Coffee Pot #10 OCTOBER 2012 SIX years [April 1 is Anniv.] and going strong and its for all to chat. Plenty of coffee and sweet ice tea for all. Come and join us and chat. GRITS for the Yankees

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…

It is a damp 56 degrees Rained last night. More due today. Going up to 68 today.

Today is a busy day. I have chores to do and a project to work on. Then I plan on taking it easy. Lunch and a nap for sure.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Tuesday.

Chuck

Fife…this has been a sub 500 ball club since the all star break 2011. Do you know the names of half of the current starting lineup? Neither do I. The Red Sox management brought in Bobby Valentine to straigten out the attitudes of the big money ball players, then right out of the blocks chopped his legs off and didn’t let him do it. So we have a team of no names, bad attitudes of the remaining big name ball players, and a manager on his way out.[banghead] 2013 will be no better.

Jack

CHUCK,

Our TRIBE was blanked last nite. Only two more games to go then its “WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR”.

Good Mornin’ Y’all from Overcast Taxachusetts,

**Spanky…**thank you for this good news on Tyler. We understand how full your plate is right now and truly appreciate your keeping us in the loop. Prayers continue. Hang in there!!! [tup] [angel]

**Brutus…**that is very good news on Char. I am so happy for you and the family. The road has been long with this but always headed in the right direction, despite a few potholes. [tup][angel]

**HudsonJohn…**thank you for the good news on your Mom. She’s a pistol! Give her more advice on the meds and she might wack you upside the head! [tup][angel]

**LAZ…**Acadia National Park is about a 5+ hour drive North of here way up in Maine. Hope you don’t become one of the hikers that gets lost and has to be rescued. Plan ahead. Make sure Minnie is decked out like a St. Bernard and is sporting one of those rum kegs around her neck. [swg]

**SJ…**time to start stocking up on more than banilla for the AL playoffs. Congratulations on your Tigers. Your basball season goes on!!! When is the last time that playoff opportunities were up for grabs with so many teams this late in the season? I suspect never. [tup]

**Jeffrey…**you will need to start wearing vests for that pocket watch. Can’t wait to see the pics. [(-D]

Later, gang.

Jack

Aloha, Beauty of a day again today. Looks like we fall off the temperature cliff this weekend. Long night at church after work working things out that need to be worked out. Yesterday was a funny day in Chicago sports: big Bears win; Cubs lose their 100th game and the Sox beat the Tribe but were eliminated from the AL Central race. Congrats to the Tiggers! and SJ Buckeye, that’s a lot of pipe. Who knew there was so much oil / nat. gas down there.

Like Doug said another nice day today but going to hit freezing Saturday night.

Did round one ( of about 30) of leaf sweeping yesterday. I had to run the sprinkler around the burn pile for 45 min before I burnt the leaves to make sure I did not light the woods up because it is still sooooo dry. Watched the Bears and Twilight Zone. Also took a short ride on the Tardis then hit the sheets. [zzz]

Bob, Nice ride. [:O]

Buckeye, glad you liked the pictures and keep up the good work keeping the U.S.A. from using that foreign oil. [Y] I think you guys need to drill under Chief’s place. There will be a lot of natural gas there. [+o(]

Doug and Laz. GO Bears!!! Nice game and I stayed up to the end. [|)]

Brutus and DJ ,great news on Char and Tyler [angel]

Prayers for all in need.

P.S. Where has Joe and Roy been?? [:^)]

It’s an overcast 55 this morning.

I must thank the Chicago Sox for letting the Tigers take the division win. However the paper says they will be the team with the least wins come playoff time. After so many years of the pitiful Loins it’s nice to have a winner for a change. A good crew talk last night, lots to chat about…S.J.

3:30 pm sun is out and it’s a pleasant 67.

Another hot day today and tomorow, this should be the last of it. I like the warm but not the extreme.

Lately it seems that everytime I want to go someplace and have to leave at a certain time and I want one hour on the computer before I go I can’t get the internet. So I have to turn off the computer, turn off the modum, wait one minute, turn on the modum, wait another minute, turn on the computer wait six minutes. And Gov Brown just signed a law allowing driverless cars in this state.

Hey Guys,

Raining now and going into the high 70’s.

Had to ride the Harley today, I put 6 gallons in the wagon and made 2 trips to work and it died. Out of gas. I was going to the gas station before work. It’s 2 houses down from mine…[banghead].

