And to make it train related - saw a Loram RG318 grinding set up - over the weekend. Looks like a big, slow-moving caterpillar - was just moving to another location. Lots of grinders involved and a cute little caboose. Very different - would have loved to have it stop and been able to inspect it more closely. But maybe someday…
Let’s get a party up for a private-car ride on the Heartland Flyer. Mookie’s in charge of aranging routing via Valentine, Neb., which looks like it may be tricky.
Hmmm…will have to reroute Amtrak, will have to sneak around BNSF, will have to get Nebraska road map to Valentine, will have to get Driver out of work and will have to make sure I can arrange bail…
Yeah, we can do that - but afraid it will be during the middle of the night. We do nothing train-wise during daylight!
I don’t have my railroad atlas with me. I believe we could skip Valentine and originate the trip in Loveland, Colo., on the UP, then use the BNSF Amarillo line to pick up the Heartland Flyer in Oklahoma City.
Sadly, Loving County, Tex, does not appear to be on anybody’s rails.
Well, now that I have spent the morning and lunch out with my Boss Valentine,
Happy Valentine’s Day (with accompanying hugs, as appropriate) to Sister Jen, Paula, Nora, Sarah, and all of the other ladies who add the perfect mix of observastion, curiosity, intuition, nurturing, wisdom and recipes to the Forum!
And to all those who are single…a song that’s uplifting…“Nobody Does It Better (Baby You’re The Best)” by Carly Simon. It’s a nice song. And you feel better if you keep hearing “Baby you’re the best” in your mind. That and squeezing stress balls are the best things for those who are single on this day. (you can get those things at any dollar store, you just need rubber balls you can SQUEEZE).
anyways, “You’re the Best” is a really good song, even if you end up with someone or are already with someone it’s still “the best”…I know, it’s supposed to be sung to James Bond, but who cares?
