The article you linked to is over a year and a half old. There have been a number of events since Mar 2005.
Walthers has recently signed a contract for exclusive distribution rights of Rivarossi products in the US. While the 2006 Walthers catalog had some Rivarossi products, I wouldn’t be surprised to see far more Ravarossi stuff in the 2007 catalog. perhaps even locomotive repair parts.
sigh So much for a cheap 2-6-6-6. Oh well what’s another $500?
Heck for that much money, maybe I should buy my first brass.

Well, I just bought a whole batch of US prototype Bachmann rolling stock in HO from a dealer in the UK. It is for a friend (I am only using N scale) but at 1 pound (less than $2) a piece why not! Especially as they are new in boxes fresh from dealer stock.
So why not look at the UK dealers and see what price you can get?
