I wish Ulrich well of course, but I’ m sorry, if politics in Germany is anything like it is here in the States, I don’t think he is well suited for it. Then again, if we expect change……

Todd - I subscribe to your statement. I don´t think I am the one to run for an office. Apparently, there are folks around who think differently. I doubt that there is much of a difference between the politics here and at your end of the Big Pond - maybe it is a little less noisy here.

Change will not come from the people we elect, change will only come from ourselves.

There is a nice smell coming from the kitchen. Petra has just made a chocolate cake, topped with cinnamon frosting - yummy! Have some, folks!

It´s a smell of Christmas, although both of us are not (yet?) in the mood for it. Time for a not so little poem?

When the snow falls wunderbar
And the children happy are,
When the Glatteis on the street,
And we all a Gluhwein need,
Then you know, es ist soweit:
She is here, the Weihnachtszeit.

Every Parkhaus is besetzt,
Weil die people fahren jetzt
All to Kaufhof, Mediamarkt,
Kriegen nearly Herzinfarkt.
Shopping hirnverbrannte things
And the Christmasglocke rings.

Merry Christmas, merry Christmas,
Hear the music, see the lights,
Frohe Weihnacht, Frohe Weihnacht,
Merry Christmas allerseits?

Mother in the kitchen bakes
Schoko-, Nuss - and Mandelkeks.
Daddy in the Nebenraum
Schmucks a Riesen-Weihnachtsbaum.
He is hanging auf the balls,
Then he from the Leiter falls?

Finally the Kinderlein
To the Zimmer kommen rein.
And es sings the family
Schauerlich: “Oh, Christmastree!”
And the jeder in the house
Is packing die Geschenke aus.

Merry Christmas, merry Christmas,
Hear the music, see the lights,
Frohe Weihnacht, Frohe Weihnacht,
Merry Christmas allerseits?

Mama finds under the Tanne
Eine brandnew Teflon-Pfanne,
Papa gets a Schlips and Socken,
Everybody does frohlocken.
President speaks in TV,
All around is Harmonie,

Bis mother in the kitchen runs:
Im Ofen burns the Weihnachtsgans.

And so comes die Feuerwehr
With Tatu, tata daher,
And they bring a long, long Schlauch
And a long, long Leiter auch.
And they schrei - “Wasser marsch!”,
Christmas is - now im - A…

Merry Christmas, merry Christmas,

Morning Folks!

Flo, Coffee Pleases

So, what am I still doing at home? Got a phone call at 7:30 AM, it was Dave. Seems he needs me at St Charles. Manger is on vacation and the counter person is running the shop by him self. So I am heading out there to help him out today.

Don’t know what time I will leave work tonight, it will be later than I was going to get off. So I decided to take the time to have a cup of coffee first to wake up. [C]

Ulrich A Politician, hum I guess we can still be friends! [:-^] Sure wish you a great deal of luck. Who knows, you just might get in offices!

Well, I need to hit the road.

Ken

it’s payday unfortunately I registered for my class last night at 12:30 AM odd time yes, it costs $589.90 so I may or may not be getting that train I wanted, I did ask mom if she was ok splitting the bill with me, let’s hope I have enough for gas and the train I want.

Mornin’ everyone!

Zoe, I’ll have a cup of dark roast coffee and a couple of those glazed sour cream donuts to start the day.

Ulrich, I always agree with Mahatma Ghandi, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” That’s the closest I will come to making a political statement here at the forum. I try to do my part.

Got up this morning to find the kitties food dish empty and Manét looking for more to eat… Guess his appetite is back. Gave him a dish of his canned food and he gobbled it up. Got out the pill pockets and put in the pills (2 pockets each with one pill) and put them on his dish. He just sat and looked at me… I put my hand down and pointed to the “treats” He sniffed at them, and down they went. He then meowed asking for more… I think he is better and thank God for the invention of pill pockets!

Have a busy day ahead so I better not hang around in here much longer.

Catch you all later!

Light rain off and on from Fri. to Mon. mid 60’s

GMTRacing the Los Angeles Times had a nice wrietup on John Fitch. He was going to produce a sports car using the Corvair engine and then they stopped making Covairs.

What are pill pockets for pets, this is the first I have heard of them.

Pill Pockets

Afternoon folks!

Chloe, I’ll have a toasted cheese sandwich, french fries, one of those big dill pickles, and a cup of decaf for lunch please.

