Dans-Train-Depot

Anyone had any problems? (e-bay store) Some photos don’t show what I would like to see. I’ve never heard any talk here, but he seems to have good stuff, depending on what your looking for. Your [2c] Thanks Much. Dane

Dave,

He is in my top 2 of places to buy from. He will answer your call or question ASAP. I also saw a Ebay add he was placing and couldn’t see the Woodland Scenics Trees very good. I emailed him and he took pics of every tree and emailed them to me. One other time a month ago I was bidding on a FSM kit from him. The winning bid (mine) was almost $750.00. After winning something happened at home and the money was needed elsewere. I emailed him and told him the problem. He emailed me back and said it was OK to make monthly payments on it. I was floored. But anyhow, he is outstanding in my book.

One of the few ebay sellers I have saved as a favorite seller. Never had a problem with anything I’ve won from him, everything’s always been nicely packaged and quickly shipped out. Last batch I got 3 out of the 4 Kadee 55t hoopers they did for Reading (4th one went higher than I was willign to pay) and a couple of other car kits, I got a nice email with a more then fair shipping amount for the combined order, and I had it I think within 3 days of paying. Dan’s definitely one of the good guys on eBay (there really is a Dan - Dan Glasure, met him one time at the Timonium MD train show). I’d not hesitate to bid on any item he offered that woudl be of use to me. If the pictures don’t show exactly what info you need (usually he has multiple views of each item), just use the seller contact and ask, you’re sure to get a prompt answer.

Mike Thanks for the response. I’m not looking to spend that kind of money, but there are some things I’m watching.[8D] It seems like anything enjoyable these days takes a backseat. We work harder for less these days. Be Safe Dane

Randy Thanks, That’s good to hear. All you guys on this forum are exellent. Been here a couple of years. Just got profile set up, now I need to type faster.[banghead] Be Safe. Dane

I like Dans also.

Dane,

You have to be very carefull these days on who you buy off of. Especially on Ebay. But you can’t go wrong with Dan. If you need anything more then what is on the add just send him an email. With him it’s that simple my friend. His items are like anyone elses. Sometimes you can get a good deal with him, and sometimes his stuff goes for big $$$. It’s a hit or miss. His shipping and packaging are very good also. The other posters are correct to.

Mike

PS. Keep on posting here, it’s good to have you back.

I don’t know if Steve still sell on E-Bay, but that is where I meet with him first. Unlike other sellers, when I had a problem with a engine and I had to send it back to the manufacture for warranty. Steve replaced the engine!

Here is his store front link.

Fast shipper, fun to talk with and bends over backwards to help if there is a problem. Next best thing to having a LHS near as your mail box.

Cuda Ken

Cuda Ken Thanks for the link. I’ve heard of them, but never checked them out. In-laws live in Woodriver. K-10 is awesome. Is that a 383/440 or 340. Had a friend with a 340 6-pack duster way back when.[8D]

Dan has the goods and one nice older Samhongsa piece is on the way to my house as we speak. I use his layaway plan much of the time since the price of some really great stuff has risen to new heights, but his service is good and Dan or Gail will help you get that rare piece of brass.

He recently received a semi truck load of brass that is being listed even now. There is some really rare stuff on the list today and much more coming.

Dan’s used to be a local store also, but the brass business took over and they sell on the web site and list on Ebay. I do not use Ebay but have purchased eight pieces of brass from Dan’s in the last two years.

I would say they are good people that have many items of brass much of the time.

I am a N-scale modeler and have purchased or shall we say bid on and won many things from Dans and have always had excellent service and what he posted for auction the condition was exactly what he had posted.

Dans ships as soon as he gets paid, I normally receive items in 3 days from when I pay through Pay pal.

In short I have been very pleased with Dans and would recommend them!!!

Dan’s be good people…

Dan’s Train Depot- TWO Thumbs up!!!

Even with the added joy of cross border e-shopping (from Canada) him and Don Black are two solid performers in my book. I highly recommend them both.

Best regards

Andrew

Yep, K-10 model trains is awesome, heading there later today. Far as Ulrich Model’s, in some ways better than K-10, he understands DCC, where Ken at K-10 is a DC person.

69 Charger in the icon has a Blown 440, my 70 Cuda has a 383 and 68 Road runner has a 426.

I’m with you Berk-Fan, They are both as good as gold.

Johnboy out…

Yup, another “two-thumbs-up” vote from me. I’ve bought from him a number of times.

I’m going to agree with pretty much everyone here, they are good on service.

I’ve only bought one thing from them, would buy more if they weren’t in Florida (don’t want to pay taxes, then again, who does?)

The service is good and he just received a collection shipment of believe it or not, 3500 pieces of brass that is now being listed ASAP. I am not sure of the exact numbers of locomotives in that total number, but I think it is close to 1000 pieces. I purchased one today that was a bargain at least to me.

I’ll echo the statements posted. I, too, have Dans Train Depot saved as a favorite seller. He and his staff have always provided fast answers and excellent service. I do wish Dan would list more items in lots rather than individually. I’ve picked up many a box of interesting and desirable HO scale knick-knacks from him a couple of years back.

Dan probably makes more money by selling individual items. I stopped using Ebay two years ago and now I go directly to Brasstrains.com which is his on line site. I know he tends to sell off many items on Ebay in addtition to his web site and they are probably hot items that he is trying to get top dollar.
