Enjoyed the layout tour. Always look forward to your videos.
Thanks much, Andy Keeney
NICE JOB KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!
Make the click on layout pictures bigger so we can see the details. And publish Andy’s Cajon Pass layout’s track plan.
Otherwise it was a great tour.
It is refreshing to see that even MR’s staff have layouts still under construction. That means when they answer questions and post comments, they are based on real time experiences gained at their workbench - there is nothing like first hand knowledge and it is much appreciated. That is what makes this such a rewarding hobby - the sharing of ideas and the down to earth how to articles have been invaluable. Thanks folks! Great work.
thank you for keeping us up to date on the progress. I enjoy seeing “you experts” aren’t any farther along that us “normal” folks are. I sometimes get frustrated with my lack of progress on my layout, but then you go and show these works in progress and that gives me more motivation and hope to trudge on! So much to do, so little time! ah such a mess I am in, and I love it!!!

Thank you for the great pictures of the layouts. It is so nice to see all the smiling faces, it just proves what a wonderful hobby model railroading is to all who enjoy it. Thank you for the great work on the magazine Model Railroader, I look forward to receiving it each month. Keep up the good work.

I m a beginner with a 9x12 ft. layout in my garage…I have designed it so my wife’s car a (saturn) drives under one side of the layout and my pacifica slides to the right of the layout…with the heat of the florida sun soon approaching it’s peak I am worried that I may be in the throws of a nightmare! I will have 3 levels (no grades just three seperate lines Pensy. Baltimore and Virginia. While I am so excited to work on my lifetime dream…I am also wary as every time I go to work on the layout I find another nightmare. I would appreciate any input!!! My main concern is that for a beginner I may have tackled too big a project. I am worried about heat , track and switch problems…if anyone has any tips I would appreciate it before I go any further
Great pic’s, where is your layout Cody? I suppose you are still running on the MR Staff layout? I have some pic’s of you and Rick running on the layout back in 2004 when i was visiting.
Hi Ron,
Good luck with your expansion project. I’m happiest when I’m building benchwork, so as long as I’ve got some basement left, I’m in my element. My general rule of thumb is to complete any expansion project before I start the next. It keeps things from getting too overwhelming.
Thanks for writing.

What I nice idea to tour a number of layouts in your area. It would be awesome to have a directory of layouts in Lancaster, Pa. that could be open on one day for tours by model railroaders like myself. Nice Job!
Great magazine, I get a lot of enjoyment reading the many articles and reviews of new products. I have been a modeler in HO gauge for many years on and off. Since I have retired, I have spent the last 5-8 years building the layout that I never had time for in the past. I get many ideas from MR. Keep up the good work
These were great pictures of some other railroaders in other parts of the country. Thanks for the great show.
I think it is great to show layouts in different phases other than done! Maybe this should become a feature of the magazine.
Lookin’ good all. The M&WV is in its first rebuilding, so I understand all of the unfinished layouts. David Popp’s layout with all the fall scenery is my personal favorite, as I modeled fall on the previous M&WV. Have a look at the first M&WV at this URL: www.graftonandgreenbrier.com/mwv.htm
hope to see some Videos of the staff layouts soon!

Great tour. Especially now since I’m in the process of planning my first N scale layout.
An interesting collection of photos from the various MR editor’s home layouts. Keep building and good luck!
I enjoyed the tour. Jack
Great seeing other peoples artistic tallents.