Dennis, Jeffrey found it for you. The ones I am using are these: http://www.greenies.com/cats.aspx#/products/cat-pill-pockets They are just about irresistible for pets. I started using them when I had to medicate my mothers old cat (Sheila) I ended up with. She had a thyroid tumor and had to thyroid hormone. We started out with a ointment that was rubbed in her ears. Worked well and she didn’t mind, but good little Manét was right there to “clean” the old girls ears. I ended up having to hand medicate the old girl sticking my finger down her throat with the pill which was stressful for both of us (those little teeth are sharp!). The vet told me about the Pill Pockets and we gave them a try. Problem solved and old Sheila started to look forward to getting her pill every day.

Calling it a day for today, as I feel awkward. My vision is blurred, and I have a terrible headache. Will someone please facilitate the move to December this night?

CU

There it is that’s what I bought today, the BN will live again!

Evening All,

Just finished supper and getting ready to drink a cup of Java.

Yesterday ran 22 calls in 16 hours. I was sure glad to get off duty. Went up to the LHS today and picked up a Bowser H-21 car that has a steel clearance frame that sits inside it. I will probably build it Sunday. Finally finished my FP-7 ABA lashup. I will try to take a picture later.

Ulrich- Best wishes in your new endeavor.

Jeff- Prayers for your family to get through these tough times.

Ray- Glad Manet is doing better.

CDN Dennis- I hope Furnando is doing better.

Darryl- Congrats to your daughter and son.

Galaxy- I continue to say prayers for your family.

Ken- Hope you passed your test.

BN 24- It looks like a very nice set.

Hope everyone has a good evening and prayers for those in need.

Evening Dinners!

Flo, Beer pleases and I will buy around.

Work Front, man that was a long drive! It was a 84 mile round trip, Dave is going to have to help me out with some Gas Cash, none of the waiting for check stuff! I will be there again Saturday and maybe Sunday. I spent $12.00 today in gas.

But I am glad I went, made a pretty good amount of commission for a slow day, made a extra $85.00. If I could make that everyday I just be poor! [:-^] If Saturday is half way busy, I could make maybe $160.00! [dinner]

Manager Test. I have not had the time to take it yet, so I better call Dave and let him know! Besides Life, Work and BoS ( I was getting ready to log in and Bank Of Stupid called) getting in the way I know nothing about it! Reason I put it that way I don’t know if I can start it, stop it, then restart it, if it is timed and how long it should or could take? Last on line I took for a different company took 3 HOURS! I did pass the test, but I passed up that job to take this one! [banghead]

See you all later, yes Ziva, I am coming! [:D]

Ken

Good evening …

Where will we be for December?

A warm place, perhaps?

We were out today, the deer seemed like they were all over. They jumped front of the car, and I almost hit two of them at 2 locations.

Other than doing the first half of the grocery shopping I didn’t get much done today. I discovered I still have rather intense pain in my upper back. Guess I must have pulled a muscle when I was shifting my mother around.

Time for me to call it a night. See y’all tomorrow.

Evenin’ folks!

Janie, hot,decaf please!

Busy day today… Got the envelopes I printed up for a neighbor who is mailing out some scholarship donation requests (Her Daughter graduated from a university a few years back Suma Cum Laud and has a scholarship named for her and was one of our MLK Scholarship winners as well). She was going to pay me to print up the return envelopes… I told told her I would be glad to do the printing, but no way was she going to pay me for it! She is making a donation to the scholarship in my name. She picked up the envelopes at noon.

I then hooked the truck up to the little trailer to haul a large copier to the recycler for the Boy Scouts. The truck made to the Scout Office and then to the recycling center and back home with only a couple of bad clunks from the dangling stabilizer in the front… They told me at the dealers it was legal to drive it… They also said that didn’t infer it was safe, just legal… LOL I am supposed to drive out to camp and back the first weekend in January… May have to think twice about that. I will be stripping out some equipment I want to keep like the 700w inverter in it in the next couple weeks.

Garry, yep, it is suicide time for the deer around here as well. There is one dead alongside the road right across from the Scout Office… I have gotten so I really don’t like to drive at night this time of year!

Manét took his pills like a good boy tonight and looked around for more! He is actually begging for it. well for the pockets anyway. He is sitting right here near me on the floor as I type.

Got the rest of the trees made along the wall by the hillside tonight. Photos tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great night. Prayers for all in need!

I know how you feel Jeff, I sometimes get pulled muscles in my neck, upper back, and right under the shoulder blades.
