I am one step closer to being a small business owner–I now own three Internet domains.
With the train wreck that once was PhotoBucket, what are others using to post photos to the forum?

Richard - I am with Imgur now and find it easy to learn and operate. It´s also much faster than PB ever was.
Afternoon diners,
Happy 4th of July and Patron Saint’s Day.
Ray- Our dog Murray threw up in the car multiple times at least 5 times if I remember correctly. Tell your son that it does stop.
Brent- That’s a modern history story that most everyone will believe.
Ulrich- I’m glad that Heidi has her funnel top lid back on.
We had a 50/50 chance of rain yesterday but never came. Talking about rain gets a little disappointing.
I have an acquaintance that started a financial website that just runs ads and has interviews with those in the know. He knew little about stocks and investing when he started. He now has a medical one, an alternative medicine site and a couple of others. He is making a killing and his sites are worth big money, it all started by grabbing domain names and selling them.
Good luck!
Good afternoon.
Richard. I just started with Flickr. I learned what to do in the Alternatives to Photobucket thread. I see I can upload photos in my iPhone into Flickr and I have not yet tried that . I hope to find more computer time later this week .
Ulrich… I wish I could have some PFP’s. I like the photos you are sowing.
[:-^]
To all of our Gang South of the 49th and Alaska or serving elsewhere in the world.
Johnboy out…
Standing at attention and saluting you.
Someone steered me to railimages.com. I’ve used it to post my last two photos.
Afternoon Fellow Diners!
Flo, seems I was at the top of the page so Red, White and Blue drinks for everyone!
Has anyone heard how Rick is doing? Did YGW hit Rick?
Work Front. I was hopping for a Sky Rocket of a day! [:D] More like a Cap Pistol day and the cap was wet! [sigh] Only 2 people for the whole day.
Good news for the day! I am down two 270.25 pounds! [:D] While I only lost 1.75 pounds in 11 days a lost is a loss. Thinking in around 100 days I will be down too 260. I am not on a diet to lose weight, just to lower my A1C.
Drinking Fiber. Been having a hard time down loading for sometime now. (Getting old sucks) Started drinking fiber around Friday of last week. Helped some but not what I was hopping for. This morning I had the call at 1:15 AM. Then again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again! Think I hit the head about 6 times in the next 1.5 hours! [sigh]
This Morning I had another calling. When I was doing the paper work, well I found Blood on the T/P! [^o)] Nothing in the undergarments so far today and it been 12 hours. If I see any again, I am heading to the ER!
You folks think I have something to worry about? I hope I just poped a Hemi so to speak.
Latter, Ken
cudaken: Sent you a PM
As to the question of posting, I have a website that I run for a different purpose than railroading. I “hide” my pictures on that site.
Good evening all.
I just had to come in now…
Flo - I will take a RBF, and some ice for the fat lip from YGW’s crew…[;)]
YGW - Sorry, I couldn’t resist jumping in on the fun… Especially since you started it by having someone hit me! [:P] I just would like to know, one thing… Which one on your crew was mad at me? And, any knowledge of why?
Nice progress on the hobby barn, all things considered. (Violence and all!)
Ken - I’m ok, thanks for asking! [;)] I did hit a $15 spiff on a AC sale, but didn’t do much more today…
Brent - So, I must now say, in the voice of Spongebob… Happy Lief Erickson day! [:D]
Photo’s fiasco - Switching to flickr, (or Google photo, now I’m debating it.) I’ve figured out how to post (on my PC) from Flickr, but if Google is more intuitive from my tablet… We shall soon see.
W*%k - Decent day, for a holiday and all. Much better than Sunday was… And, YGW’s crew gave me a much better story for the real fat lip I have… From catching a box the wrong way in the warehouse Friday…
Nope… Now, I was hit with conduit, and then a jackhammer! Much more “manly” story…
Hope all are well, and all have a good night!
Enjoying my summer big time. This is my wife’s first week of retirement and she’s going to help me clean out the basement to make room for my hobbies, including a large area where I will build modules for my freelance Walton Rock & Mineral Railroad.
