Pretty much whatever happens during an average day.
Welcome Kile!
This thread is just basically a diner online, w/o the food, boothes, or waiters, lol (and no bill). Call it the forum hangout for every1.
Oh, I guy I be B.S. ing with you guys from now on.
lol. nice.
I think our football team has a great chance of getting to the county championship this year. GO RAMS (and next year, GO HORNETS!)
Welcome to the diner C&O 2-6-6-6… Feel free to tell about your layout and your models. Enjoy yourself. Have a root beer float if you like and if JimCG has not finished the supply of them already.
Welcome C&O 2666,
Just come on in and have a seat, enjoy yourself, the first drink is on me, I visited the B&O RR museum on Tuesday it was fun. My wife and I are having the time of our lives here, and I haven’t checked any LHs yet!!! Well it’s time for me to go, my wife and I are goin’ to the hot tub to REEEEEEEELLLAAAAAAXXXXXXX!!![:D] See ya soon, Trainsrme1
My layout…If you havent reaslized I am modeling the C&O. I am going to model a freelance yard of the C&O in the summer of 1942 I am going to run Large articulated locomotives and run long coal drags.
I dont have any track laid down. I am just starting on benchwork this weekend and am hoping to get it done. All I have for a C&O fleet is 11 C&O 55-ton coal cars.
Kile
Good evening all! Another outstanding day for outside chores, but the end is nigh. TS Kyle is set to make a visit over the weekend. Still, we need the water for the well; and we have accomplished a great deal in a few days of clear weather that we couldn’t get to over the washout of a summer. Happy to report that the push mower (a 1988 vintage Snapper ), the chain saw, the weed whacker and the chipper have all behaved. That is unusual for us, as small motors generally don’t perform as advertised around here. I found that the chipper carburettor bowl (not used at all last year, so very grungy) cleaned up very well with toothpaste! It had lots of verdigris from the copper float. Had to wire brush that off, but when done, the little beauty started on the first gentle pull. [yeah]
I’ve got the ocean at the container dock finished. Here’s a look. The colour and the relative calm are to indicate a whole lot of distance from the “after the storm but still blowing” ocean of the rocky cove and the wharf scenes.
Paul:
…I was looking for pics on this, but must have deleted them, so here’s some new ones. The foam is made from WS Flex Paste - that dries white and has “body”, and as the name implies, stays flexible. That’s important if you don’t want the breakers to break when cleaning the layout! I mixed in chopped up transparent plastic sheet. I used a Magic Bullet to chop the plastic. Your own domestic dynamics will determine just what is appropriate![;)] I applied the mixture over the pre-painted and Mod Podged plaster waves, piling it up until the effect was what I wanted. Its going to be a 8ftX16ft shelf layout. I am doing HO scale if I havent said that already. I am going for 32inch min radius curves. But am going to shoot for 36inch. I am using all #8 turnouts for those large locomotives.
By Shelf, I presume you mean an around the walls? Single or Double level? What;'s the other end terminal gonna be?
Evening All…I am not a happy camper…My lift chair went out of sink again about an hour ago!!I am beginning to think the chair is a L-E-M-O-N!!..Looks like it will be a long night Hope I can get the service Guy back here soon! This time the chair stopped in the up position so I can’t set in it at all…Jerry
Good evening!
TrainsRme… I’m glad you got the B&O Museum. I like it myself. It’s in Baltimore, home of MB Klein which is one of the best hobby shops anywhere. I remember there being a hobby shop in Union Station of Washington, but I don’t know if it is stil there. have you been to the Smithonian?
C&O 2-6-6-6 … Thanks for telling about your layout plans. You have lots of fun ahead of you.
Packers … your teem will win all the remaining games. Correct?
Der John … I really like your water scenes!
Jerry …sorry to learn about your “lemon”

Lee
Hmmmmm…I dunno!
Could be…
Cup of chamomile tea, please.
***Jerry, sorry to hear of the continuing chair trouble. Hope you can have it taken care of quickly this time. Is it the same part(s) that are failing with it?
***C&O 2-6-6-6, you’re at least one step ahead of us here, as we’re still waiting on the train room to be completed before starting benchwork. Feel free to share pics of your construction as you progress with it. Helps to keep those of us in a “holding pattern” inspired.
Turning in early here. Y’all have a good night. [C):-)] Rob
Evening Gang: Just a short drop in. We moved the old IH tractor and the swather and the pick up and the rake back to the house today. That was 2 1/2 hours of 15 to 18 miles per hour. John brought the new tractor and the baler back yesterday evening. Now it’s clean up and haul the hay into the hay lot. I like doing that since it’s a type of job that doesn’t require a lot of concentration.
With that I think that I’ll hit the hay.
Good Night All
Good Morning from Tipton IN ! [:D]
Good morning.
It’s 66 and clear. The high should be in the mid 80’s with plenty of sunshine.
I have to take my mother’s car to the dealership in DeRidder this morning to find out why the check engine light won’t go off. The local mechanic can’t tell why because the cars computer won’t let his computer in. My father is gonna follow me there in his car so we’ll be coming back together. That’s good. I’ll have him stop at Wal-Mart so I can get a loaf of bread and some cheese. I cleaned off the layout yesterday and found the other tracks again. Gave it all a good vacuuming to remove the excess WS ground foam that’s been spreading around from the areas I’ve been working on.
