India providing 500 railway coaches as hospitals now 5000

500 cars - that is a lot of trackage if they are all going in one spot.

Anyone know standard length of India’s cars ? At 80+ feet that is 40,000 ft + or 8 + miles. I would expect that the main problem will be HEP power and HVAC to the cars ?

Railway coaches are not going to even scratch the surface. Article on how fast Covid-19 is spreading.

Here is additional information including what retired cars are to be used and locations that will park the cars. Evidently less than 100 cars have been converted. 54 listed in the link below but imagine that will change daily ?

This sounds a lot like Monon’s home-built streamliners in the other direction.

Well India is claiming more coach conversions. Find it hard to believe.
