Does anyone know the history of this GP38 that was numbered 1801 by BUGX?
Here’s a picture of the locomotive:
From what I’m aware of, this locomotive was given a “spray bomb” paint job, and was also carrying AEI tags. But there’s no mention on what this locomotive was built as, nor what this 1801 was formerly known as. (I’ll call it “the fake BUGX 1801”, to distinguish it from BUGX GP9R 1801, formerly PNWR GP9R 1801)
It’s worth mentioning that I used Google reverse image search, and never got what this locomotive was formerly. Used google to find what this was, and got nothing but results to PNWR 1801.
Thanks!

Someone on RRPA claims that it was formerly SJVR 3822 or SJVR 3824.
But… SJVR 3822 became BUGX 2000:2 in 2022, and SJVR 3824 became BUGX 2000:3.
Have you tried contacting LocoNotes, like someone suggested in one of your earlier search threads?
Someone on railpictures noted that the AEI tag maps to ‘BUGX 1801’ but this is clearly not only not the GP9R but rather obviously un-numbered either on the numberboards or on the cab – and the side windows are painted out and there is a notice on the cab door. The unit was sent to Mexico where it, as far as I know, remains.

Sort of numbered on the cab, it’s obviously sprayed “BUGX 1801” on the cab.
