Good ol’ ‘Shouldn’t Paint So Fast’! How things could have been different if that merger had gone through?
According to Trainorders.com (Oct. 20, 2002), there was an event at Topeka, KS on Sept. 24, 1987, with participants signing the sides of the car.
This livery was first introduced by Tyco in 1977, imitating the signs of a coal company, and was later followed by Lionel, K-Line, MTH, Weaver, and others. For more information on Blue Coal, please see the following thread.

I support the restoration of the paddle steamer ‘Medway Queen’. As a way of acquiring funds the society commission the building of model railway wagons.
In 2024 Medway Queen was 100 years old. Built at the Ailsa Boatyard in Troon, Scotland, two models of Ailsa were commissioned.

I visited the Medway Queen Preservation Society website. I was impressed by the number of commemorative models they made. However, they are all modest in design. The models that Hornby released for the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ debut in 2023 were all attractive.
This is a commemorative model of the “Railfair Sacramento 1981” held by the California State Railroad Museum to celebrate its opening in 1981 (Trains magazine, August 1981 issue, pp. 16-18A).
This is a test to display Google Maps images.
As mentioned previously I support the preservation of ‘Medway Queen’

The other problem is that everyone collects them so there tends to be a lot of them. When collectables (no just trains) are abundant they aren’t worth much.

Ain’t that the truth!

Becky, do you know why Ak-Sar-Ben Hobby Co. was in Jacksboro, TN? It seems it should have been about 900 miles northwest of there.
