What locomotives were leading CN intermodal train 121/CN train Q12111-21 at the time of the 2014 Saint-Henri train sideswipe incident on February 23, 2014?
Does anyone know. Because I have looked everywhere and there’s no results mentioning what locomotives were leading the CN train Q12111-21.
Not even the Wikipedia article on the 2014 Saint-Henri train collision mentions the locomotives pulling the 120-car intermodal train that was Q12111-21.
TSB of Canada did make a report on this, and the mentioned the yard assignment locomotives involved (CN 7208 and 7224)
But they never mentioned what locomotives were on Q12111-21.
You won’t find the road locomotives listed because they weren’t in the accident.
The two Geeps collided with the side of the intermodal consist, starting about 13 cars back. The intermodal power isn’t mentioned because it wasn’t involved.
So basically the locomotives in CN train Q12111-21 are unknown. Giving that it was 2014, we could estimate that the consist was involving the either the following:
C44-9W
ES44AC
ES44DC
Until CN themselves reveal the locomotives involved, that’s my theory.
