Elliots Trackside Diner IV, Under New Management!

Good Morning from Tipton IN ! [:D]

[:o)]

Good morning.

Partly cloudy and 72 here at the moment. Anybody who knows anything about Louisiana weather knows that can change in 5 minutes. Today’s high is expected to be around 90 and there’s a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. What else is new?

I had a good time last night watching an old Disney movie from the 70’s called ‘No Deposit, No Return’. It was nice to have a good laugh from a show that wasn’t crowded with CG special effects like most of the trash that’s cranked out these days.

Good Morning All…Its cloudy and 72 here this morning…I’ll have a slice of Garry’s Ky Ham, couple of eggs over easy, toast and coffee please…Thank you…Jeff sounds like a good movie…Sallie and I watched a pretty good Jimmy Stewart movie that we hadn’t seen Mountain Road on Turner Classic Movies…Like those older movies…nothing x rated and no cussing…OK I’ll get off my soap box…Have a good one…Jerry

Good morning, a very comfortable 70F here today under clear blue sky. This will only last for today, as the TS’s return tomorrow.

I’ll be off to the dentist in 2 hours for a root canal to save tooth #4, in the meantime I’m still trying to find out what type of Diesel switcher I have. It looks just like an S1, but the front headlamp is on top of the hood. All the photos that I have ever seen show the headlamp in front of the hood about 1 foot down from the top of the hood. Even the S2 and S4’s show the headlamp in front of the hood. Also, the horn is on the Cab on S series switchers, not on the hood , so what is this switcher that I have??? Anyone have any ideas?[?]

With all these people talking bout thunderstorms… It makes me feel happy.

75* and sunny over here! I guess Sue and I have all the nice weather today.

Fixed my passing siding yesterday ever since its destruction by the first batch of kittens… It’s functional now.

Speaking of passing sidings, Anyone know of a curved turnout with a 22" radius outside curve? If I could get one of those, I could make my siding longer and I could also add another one.

That’s it for now.

Mark

I almost laughed my socks off!

Ahhh…, for Breakfast, I’ll have biscuits & sausage gravy. [dinner]

That was me. My dad got it in an email. It is hilarious, ain’t it?

Yeah it was hilarious. ( I think I’m still laughing!)

Morning all from SmokyCal. As of the news reports today, we have 940 odd fires here in the North State, and the smoke’s even worse today. Went out to pick up the paper and came back in QUICK! Air quality today is supposed to be 184 or so, which means “Dangerous for Everyone”. Obviously, the Butte project is still on hold.

Flash–Prayers for your father. I’m glad that the cancer hasn’t invaded any organs.

Mark–doesn’t Peco make a curved turnout with a 22" outer radius–or very close? I thought they did. Also check out Sinohara, I know they make a whole series of curved turnouts.

Dick–You’ve got my sympathy on those teeth, buddy. Hopefully the dentist will dope you up with Percoset while he’s working on it–mine did when he worked on mine. It’s not that you don’t FEEL it, it’s just that with the Percoset you don’t really CARE! Works really well on broken ribs, too.

Cox–Glad I wasn’t the only one watching that Jimmy Stewart movie–darned good film. And you’re right, no cussing or CGI’s, just good old-fashioned movie making. I’ve always been a big Jimmy Stewart fan, especially some of those terrific westerns he made during the 'fifties like WINCHESTER '73 and THE MAN FROM LARAMIE. Great actor, in my book.

Well, Mom’s still here, until the weekend. Couldn’t take her home if I wanted to, it’s just as smoky up where she lives as it is down here. And since I can’t get into the garage to work on the train, we’ve been watching a lot of movies. She likes Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals (I don’t) and I like Westerns (she doesn’t) so we’ve come to a kind of truce–I’ll suffer through OKLAHOMA and SOUND OF MUSIC if she’ll suffer through my John Ford westerns. (“All those Indians shooting arrows at everyone.” &qu

Mornin’ Sorta.

I’ll be heading out to get milk and paint later. No word from Dad, but he’ll be comostose here shortly for the rest of the day.

Tom: I could look in the Catalog, but where are the WWII stuff coming from?

There are also games.

LOL. Awesome second vid. BTW, been workin today and yesterday on a small n scale layout. Kinda keepin a log about it. Pictures when it’s done.

Flash–

I got the troop cars from Walthers some years back–I don’t know if they’re currently available, but you could check their catalogue. The Army equipment that I found comes from Minitanks, and are made in Austria. I think they’re distributed by Roco. I’m going to have to check the Walthers catalogue–I think they carry the complete line. Not much available locally, so I’ll probably have to order what I need from Walthers.

Tom

Tom: I’ve been looking around… Haven’t found any. I am suspecting a Shinohara #6.5 or #6 would work ( I only know that the #7 is 28/20), but peco I think has something close, I just can’t find it again.

Shinohara make a 24/18 radius

and i believe it’s a # 6

i have 3 on my layout

Good afternoon…the root canal went great , I didn’t feel a thing. I have a young Indian doctor who does all my dentistry, and I have NEVER had a dentist this good, and this gentle. I had a shot of Novocaine, and I didn’t even feel that needle. The shot wore off about three hours after the root canal, and I haven’t felt any discomfort at all yet, and I have been out working in the yard bustin butt, so BP is up and I would have felt something by now. There was infection at the root, and the nerve was dying, so it was a good thing we decided to do this now.

TOM: Luckily, I didn’t need any more than the Novocaine…I am indeed lucky. BTW, I hope you are not near all those fires, it looks like your entire state is ablaze. We were watching the TV news here in the East, and a fire chief out in CA said that the firefighters are so tired, it like the end of the season tiredness for them and the season hasn’t even begun yet. They have asked for help from neighboring states to send crews to help out.

LUC: I think you should by that O’ Canada train set Luc, it really looks sharp !!!

ROB: Were you the one who was looking for Circus figures , tents etc for your layout? If so, I saw a big circuit tent layout, 3 ring, with all sorts of figures, at the York Village Marketplace hobby shop, on route 1 in York, Maine this past week. Anyone wanting this would really be impressed, HO scale.

Dinner bell just rang, Manicotti’s tonight,[dinner]

Good to hear. And dinner sounds great. I fixed Tuna Helper here since Mom was dog tired.

Luc, If I were you, I’d hold off on those Hawthornes. They’re an off scale, and there

Evening, Chloe - you in early to help your Sis cover the dinner crowd? I’ll have some chicken kabobs, please,

and a glass of wine.

Yeah, today was one of those days…[X-)]… hectic! PC, I was going to drop by the Diner earlier, but a few other things kept me occupied (and one manic client who wore me out, as fast as they talked!). I’ll take the blame for our slipping to page 2 today.[;)]

Hoople, [#welcome] back! Good to hear you’ve added(?) some more scenery to the layout. Sounds like your drumset and the layout will be competing for your [2c]. Time to get a summer job of some kind?

David (Parks), good to see you again - how’s your summer coming along so far? Any plans for your time away from school? Good that you and Jeff dodged those lightning bolts there.[:O]

Jeff, that animation was pretty funny - wonder how long it took to make that up? [:)]

RRNut, your weather could be worse - just ask the folks in Iowa. [:O] Just stay off your computer when the storms are coming through your area.

Well, I didn’t want to go around pointing fingers, but…
