Hello, I just put up my x-mas layout in my livingroom this weekend. I have a 736 berkshire on the mainline, with a 6220 and 1615 and gang car on my other lines. It is complete with operating assessories…like the cattle, horse, milk platform, water tower, coal station, coal loader, log loader, freight station, gateman, coal elevator, and piggyback loader. And all this on just (1) 8x4 and (1) 3x4 put together in the shape of a boot or L shape in the corner of the livingroom. As far as power, I am using a ZW and KW transformers. All the trains are run by the ZW and the assessories hooked up to both transformers. Just repainted the platform tables to a better shade of green. Looks really good. Hey, tell me about your x-mas layout and what you have on it!!! thanks!
This year not yet. Last year my wife went on a business trip the week after Halloween. She returned to find our Christmas tree set up in the middle of my best christmas layout ever.
This year we are in a smaller house outside London and we had to leave our tree behind. I still have not figured out a layout.

The kids and I don’t set up our Christmas layout until after all the other decorations are in place. That’s usually the first week of December.
This year our layout will be multiple tracks and multiple scales, but will again be set up in the den on the floor, right in front of the fireplace.
I used to set up my 9 x 6 winter layout in the dining room after Thanksgiving, and would leave it up til Valentine’s day. 3 years ago, SWMBO suggested that I set it up permanently in the basement. It’s kinda done well in it’s new location.
I’ve heard rumors of a large expansion project… but have yet to witness said expansion in person, so I can’t confirm or deny its existance… we’ve see ‘images’ of said expansion project, but their authenticity again can neither be confirmed or denied. More information will be provided as it becomes available, or is released from the nether reaches of fife’s basement… located 1 floor below his house in an unnamed location that can neither be confirmed or denied…
Oh boy i cant wait to setup my Christmas layout this year! Ive been trying to get the wife to let me set it up since about mid september [:D] … but with no luck [:(]
Self imposed deadline is Thanksgiving!

I’m hoping to have Brent’s tender and passenger car back to him by Dec. 26. [:P]
I know I have started work on mine. It aint gonna be much, a couple loops of 0-27 with some Dept. 56 buildings.
Hmmm… now I’m wondering what you are going to do to the Vista Dome… chrome plating it? [tup]
After Turkey day, probably by 1st week of December…up until Epiphany (if you can figure that out…[:-^])
I have suggested not taking it down. That would eliminate having to set it up. The head decorator nixed that. It will go up next weekend, however. Usually stays up til late January.
I have an LGB for around the tree that has been up every year since I bought it in 1986. I then put up Lionel and HO and even an N gauge elsewhere in the house. Different age kids like different gauges and mine are for them to play with. I don’t have a “hands off” policy.