Just bought 12 more Walthers Ortner hoppers from a used collection recently acquired by Maritime Hobbies & Crafts in Halifax (NS, Canada). I now have 15 and they look great loaded with real Nova Scotia gypsum and pulled by several locomotives. Still waiting to see if a coupler breaks under all the weight.
On the plus side, just took up golf again after 35 years. On the minus side, am now on medication for Lyme disease after a nasty tick bite with target bullseye developing a week later.
Cheers, Dennis
Hi JaBear. I missed the significance of the winking smiley. Sorry if I offended you with my comment.
I agree, but from what I can remember of my high school history exams, they were all about rote memorization, not intelligent discussion.
Dave
Hello, Everyone!
What a glorious and beautiful weekend! This was the sunrise in my back yard yesterday morning…
Actually, that’s my neighbor’s yard, I’m at the back property line. Amber waves of grain, indeed!
Hi, Ken! Thanks for keeping my thirst quenched, buddy! Hey, was that YOU that drove your Hot-Rod Lincoln into the sink-hole a few days ago?
http://www.kmov.com/story/35777514/sinkhole-swallows-car-in-downtown-st-louis
That was the same day you said you drove INTO Saint Looie. You really meant you were driving IN TO St. Louis!
We cut down ten very tall trees over the past few days. A few spindly old maples and some tall, punky basswoods. Whew, what a job! After a while I realized old man Wilson (the cat) wasn’t around. We looked everywhere… finally, Mrs. Pullman went to gather eggs and—
She heard a voice call out “aint nobody in here but us chickens, maam”
What a character that boy is. He didn’t mind the noise of the chain saw he said he was just afraid of being so close to all that W**K!
The caboose is ready for you if you ever want to visit, Ken. Pet friendly, too! I doubt Sparky TWD will be in the mood to chase ducks and chickens around. By my estimation were about 575 miles east of you!
Well, that’s all the news here… for now. Glad to be in the Provinces this month. It was 44 years ago that I had the pleasure of crossing Canada by rail— both on
Thanks Ed. I am recovering but the side effects of the medication are not nice. A week and a half to go on the meds. I frequently get ticks on me during my hikes and at our Bay of Fundy property. They also have tick problems at my wife’s school and she brings them home sometimes. Her school (former since she just retired) is in a high risk Lyme area - one student had it last year. So the domestic debate revolves around who brought the tick home that feasted on me overnight! LOL
Good Afternoon!
It´s dry weather today - for a change. While southern Germany is sweating at temperatures up to 35°C, we are lucky to reach 15°C today. Way too cold for the season.
Tick bites can be a nasty thing. I was on antibiotics after bein bitten, but that was more than 30 years ago.
Not much planned for the rest of the day. I ran my steam train for some time this morning and took a nap after lunch. I may continue the day with watching steam videos on the “Tube” - like thios one:
The loco is former ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railway) class 399, a quite powerful 2 1/2 ft. 0-8-0 steamer built before WW I. Actually, it is a 0-8-2T, as the tender also supports the weight of the loco. Other than a Forney, this type of loco is able to negotiate really sharp curves without too much overrhang at the rear.
Enjoy the video!
Good morning …
Ed … LOL … You cat is in fowl territory. [:-^]
Ulrich … I like your photo with the arch bridge.
This should be very convenient. I can easily upload photos in my I-Phone into my new Flickr account. If I open Flickr in the I-Phone it has a little camera icon, so I can imediately take a picture which goes directly into my Flickr account. I just posted examples in the thread, Alternatives to Photobucket.
Hopefully, my friend, Dan, will come home from the hospital today. He has improved a lot, but he has a long recovery at home awaiting him.
Garry - I am glad to hear your friend Dan will be home soon! Continuing [angel] for his recovery!
I found to short videos on Austrian NG steam, shot with a HD camera drone, that I just find amazing!
lunch time !
