Wonderful ride up to Goschenen. Now it would be nice to see a ride down the other side, through the loops at Airolo.

Wow that was fantastic!! I was fortunate enough to live in Zurich for 8 months in '90. My wife was on a work assignment. We travelled by train probably twice a month and it was stunning. We road over this pass to Italy several times. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories Jim. You have the best job!!
Jim, thanks for the video. My wife and I have done the Gotthard several times while visiting our friends in Zurich. We’ve also done the the Gotthardmatterhorn Bahn from Goschenen to Realp to ride the Dampfbahn furka bergstrecke - ref. the last scene in your video just before going into the (old) big tunnel.
There are many videos of the ride thru the Gotthard (north and south sides) on Youtube as well as many other Swiss railroads such as the Dampfbahn.
As I write this, the lettercarrier delivered TRAINS mag. Great article.
To all-If you like riding trains(and I suspect you do), Switzerland is a must!

Scenery was awesome, the Swiss know how to run a railroad, the track structure is light years ahead of what we have here in the USA . At least it looks that way to me, where can I sign up ?? Video very well done!! A must on my Bucket list!!

If it’s not possible to have the Video camera lens right up flush with the windscreen, can’t you use a polarizing filter? the reflections on the windscreen were a distraction.
However, the scenery was really beautiful, thanks for the video.

Fabulous!!! Just last summer I boarded a train fro Zurich at the station in Goeschenen. Nice to see what our engineer saw.
The Swiss and their trains and RR development have astonished all RR fans in the world. Been there twice an enjoyed every milepost of the rides.
This video alone makes my subscription to TRAINS worthwhile. Riding the trains in Europe is always a treat, but this perspective is an exceptional.one that most of us never get to see.
