Hi der5997,
I guessed your model castle was Caernarvon, no mistaking.
Paul.
Jimmy, thanks for the reminder.
Here’s a natural gas storage facility on my layout.
The mock-up industry is a plastics factory…
Paul, indeed it’s distinctive. By happy chance the Dover Publications cardstock model is close to N Scale!
Afternoon all. Thr jamboree has gone really well
Got my soldering iron, will start dismantling layout on Sunday. I think the duckunder was not helping my back. Will have to start a new one with no duckunder
I think I did well at the raffle for the Jamboree.
Also picked up a rapido trains centerbeam for 35 bucks
Keep us up-to-date on your progress! Have fun.
Likewise. I had a similar challenge with my duckunder. Dismantling it meant a major re-routing of traffic.
Morning all.
Open house on my layout today, so this’ll be ab interesting day
Morning,it is raining here coffee please, not much to been done
Morning Flo, I’ve just had my lunch and so I’d like a large white coffee, please.
When I first saw the words, ‘Team Track’ used, I presumed they referred to Sidings for a MOW Train equipment.
When I found out the true meaning, I thought that sounds fantastic, a version of our ‘Railway Goods Yards’.
On my layout, I do not have room for any specific Industries, but I did want a Team Track to allow for some Switching, along with Yard Classification.
To cater for Industries close to the Yard of my Free-lanced Shortline, I have a Team Track, named ‘Cargo Fleet’, after a place on the Southbank of the River Tees, Middlesbrough, UK.
The Trackwork leads from the Eastend Run-round and there is a siding to park Cabs or Locos.
There is a longish Spur for on/off-loading Centrebeams, Flatcars and Hoppers, Pressure and Gravity (I think that a manufacturer might be offering one of the ‘Shapeways’ versions of a Gravity off-loading unit?)
An adjacent Spur has a Loading-dock, made-up from multiple Pikestuff HO kits, for Boxcars, with a short Spur used for End-loading, albeit not used much these days.
This Spur may have an A-Frame Overhead Crane for on/off loading Flat-cars to Flat-bed Trucks, although I am not sure how common these are in the USA?
A Pikestuff Engine House acts as an Office and stores two Forklifts, one large and one Boxcar size.
The SBT Co. offers extensive use of these facilities to the Local Industries in the Area, including an hourly Hire rate for the Forklift(s) with an Operator, if required.
All this means that within the range of Wagons listed, I can Switch whatever Industries I can invent.
Paul.
Morning Yall, I might have gotten a GP7 preserved last night! Also gonna trade trains with my friend today.
Good afternoon Diners. A large coffee and a cream cake please, Zoe.
A cold, cloudy day with showers.
I spent yesterday in hospital. A muscle spasm or something and I cannot walk. Anyway I am home, but struggling to get about.
Not sure I will make it to the train room, but I shall try. (Thank goodness we have an elevator).
David, I feel for you, as my back has been sore since I made a batch of trees a week or 10 days ago. My mistake was to do that task while standing at our kitchen table.
Lesson learned, today’s contribution was made while seated. A tad more awkward, but no aditional muscle strain (I hope!)
Yes. I do not know what happened. One minute walking okay, the next in pain and agony. At the hospital they thought it could be a blood clot, but tests proved negative; thank goodness.
Needless to say the train room was a no-go.
I known about back pain .I have bad disk in my back. have a good evening.ho[e to get in train room Monday after making calls
Evening all.
I had light attendance at my open house, 3 people in four hours… so im a little bummed from that honestly. Hope everyone is doing ok
Good Morning Diners. Janie, bacon, eggs, and coffee please.
Another weekend gone in a flash. Oldest daughter’s college graduation Friday night, spent Saturday working on home projects (mostly hauling dirt for my wife’s deep raised garden beds) and then dinner with the family celebrating my daughter’s graduation, then Sunday was running around with some buddies and then more house work. Nope. No train time.
Jimmy, bummer on the open house attendance, but good on you for offering your layout up for tours. Looks like you did well with the raffle!
David, hope your back feels better soon. That can be brutal.
trainman90, do you have a new layout plan in mind?
Gotta run. Work is calling. Hope everyone is doing well and stops in soon.
Good afternoon Diners. A large coffee on the go please, Zoe.
Had. the physiotherapist this morning. A number of exercises to do.
Now a late lunch to have.
Morning Diners, Coffee to go please!
Found 2 baby robins out of their nest yesterday, took them in and they are doing well, it’s hard taking care of baby birds , Teagan’s Birthday is today, she is now 4! Hoping everyone has a good day today!
