Enjoying my first coffee since this started (yes, it’s decaf). Boy does the selection get small when you are looking for decaf.
Happy Birthday S.J. !
Brutus - glad to hear your news. Sounds promising.
RT - I spend a day helping a friend set up an extra-fancy ceiling fan. Opened up the box and was tempted to call “many planes, heading Midway”. It was pretty neat and a good unit, but a real project. Plus, I had to reinforce the box in the attic. Did I mention this was in Phoenix, in the summer? Oh boy…
Doing better today. Still sleeping a lot, but it looks like we will be adjusting the meds down, which is a good thing. More tests Friday on what is making my internals try an outside loop on occaision, from the inside. Being stranded at home has had his advantages. I’m catching up on appointments and such and on stuff around the house.
Hopefully this post won’t run all together. Happy to have the little IBM laptop running Linux back. Never thought I would end up using a mac and longing for something else.
Good night all. Had to put three traction tires on the AC6000. Two on the same wheel set came off the first time I ran it. Finally got time to take care of it. Fishing line did not work as sides of trucks too close to the wheels. Took shell off and then truck sides. Not a problem but time consuming. Then ran trains for about an hour before leaving for meeting. Came home to supper of country style steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and spinish. Plenty of sweet ice tea. Watched a couple of movies with popcorn and now bed time. Sleep tight.
Quick check before bed…worked till 8, family over till 10…worked from home from 10pm-1:30am…now to bed… Lionmaster BB is in the train room…will open tomorrow.
Brutis…glad things are looking a bit more positive for your wife. If you ever want to talk about the Transplant ordeal, shoot me an email. No experience with Bone Marrow so little help there, but did get a new Kidney in January. These Doctors today can do some amazing things! Keep the faith and I will keep her in my thoughts!
Chief…glad to hear the good news about Fil. Tick issues sooooooooo much better than the “C” word. Friday marks the one year anniv. of my dad passing from it at 69 years old. He was born in good ole’ Altoona PA! His dad worked for the railroads way back when. Not sure what he did. Hmmm will have to ask my uncle.
Anyway, just wanted to catch up with everything and everyone and give my well wishs to those in need…Night all!
Morning everyone. I finished the deck last night. One less thing to do before I can start working on the layout again. I see why deck builders like to use nails. This took a couple of weeks to build one screw at a time. The honeydoo list doesn’t really get any shorter…
Put on a fresh pot. Before I forget, prayers to all who need them, especially Brutus’s family, Chief’s FIL, and Submmbob.
Happy belated birthday to Sir James and belated anniversary wishes for Charlie.
Wifey and I celebrated 30 years on Tuesday. We drove over toward Lancaster and went to Smorgasbord at Shady Maple. We had a nice day.
SIL is coming from FL for a visit will be here through Sunday. Ran standard gauge for a little while last night before putting it away for the duration of SIL’s visit. Sunday will be a busy one with taking SIL to airport, visting Dad for Father’s Day and then going out to dinner to meet our son’s GF’s parents. I guess this relationship is getting pretty serious when the parents meet. Her folks are coming to the East Coast for visit. They live in California, but I believe her Dad is originally from Kentucky.
Good possibility of rain today in SE Indiana. Won our soccer game 3-1 last night and the one goal by the opponents came late in the game. I played about half the game. Did some things well, others not so well. Got away with a major shove when contesting a ball. Don’t normally do that, but sometimes “old age and treachery…” My Norwegian soccer friend and her friend showed up for the last half of the game, and they, my dad, the “saucy wench” and I went to dinner at Steak’n’Shake. The food was good and the company delightful. Tired and sore this morning, but did not have to drive. Taking Friday off. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day. Prayers as always going out to those who need them.
Mornin’ boys. Mornin’ English. Steady rain and 68, with flash floods across the Mid-Atlantic region today…thud and blunder! Lots to do inside though…like going on-line and ordering goodies for the sailboat! [oX)]
Ole Timer - You are correct about a buyer’s market for boats. I know of a few marinas where folks have abandoned their vessels, and the owners will let them go cheap. Check out the Salty Dog, or the SPIN SHEET (sailboats) and PROP TALK (powerboats), for best prices.
mitchie - Congats on 30! [8D][wow]
Lawson Farms- Nice to have fans. [(-D] Early pick for this weekend is the 24. I forsee the top two series going back to a 36 car field next season…
Back to 36 car field. Hadn’t heard that, but it makes sense, what with the car manufacture’s cut backs on support. As usual my pick is # 18. #5 would be OK to.[tup]
Wes - Great looking deck. Time to fire up that grill and enjoy it![dinner]
Chief - Country style steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and spinach is one of the best Southern meals. I wander if our Yank friends will agree.[:-^]
Bob - I like the sound of your progress. Playing with the trains will speed up the recovery even more.
SJ - All of the White Castles are gone from our area[:(], but I remember eating lunches there some 40 years ago.
16C and drizzly/showery this morning. We’re supposed to be having more rain today, tomorrow and Saturday. Once that is all done then the heat turns up --[:-^] Had a big ol’ t’underin’ boomer with attendant monsoon last night which woke up the household.
Got some fiddlework to do so we’s be gettin’ ready to go get that done at the office. Might get some other stuff done later.
Hopefully no one will have tornadie issues today-----have yourselves a good 'un—[swg]
Record heat again here mid to upper 90’s again…Thunder & Lightning this morning coming down from GA.
Princess comes home from Dance Camp and has blessed us with the news that she has been invited to dance in for the New Years Eve of 2010-11. So, we’ll start saving now…If her school wins today’s competition, she will be in the Finals in (at least I can afford that…). I’ll try to be there for the awards ceremony at 1130.
I put 5 things on the ‘bay, I’m thinking that I’ll be going to Deland on July 11th for the train show and sale there, a little time away and possibly put the Princess to work for the day.
Not much other news either way, I’ll have to speak to my parents later and see how they are,
Woke up at 0500 this morning and lots o rain. Shut off alarm and hit the sack again. Got up at 0700 and still raining so took dog for walk and then did 2 miler on treadmill did situps and weights. Lousy day might go down to BARRYs Train Shop this afternoon.
WES Great job on the deck. Looks like and ideal place to drink a few OL MILs?
CHARLIE, your gonna love that Lionmaster BB. I have one and it runs great. Enjoy.
MITCH, Happy Anniversery to you and the MRS. And many more.
I guess it’s how Ohioians do it! After a few decks, you learn not to cover the top of the spindles with a board unless you like spending the summer removing wasp nests…
Belly still feels full from yesterday and the BLT that Brutus bought and then ate for me didn’t help, I think thats what put me over the top food wise. I have been to Kroger so now the day is mine and I have an eye on the basement. Nice job on the decks, looks good…S.J.
Morning all. Glad SJ had a great bday. There’s a White Castle just down the block. I need to go in your honor. All that beautiful woodworking - wish I knew how to do all that. Happy Anniversary, Bob! The bride and I leave on our anniversary trip tomorrow morn - without the kids.