Neon is done, needs an alternator @ $125. I have to return it to the original owner, as he wants a tax write off for donation. I can’t see plowing more money into it if I’m going to give it back. Pulsar needs an exhaust system and we’re exploring that. Wagon is fun but a gas hog. Went to install a smaller carb on it last night and the other carb is NFG…[banghead]. I get more scam e-mails through craigslist…what part of “cash only” do they miss??

I just want to get down to 1 daily driver and the roadrunner…

LAZ - Nice Vaycay…sweet. I don’t fish, but those dudes are HUGE!!!

Spank - Good news on Tyler…

The O’s are for real…took a Yankee skipper to make it happen…[swg]

The Fest was great!! On Sunday, I saw the Princeton Youth Orchestra with an Italian tenor, the USMC Silent Drill Team (they were just outstanding!) and an Abbot and Costello impersonation duo. They were really funny and they did the Niagra Falls routine as well as Who’s on First…[(-D]. Naturally,

V8, had enough hot weather myself. I haven’t seen the news about Gov Brown OK’s driverless cars. I will get off the road when I know one of those dudes are coming. Did you know, they already have driverless railroad locomotives (Remotes)? They are operated by a switchman on the ground with a radio control pack strapped on him. They have had many accidents but the railroads are determined to use them to eliminate jobs. So they don’t care. Up hill slow, downhill fast, tonnage first, safety last. What a pile of crap. Glad I don’t work there anymore.

Laz, looks like Chief was right about those fish being snagged. Not surprising with so many concentrated like that. Kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.

Re trains, newspaper had a story this morning about a farm truck hitting the side of an Amtrak Train and derailing it including the engine which was in the rear of three cars. All happened on the Valley line between the bay area and Bakersfield. No fatalities thankfully. Another truck hit a freight train on the same line derailing it too. Probably somebody from Mexico with a U.S. drivers permit? Maybe down there, the right of way goes to who gets to the crossing first. Up here though a tie goes to the train every time.

Good news for Tyler! Hope his condition keeps getting better. [angel].

Ray

Rain and sunshine off and on. Been at store after a morning of relaxing watching hunting on TV. Ran to Lowes to get more shelving boards to put up in the Box. Going to display some old stuff over layout.

And will not have to add skunk oil. [:$]

Way to go Char!!!

Bob is the funny guy here. Good for the hemroids. [:O]

Have a good one.

Rich,

Craigslist is one reason I stripped and scrapped the 91 Probe. I probably could’ve gotten more by selling it through there, but I didn’t want the hassle of potential buyers that want the “best price”, or liability issues from those who like to sue. I’ll never donate a car, especially after the amount of time and $$ I sunk into that one.[banghead]

DJ,

Continued [angel]

Brutus,

[tup]

It’s a nice 70 here. We’re expecting a low tonight of 55 with a chance of rain.

This morning I had expected this to be a day for resting. My father had different ideas. First, breakfast at McDonald’s. Then a trip to Wal-Mart to stock up on supplies for relatives coming Thursday. My younger sister and her significant other are coming down from Pennsylvania to visit for bit. Then visits to several law offices and the courthouse to make sure all the records on my parents property is straight. You see, my parents are selling their house. It’ll still be in the family, it just won’t belong to them anymore though they’ll have a lifetime lease on the east wing. Still, all three legal heirs have to be there, of which my younger sister is one. My older sister and myself are the other two. One of my relatives here is the buyer. And yes, she can afford it easily! If I even look at the electric bill for that place my bank account screams and faints! Heck, my electric bill and car insurance together came up to just over $110 last month and that doesn’t come close.

Finally got back home after 2pm. I was quite restless so I went out and mowed the grass. That ate up a few hours. Then since my father is working tonight I fed his dogs and the cat. Boy that cat has the dogs well trained. She comes through the door first. They have to wait.

Well after that busy day I’m fairly wiped out. So I think I’ll call it a night. See y’all tomorrow.

It was a nice day with sun and 68.

No big news tonight, so it’s banilla and a thingy ride for me…S.J.

Laz the reading set is all Williams actually

Evening all long day time for shower then bed lol Didn’t sleep well last night either so that made today just feel longer, bad enough when your doing 12 hr shift but when your tired because you didn’t sleep its just twice as bad lol oh well home and getting ready to say nite.

