Hey Gav, looks like this rounds on you again! [(-D]
Flash, sad to hear about your dad, and I sure do know about sacrifices, as many of us do in the diner. Prayers for your dad too. Can’t add to what’s already been said, but one day at a time helps, and keeping your faith too!
It’s about lunch time, so how about some No-Peep Stew [:-^]
Hi All
Just time for a cup of tea
Then off to the hospital for another round of Radiation
When i’m done with this i won’t need any more light bulbs
Morning, Zoe - I’ll have some scrambled eggs, strip of bacon, toast a cup of coffee and a glass of Ed’s OJ, please. Thanks!
Sounds like our eastern Diners (and Jeff, too!) have had a day (and maybe night) of it with the weather. Dick, have you checked if the layout got bounced a couple of inches when that boomer hit close to you? That would’ve bounced me out of my seat! [:O]
Scott, definitely an interesting day on the job for you there. I gather that you had a good engineer you were working with. You’re for sure getting the practical training on how to deal with the unexpected, huh? Sounds like you’re keeping a good head on ya, even with all that stuff. Have a better day of work today! [tup]
Flashwave, sorry to hear about your Dad’s and the family’s problems. I’d Garry’s remarks, and will be keeping you and yours in my [angel][angel] Keep hanging in there, and I’m sure the Big Guy understands about your frustrations (and is hanging in there with you all). I’d also add, let us know if there is something we can do (in addition to prayers).
Rob, one more day and you can likely get some partial relief from that pain (and hopefully, a quick appointment for the extraction). May you and Barbara have good recall as you make your list up.
Paul, hope you get a break in your weather while you’re finishing up

Morning all–
Well, we’re under a Smoke Advisory all up and down the Central Valley because of the fires along the Coast and in the Sierra. The smoke has come down here and settled, and let me tell you, it’s no fun. I wasn’t able to get out of the house yesterday, and according to weather reports, the Smoke Advisory is going to be in effect at LEAST until this weekend and for everyone to stay indoors unless it’s ABSOLUTELY neccessary. And to top that off, I’ve got my 94 year old mother here for the week. If it gets too much worse, I’ll have to take her back home, but one of the fires is about 10 miles from my home town in the Sierra (not threatening), so the air conditions up there aren’t any better than the conditions down here. Only way I’ll be able to work on the Buttes until this weekend is if I wear a portable respirator out in the garage. Thank God for AC, it’s at least filtering the smoke out in the house. The Governor has called on neighboring states to help us with fighting the fires, has called out what National Guard we have left (that isn’t in Iraq) to help fight the fires, and some of the fires are just having to be let go to burn because we just don’t have enough manpower to cover them.
I’ve lived in this state all my life, and I’ve NEVER seen conditions like this! Right now it’s about 9:30 in the morning and outside it smells like a weenie roast gone VERY bad. And not a drop of rain in sight.
Flash: So sorry to hear about your Dad. Prayers for you and yours.
Terry: Keep positive, good buddy–remember, you’re more than HALFWAY there, now.
Well, have to go out and entertain mother–which means flipping through the Satellite channels to find a baseball game. ANY baseball game, LOL! She doesn’t care, just as long as people in bill-caps are standing around scratching and spitt
Wow, I can’t remember when I was last in… lol.
Listenin to some skynyrd right now, and planning train stuff. So far, I’ve thought about adding two curved turnouts to have two decent sized passing tracks… I just need to find a curved turnout with a 22" radius outside curve… Haven’t found any yet.
I did manage to fix the track over the hill and the bridge and stuff, and it’s looking good… I just need that backdrop, and we can go to town. I’m having fun running mixed trains, with reefers and some passenger cars… I need more daylight cars, I’ve spotted some on Ebay… I missed a good one though. That’s what happens I guess.
On the drumming side of things, I need new drumheads… The ones I’ve had are 2-3 years old now, and they came with the kit… Bass drum head has a lovely 1" little indent where the pedal has hit it, lol.
That’s it for now.
Mark
The weather here is getting real ugly real fast with thunderstorms rolling in fast. I hope they pass quickly.
If this keeps up, I’ll have to shut down. I too hope that it won’t be long but we may be off for the rest of the day.
We get thunder, dark clouds, lightning and ZERO rain!!!
Don’t you just hate that?
The middle of page 2?!? [:O]
C’mon folks!
Well hi all been a few days again. Working the way I have been and just getting my homre putor back on line 4 days ago I’ve been keeping busy. Just a quick stop in did read from where I last posted so Glad to hear PC junior is doing great and thanks for the congrats and yes we have about 3/4 of the boxes unpacked.
Not to much happening tonight just a quick hello as stated
Good evening to all: just played our last playoff game tonight-WE WON- friday night we play for the champion ship - one game instead of three this year… CB&Q and JIM RCGMO i built this layout just to run trains with no idea on how i will land scape it .i am a collector and operator of Sts. . pre war O ga , tinplate and post war.do have some modern lionel & mth.after many layouts thru the years i just want to be able to run my trains . Layout size is 16’w x 20’ long x 40" high . outer loop is std ga with one in/out siding using tin plate track . Oga consit of one 072, one 054, and one 042 loop- all track is connecte together by ross cross over on both sides of the ovals-track is gargraves with wooden ties. Str ga is powered by a Z trans. Oga is powered by two Z4000’s . stand ga is strickley conventional. the Oga is wired so that it can be used in convential, tmcc, or DCS thru a series of toggle switches. the 042 oval leads in to a storage yard with 7 sidings for storage . the road bed for std ga consits or two pcs of Oga cork rod bed butted together to give width. Oga track is mounted on vinyl road bed .a few years ago i purchased a lot of the Del-Air switch control and are using them on this layout. makes it interesting as TMCC or DCS will not operate switches-i an the engineer who must preform switching functions . will take pictures ans post later . George

