merck says (as of today):

Treatment

Treatment involves control of hyperglycemia to improve symptoms and prevent complications while minimizing hypoglycemic episodes. Goals for treatment are maintenance of plasma glucose between 80 and 120 mg/dL (4.4 and 6.7 mmol/L) during the day and between 100 and 140 mg/dL (5.6 and 7.8 mmol/L) at bedtime (as determined by home monitoring-see Diabetes Mellitus and Disorders of Carbohydrate Metabolism: Monitoring) and maintenance of HbA1c levels < 7%. These goals may be adjusted for patients in whom strict glucose control may be inadvisable, such as the elderly; patients with a short life expectancy; patients who experience repeated bouts of hypoglycemia, e

Doug M: Get both dude!

Don: Room looks great and I love that two level G gauge track!

Chuck: Get the windchimes up? How about your locomotive sign for the yard?

No lawn work here today - rained like the Dickens. Dropped off Colorado truck for a service. Scott Lee HVAC man coming tomorrow between 8 and 12 to service equipment, so took the day off. Will probably catch up on some dvds and then go wire some lights in the basement. Friends’ daughter birthday party tomorrow night. Just bought tickets for Spiderman 3 online for Saturday, too! Man, I can’t wait to see that movie!
