[#welcome] NOOby or not, you’re certainly welcome to our “little group”. It will be nice to hear your expert opinions on railroading, especially from the “on the road” operations standpoint. Again, welcome, and please come back often.

Welcome.

Welcome to the forums!! Always glad to see someone come in, who can share their experiences with us all.

Welcome! The more the merrier.

Hi Fort Worth - welcome to the group. Since I saw your name on another post so my first question was wonder what the explanation is behind Hog and Tow. Care to elaborate?

Mookie

“hog” as in “hogged out” [expired on the hours of service] “tow” as in “towed in” [unfortunatley where our overtime is made] usually in “limbo time” waiting for a ride. thanks for the welcome, folks…cool site![tup]

Our version is “Twelve and tow, or we don’t go!”. Of course, that doesn’t apply on my particular job.

I like that!!! “twleve” is an everyday [or night actually] thing on Uncle Pete’s Ft Worth service unit…the $$ is nice, but I appreciate an early quit more. [(-D]

Welcome!!

I sometimes get stuck for twelve, but always have to “tow” myself home. Usually my job works eight hours–no more, no less. A quit is something you get as a courtesy of the person relieving you.

Those “twelve and tow” folks are usually on those jobs by choice. I prefer a more equitable balance between income and family life.

Welcome aboard! [#welcome]

And if I come to TX, I hope you say the same. [:o)]

Welcome to the forums!!! glad to have another railroader on to answer questions for us.

stay safe

Joe

“welcome to Texas…now go home” [(-D] …I am really just kidding!..of course you’d be welcome in the Lone Star State!! thanks to all!![tup]

Welcome. Glad to have an experienced railroader in the forum to answer questions. Since Frisco did away with their semaphore signals, I never have a clue as to what is coming or when.

As said above, this is a pleasant group…mostly. And if you can’t find information here, you can probably get along without it.