One of my forum members just posted it on my forum today. It’s a riot!

Well, Dad’s cancer has taken an odd turn. It;s not in any of the organs, which is good, but it;s on the outside. And hads been binding in on lymph nodes and a kidney. outside, taking up space. Which would explain the Jaundice. So tey’re gonna stretch the bile duct tomorrow, then they can work on the rest of the problems in a week. Whoopee. He says this is the best possibility. He forgot the “false test result” option. Prayers and support are welcome. orry again for my little blowup.
Jeff, awesome vid. tell they member they did a sweet job.
Good evening guys, we made it to 4pm today before the TS’s moved down from New Hampshire. Luckily we only received some wind and 0.09" of rain, the ground is saturated enough now from the last few storms. This has been the most active June for weather that I have seen in a long time.
I spent half the night trying to find out what model switcher I bought at the Hobby shop in York Maine last week. It looks like an Alco S1 switcher, it has maroon and gold paint scheme of the Boston & Maine ( B&M ) RR, and carries number 1170. I searched on line and found several photos of 1170, but there are a couple features that are not the same. For one, the head light is mounted on the top of the loco, and the real 1170 has it mounted in front near the top. The horn on my loco is on the top of the hood while the real 1170 has it on the cab. So it this point I don’t know what I have.[?]
JIM: I nearly did jump off the chair…I don’t like thinder that loud so close because that means the strike was nearby also. Today I found out that it hit a neighbors big 28" diameter oak tree. It stripped the bark off one side for 20 feet up and sent the wood flying into his house, he was one scared dude.
FERGIE: Sorry for all the rain coming your way from our coastline, so here is my weather station data for Leicester, Ma : www.weatherlink.com/user/grayfox1119 Now you can check it anytime, it is updated every 60 seconds with the latest weather data uploaded to their server from my Vantage Pro monitor. That way you will know what is coming your way withing 12 to 24 hours in Nova Scotia. I think you should put a “G” gauge out in your garden.
You guys realize that there’s a part II to the Animator vs. Animation, don’t you.
Even more hilarious
Howdy howdy. Mornin’ y’all.
Much smoother trip this time. Up and down without any problems whatsoever. And we were runnin’ at the head of the pack, so we had clear signals all the way. The quickest round trip I think I’ve ever made. Less than 8 hours up and about 9 hours back. I’m used to getting in at least 12 and 12…
Currently in Enola Yard, there is an ALCo FA on its way up north somewhere. No traction motors, just in tow. It says TICA and has a number of NYC137A (?), has blue, white, and green stripes. I was on the opposite side of the yard, so didn’t get the chance to snag a picture and I can’t find TICA on the net…
Off to bed for me. First out and will be definitely working again tonight. [tup]
