COFFEE POT #13 [November], for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 4 yrs old and still going.

Thanks gang for waiting. Just walked in from the lake. Rain and more rain. Gas prices in Roseyville went down and the lake went up. Lake was on the rise when I left. 1.72" and still raining when I left.

Hope all have a great month and week. Turkey month with Thanksgiving on the way. Will catch up on posts missed later.

Gee I thought there were only 12 months in the year? This is CP #13.

Here I am. Another month… Chapter 13.

Poor Don… He can’t count higher than 12.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 60. I mulched the yard again and bagged a few leaves from the street gutter and where I raked on the perimeter. Leaves are mostly down. Finished with back closet and moved magazines out to barn. The “saucy wench” is happy, but puzzled that I am keeping the magazines. I figure I paid for them and I am not going to throw out information I may want to read later on when I can’t play soccer. Watched the end of the NASCAR event. Glad I did not watch more. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning. TBIL, and I can drive after “Desperate Housewives”. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Well, I had a day of half-done things. (1) Helped my daughter carve out her totem pole - she is sanding it. (2) cleaned cement for patch and added bonding agent - but, it has to completely dry first, so no cement patch today. (3) Put in a light box in the stairwell and fished wire down to an existing light fixture - but, it’s on a 3-way switch and I got the logic wrong, so must redo that - probably a few times, until they both work. Oh well - each little thing is another inch toward the finish line. I think If I want them in series, I could just go on one side of the existing fixture? I’m not sure what I did wrong, but I don’t want to run another wire, that’s for sure.

Yee-Haw!!!

I got in on the first page of the initial November thread. My life is now complete! [8D]

Gotta get a picture of my wife’s Halloween display with my viaduct so I can post a bunch of pics.

Slow day today - watched most of the Vikes-Pack game - I bet the Packers wish Favre had never signed with them.

Good Evening

40s right now.

Train show was very good, a one time location had lots of room and full. Nope couldn’t find one thing that I just had to have. Talked to Charlie and his wife for awhile saw two others that I worked with at P & D so it was a good outing. And of course a dozen or so others that I knew. Banilla is here and we are waiting for the thingy…S.J.

Evening all,

It has been a busy day. Two services and going to two cemeterys for the blessing of the graves for both parishes since today was Solemnity of all Saints. It was a good day. I am dragging. I feel like it is an hour later than what it is.

Good night and may God bless

Jim

I had to work again today. Very crazy/frustrating day. Now that it is November, I’ve got to start planning the Christmas layout. I am thinking about changing things a bit this year. Instead of the usaual four O gauge loops, I’d like to shoot for three O gauge loops and two Flyer loops. I have to figure out if that is possible in a 6x8 space. Here is a photo from a few years ago.

Good Evening All ! Found it, thanks for the link RT!

Found out something really interesting, and a little too much information. Wife had family coming in from Milwaukee on Thursday. She was curious as to arrival time and status, so I did a Google on flight arrivals. A number of sources came up, and clicked on a couple. The amount of detail was over whelming! By having JUST the carrier name and flight number, a route map was displayed (showing the aircrafts origination point as well as the intermediate stops). A icon represeneted the aircraft and below the time, departure time, current air speed, longitude and latitude coordinates, current altitude, miles flown, and remaining miles left. Estimated arrival time and notes for any other conditions. This information is available for ANY commercial flight daily! They also provided information on how many flights daily, past flights etc have been tracked. I was watching and the flight information was changing minute by minute. When you think of all the details you have to go through to get on the airplane in the name of security, just to find out that all that detail is provided to the entire world “real time”. WOW !

Halloween was relatively low key here, no (zero) “Trick or Treaters” what a disapointment, must have all gone to the parks. We had family over for afternoon/dinner BBQ, everyone seemed to have a good time. Train room was a big hit! Chris had gotten a couple of pumpkins, and the current plan it to cut the bottom out for a TEMPORARY pumpkin tunnel on the layout. (OY VEY!!) So will see what happens with that tomorrow.

Ended up working Saturday morning and today, so kinda tired. Will go into the office tomorrow to “rest up”. I wanted to get some pictures posted but too late now, maybe will do some tomorrow. There are some really good scenes on the SPF thread, way out

Don, running late to get to your place, I’ll use the wayback circuit [:)] Gotta pick up da guys first and get some of that banilla [tup]

Jim - nice pic [tup]

Some great stuff on the SPF thread - my stuff is all covered up to keep the concrete dust out.

All have a good night and see ya tomorrow {:)]

It’s already November…where is the time going?

Hi GYZ,

32 and frosty. Gotta take dog to vet, she has an eye infection, it is droopy looking so we’ll get it checked out. Ran trains last nite for an hour all good NO PILE Ups.

Stay frosty,

Another week of work in order to pay SS for the Chief.

The leaves hit the ground this weekend. We had a bumper crop this year. Let them dry out and then mulch.

Trains Magazine had a great article about the 1225.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps climbing to near 60. Buckeye, have to agree with you on 1225 article. Most of that issue looks pretty good from what I read so far. We watched “Desperate Housewives” last night. It was pretty good. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to “Points East”. TBIL any time tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin’ boys. Looks like 50’s all week in the Mid-Atlantic region. Back on nightwork, so I get to chat a bit in the AM.

cheapclassics - I am soooo glad I DVR’d the NASCAR race…[zzz] Looks like the drivers were sending a message back to the sanctioning body. If my butt were in the grandstands, I would have asked for a refund midway.

dbaker - Like I tell the fifelings - “Adapt! Improvise! Overcome!” Glad you’re still with us. OH, Dougaroo’s car will be headed your way.

Morning guys,

A crisp 54 at wake up time (0530), sun is just now coming through the low clouds.

Halloween has been deconstructed and put back in the attic. I’ll post the video link for the house later on. Looked over the Christmas boxes and am now starting to formulate a game plan on those decorations.

Whilst going through some of the leftovers of the Train Works (things I was given), I thought I had some 21st Century trackage. Note the work SOME. As it turns out, I have a “paper” box FULL of straights and what looks like O54 curves. I have half a curve of O27, looks like I’ll need the other half. I was going to use it for the permanent Christmas layout under the tree. NOW, I’m thinking Fastrack under the tree and 21st Century on the layout. Brent, I KNOW what you’re thinking…hmmm decisions, decisions…[banghead]

I would have done more on the train front, but we are having er, “disagreements” on the Princesses’ homework.

Morning all. Cloudy and chilly. Hope it does not spit rain while we are doing the Roseyville Mill Bridge Nature Park ribbon cutting at 11 AM. Then feeding all the County Comm’s, County Staff [Dept Heads], Sheriff and our Comm’s. Going to Fitzgerald’s the new seefood restaurant in town. Got County Commissioners’ after that. Then Town Board tonight with main topic which is DOT’s Super Streets for the Roseyville By-pass. Super Streets are intersections without signals. Interesting. Coffee and toasted ham and cheeze. Don Baker, glad to see your In-laws are visiting. Rich, 54 is a little cool for FLORIDAYA for this time of the year. BTW: the homework thingy is a teenage thing. I know as had 5 go through that. Later

Chief - I think the term we use up here is “Round-Abouts”. Traffic circles at trouble intersections, which only permit right turns. They actually work safe (after the first couple months when Otis runs into them after a bender “Who put that there?”). I wouldn’t recommend them for streets with more than one lane each way (think European Vacation…)