Have a good night and day tomorrow talk to you all later

Jeffrey, hope you keep your lawnmowing job with the new owners [tup] Nothing much going on here today - need to hit my deadlines by Friday and no help at work, so we’ll see - I usually pull it out at the last second but this is stressing me out this time, dunno why. I still have to find some place to fix my rear window on the truck, which is leaking at the top of the seal; but, I’ve been so busy at work and on breaks too that I haven’t had a chance and when I get home i just crash. I’ll get to it.

Excellent news about Tyler and prayers for all. TARDIS is ready, Freddy - let’s get going!

Sunny and about 70 today.

RI52 - The beers were Schlalfly products - a small craft brewery in St.Louis. Brutus may know of the Tap Room. That is their initial micro brewery. With the appitizer, we had a pilsner, which was pretty good. With the soup course, a single run wheat beer experment featuring a unique yeast. That one was so-so. Next with the bread course was a dry hopped American Pale Ale. I really liked that one. With salad was a rasberry flavored brew. Was good with the salad, but was not something I would to choose just for a drink. With the first meat course was an Oktoberfest. That one was a good one. A Bierr de Garde was served with the second meat course. Nothing special, but went well with the pork roast. Pumpkin ale was served with the vegetable course. Again, a good choice for the food, but nothing I’d drink on a regular basis. A stout was served with dessert - I was too stuffed to really enjoy that one. The chef that is hired for these dinners is outstanding. Always good food to go with the drinks.

I talked to a chemical engineer friend today about paint removal from models. He has had good luck with drain cleaner on some of his projects. The simple green just is not getting the paint loose on the B-unit shell. I’m going to up the ante a little and try a caustic drain cleaner.

All for now.

Good Evening!

You sure can add me to that list! I am sooo tired of being hot all the time. Waiting for the news to see chat they are saying for the forecast.

It doesn’t seem like the training EVER ends at the farm. Past 2 days have been spent training on how to do “Breaker” activities. Which is just going out to the equipment and relieving the person on duty for their rest break and lunch. Then in the interium doing small (but necessary) tasks, and whatever comes up in the round house. Makes for a boring day!

Really terrific news about Tyler and Char, really terrific!

Had a really neat incident occur yesterday, after making a trip with the Goose, I was talking with a little boy maybe 4 or 5. He was really interested in the bell, which is mounted on the left front fender. I let him pull the bell rope, and he just gleamed. About that time a 3 or 4 year old girl had come up behind me and grabbed my hand and was holding on for dear life. I turned around and she was wearing a real frilley dress, and had a pink tiara. She looked like she was a small princess! She had been eating candy and had a circle of candy smears around her mouth, and was carrying a small bag of M&M’s. So she says they are her favorite and offered me some. She was adorable, really fantastic. Sorry, to bore you guys with all this, but she made my day! One of the real benefits of working at the park!

Hope everyone continues on the road to mending.

God Bless and have a great day!

No problem there. I’ve already discussed it with them. They’re more than happy to have me continue to do that job and they’ll probably pay me a bit more than what I currently get which would be quite welcome. The conditions are the same. They supply the equipment (which comes with the property) and the gas and I do the mowing. They admitted very quickly they’d be fools not to have me do it. Everyone else wants high double digit to middle triple digit fees. Compared to them my services are nearly free. So I am as they say, their best bet.

Evenin’ All.

I’ll add to the chorus of fed-up with the heat. 106 Sunday. 107 Monday and 105 today. [|(][|(] They say there will be quite cooler wether starting tomorrow thru the weekend but I’ll believe it when I see it. [:-^]

At least there was some good news for those with health issues. [tup]

Sorry Chuck, but I have given up the Cheerios in favor of Shredded Wheat for breakfast. Zero sodium and much greater fiber content, [:$] . What’s with sodium in milk even higher in low fat ? [banghead]

8n, Sent you a message regarding LED’s.

Broke down and ordered the Hallow’s Eve add-on cars, will make a nice little 4 car set. Would be nice if L would come out with a matching express style boxcar to go with it. Looked at the Graves Mortuary cars but they are standard “O” and would probably look a bit oversized.

Spent part of Monday at the museum. It is now all decked out for halloween. now if only I can get caught-up on my “honey-do’s” so I can start on the halloween layout and decorating the garage. If the weather guessers be right about the big cooldown it will make catching-up much easier. [*-)]
