For all of you detail conscious modelers, I have posted downloadable scale license plates in HO, S and O scale in PDF form on my website. While most are for Colorado (1958), other years and states are also included. They are offered at no charge.
Interesting. I did of course download the PDF. Many thanks.
Thanks, Randy!
Those will be very helpful for me, because of the variety you have. Much appreciated!

THANK YOU![tup]
That was a lot of work, thanks a lot!! [bow]
Here’s a site that you can generate your own personalized license plate for all US states and Canadian provinces:

Here’s mine:
This is mine.
Bob,
That’s a great place to start, but it doesn’t necessarily have the correct fonts or font colors, and it isn’t capable of doing the unusual number arrangements found on many plates. For example, the old Colorado plates had the county codes (AA, BL, YY, etc.) in smaller type and stacked vertically, as did many other states. That’s why I ended up generating my own. In HO, it generally won’t matter (unless you’re somebody like me), but in the larger scales, it is more noticeable.
I have used the site Railphotog mentioned to make plates also , and tks for your efforts as well lots of work.
When I started on my license plate project, one of the first places I went was to the site Bob mentioned. But because of the issues I mentioned earlier, I decided I wanted more accurate ones. To find images of actual plates I scrounged around on eBay, looking for good images of license plates for sale. When I found ones that were suitable, I used and rearranged numbers to make plates with different numbers. Since I’m modeling Colorado, circa 1958, the preponderance of plates are for that year and state. Most of the rest are also 1958, but from other states. After all, tourism has always been big out here. You can certainly do the same thing I did if you want to do the work yourself…or you can benefit from my efforts, the choice is yours.
THANK YOU ! Jerry
Many thanks, this will come in handy.

Hmmmmmm!!!
Another suspect FREE offer!
Will the ‘FREE’ police knock this one?
Doesn’t matter, I got mine - Thanks!

I didn’t understand your comment until I searched your previous posts and found the ones about your club’s free calendar. While my original post intially had a link to my website’s home page, I have modified that original post to direct interested parties directly to the respective PDF files. I hope that eliminates any potential problem that might arise.
A most gracious gesture. Thank You
Now where are my spectacles…

I thought maybe you’d gotten zapped by a speed camera, and were offering the picture for reproduction!
Uh, Jeff, if that’s you’re real license plate, you might want to pull it from the post. I’m not sure its a good idea to post personal identification information like that on the web… Just a helpful cautionary suggestion…

Thank you for your hard work on this Randy! Ken
I wouldn’t take too much notice, I just couldn’t resist the comment, as it turned out, I lodged an apology on the forum for seemingly offending people, that really got things going and we had over 400 downloads of the calendar in the first week.
When you think about it, nearly every comment on here is an ad of some sort, who likes brand X.Y.Z?, I purchased a brand X loco and it’s really great, it struck me as just a bee in the bonnett thing, in all honesty, the influx of business from the States to our few advertisers just hasn’t happened like we expected, I guess the cost of coming over to Australia to fill a prescription or have your car serviced is just too much to warrant the visit.
I for one appreciated your goodwill, downloaded the FREE number plates (although I model in N, but modern technology can overcome that) and thought your offer and your site was great - no complaints here, believe me!

No, it’s not my real one. Just the one on my wall.