Hello all. Hope everyone in the states had an exciting holiday. And I hope our neigbher far and wide had a great weekend. We worked on the hobby barn a lot. Clean up of excess material, putty and caulk etc…Had to return to w**k to get rest [*-)]
Rick - First let me say I am sorry - BUT you know what they say “nothing runs like a Deere” or in this case “packs a wallop like a deere” [:-^] sorry about the fat lip ! But you can now tell your coworkers you fought a GIANT deere and came out the on better end : ) you should see the Deere !
JaBear - LOL Funny photo ! It was the Deere that smacked Rick ! That Deere believes in eqaulity - it wants to get as good as it gives !
Ed -Your Kitty is hanging out with some “paltry” characters there ! [swg] That is a beautiful sunset ! Thanks again for posting the photos.
Garry- LOL Comment on Eds cat ! Glad your friend is getting better : )
Old School - Lyme diease is tough. I have had it twice. It sure wipes one out.
Ken - What are you drinking for fiber ? Saw dust ? I have a suggestion. Switch from the B&O coal dust to the hardy N&W coal dust and it will cure what ails you [(-D]
Johnboy - Love your post [Y]
Batman - What in the world are you reading science fiction ?
Ulrich - I have to applaud you. Your RR looks so good that if one didnt look hard you would think it real !!!
NY-John - What is sausage potato scramble ? Sounds good ! I like both potatos and sausage. [dinner]
Rob - Thanks there is a lot of sweet equity there !
Randy - Hello
YANNIS - That is so nice of you to wish us in the states a Happy birthday - thanks
Gotta run

Good afternoon from the sunny and hot West Coast.
Just back from dropping the kid off at the transit loop, he is going to Vancouver to shoot his “Man In The High Castle” stuff today and it could be an all nighter. He is doing a lot of juggling over the next two or three weeks between that and “Legends of tomorrow” all next week, mixed in with some “Deadpool 2”. Some days he has both on the same day. He knows he is going to be exhausted and has asked if I can drive him if he is too tired. Money is incredible, for an 18 year old. In two weeks it should be just “Deadpool 2” for three to six weeks.
YGW
Genetics is fascinating, give it a read sometime. My wife is a Vet. and does a lot of genetic screening, she can have a good idea of what you’re going to end up with if you breed a certain pair of animals together. Although there is not testing for everything yet.
Where species are going is not solid science, but screening can sure push them in a certain direction if you want certain strengths improved and/or weaknesses eliminated. Better beef and milk cows, or chickens that are plumper, on and on.
Our little neighbour had one of these when she was born.
A certain percentage of people are born with tails. She had hers removed at 18 months and there is no evidence of it today. Percentages of the population such as Albinos, Dwarfs and a litany of others are born each year. Just as you would say that a certain percentage of people are born with blue eyes, the same applies to the more rare conditions. For some they will become a larger percentage and others, such as having a tail, they are on the decline.
Genetics is not science fiction, it
Brent ewwww. I did not know that. I did not know people could be born as cyclops’s until I saw one. Enuf said about that.
YGW Nice to see the hobby barn coming along.
The computer was slow My son said to get a solid state hard drive. I got a Samsung, but their migration software would not recognize the drive. I cloned my original hard drive with another program and the computer was no faster. Lots of “stuff” going on at boot up. I decided to do a clean install and that didn’t work. I tried to restore the disk with an image backup and all that did was scramble the boot up section in ways that I could not fix.
Cut to the chase, I bought a new case, motherboard, memory and an AMd Ryzen 5 processor. I have build 5 or 6 computers but none in the last 10 years and everytime there is some major change in connectors, memory, video cards etc. It’s much faster than it would have been had a clean install worked.
The motherboard has weird colored LED’s that alternate if I put the computer to sleep. I guess milllenials think that is cool.
It all went together easy enough. The cables are marked as to where they should go or are configured so uniquely that there is only one place they could go. It all works as does all my software except Microsoft Office 2010! It seem I used up all my installations. I am trying WPF free Office.
For those of you who use Firefox, Mycroft Project (google it) has a search engine app that allows you to use the usual firefox search box and the specify that it search Ebay. I don’t have to go to Ebay to start a search.
