Gidday Chloe, don’t know why, but could I have a banana milkshake, please
I found that MT. Carmel Yard photo very interesting, Ed, thanks for posting it.
Hope the MIAs are OK, and that, at least, York1John is getting his daily ration of bacon and eggs.
Another photo from Albert Percy Godber, this one of the Taupo Totara Timber Co No: 7 , a 2-4-4-2 Mallet built by Alco in 1912. Now Glenbrook Vintage Railway No” 4, currently in storage after its boiler certificate ran out.
Nothing much going on over here, but the weather guy said it’ll hit 70° today, after the morning sprinkles.
A banana thing does sound good Bear. I’d have some of Judy’s vanilla wafer banana pudding for breakfast, but that stuff dissapeared quick
Thanks for the update on Rich Ed. A bit puzzling and hope he’s still OK. Hopefully he drops a line soon.
You were gonna be mentioned in roll call yesterday Terry, but figured its pretty usual that you drop by once in a blue moon to say hi
How ya been doing my brother?
Liking the pics here, Thanks. Im running a bit low, so perhaps I’ll go look for another one over coffee to edit in.
Edit
David said he needs some 100 foot boards. Nevermind the stinken undercarriage, just chain the trucks to the thing, and hope you don’t run into a hairpin somewhere down the line
Good Morning, Diners, A scone with jam, and a Vanilla latte with 4 shots of Espresso on the go, please.
I’ve been up since 2 AM Central Time/Chicago Time here in Iowa, trying to figure out the chassis for my HO Bachmann Diesels (Both GP40-2s, 2 different models on the inside) and a few other things are on my mind too, 9 Days of Mourning for Pope Francis began yesterday, Left him a prayer (since I’m a Catholic), and Now we wait for the new Pope to be elected, My brother Bobbie (Most of you might know him as BobTehGameh on here) is getting Confirmed tonight by the Bishop of the Diocese of Des Moines at our church, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, hoping all goes well for him!
I’m also looking into Lunatrain and anything related to it since it’s only a few months old (plans were announced in September 2024), the thread can be found on my profile.
Good afternoon diners! Flo, could I please have tuna salad in a pita pocket with lettuce tomatoes and provolone, and an Arnold Palmer.
Sorry I haven’t been around lately, the last 10 days or so have been crazy. All the final outdoor yard spring prep finally done (except 12 yards of mulch).
TF, yup the Corvette has power steering. But it wasn’t born with power brakes but I added those way back when I got the car. Pulling it out of winter storage Thursday, spring is now officially here!
Is an option for you to just and power steering to the stock front end?
Been busy resurrecting our cycling interest. The last 2 years our riding has dropped way off. Between my wife’s medical issues, and our joint stiffness and general lack of motivation we hardly rode at all. Then a couple of weeks ago a friend suggested we check out e-bikes. Wow, what a difference? You can get all the exercise you want or let the motor do more work. It’s a real game changer. At 73, it’s made a huge difference. My wife even said we should consider loading them up and visiting all the rail trails we used to. The one problem is my new crossover doesn’t have a trailer hitch, but that gets remedied Monday! But then we need a new bike rack because of the mounting and weight of e-bikes, so that will be next. Fortunately we got back a good tax return to cover most of it.
So that’s it for now except a belated Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. And good health to us all.
Afternoon all, in the process of trying to recover my files from my iPhone 8 and iPhone XS because they have a significant amount of images from my early railfanning days (quite a few Coaster/NCTD images on the iPhone XS since it was my main phone when I lived in California for 3 1/2 months or so
Looking forward to a Wisconsin family visit in a week or so. Its always good to have something to look forward to.
Yes, although the conversion kit went way up in price since it was first considered, one may have to bite the bullet here.
Those E-bikes sound like a winner Chris. Getting some good exercise on the flats, letting the electric motor take you up hill, and coasting down the hill. Perfect!
Well, haven’t quite decided what the plan is for today, but getting there.
Morning Diners, Eggs on toast, an OJ, and some pancakes too, please
Went to the Confirmation Mass last night, it was a blast to see Bobbie get confirmed , listed the iPhones on FB Marketplace and sold one, I’m closer to getting my first ES44AC primer unit from Atlas in HO-Scale
Might be heading to Florida for the summer - the Orlando Miami area to catch some Tri-Rail trains while I’m on vacation, I will upload pictures for the Forum
Good afternoon Diners.
Just calling in as I am playing ‘nurse’ to Dawn. She is ill in bed and not getting up. Grandchildren are away playing soccer. Will be back later.
I have managed to spend 30 minutes in the train room.
It will be months before this year’s flowers have bloomed and died, so hopefully the trees from this bucket can streatch to give the impression of a forested mountainside!
…and this afternoon has yielded another batch of trees. Green fingernails are an ocupational hazzard. Was able to do both deciduous and evergreens. The latter have dark green ground foam for the foliage. A small amount of the deciduous gets caught up in the evergreen working container, so some variation creeps in, just as in nature, I suspect.
