Sears Roebuck
The model turned out to be slightly taller than the Athearn’s on the right.
This Sears/Lionel boxcar was included in the American Flyer train set, which was probably released during the 1975 holiday season. The set image was taken from an online auction.
I haven’t been a big fan of fantasy engines or rolling stock but I have to admit some are quite clever and colorful and VERY well done!
So in the spirit of the thing I decided to do one of my own. And if you’re from the Northeast you’ll recognize the outfit immediately.
It’s holy ground for New Jersey folks!
