Lionel Super O switch 112 R

Any advice is appreciated! I have three Super O 112 R switches I can’t get to work. One had a bad ground post so I replaced the rivet with a small bolt and nut. I now get voltage between the bolt and the rail but switch still doesn’t operate.
The other two chatter so I think I have a short somewhere but not sure where to start.
Thanks!
Gary

I think your post is more likely to get answering info on the Model Railroad or Toy Trains forums.

He has a second post on this. I have moved that one to the Classic Toy Trains forum.

I notice that there has been interest in other Super O switch-related topics recently, so it will be interesting to see the advice he gets.

You can move posts?

Yes, that can be done. There should be a little pencil icon next to the title that lets you do so. It does not, if I recall correctly, work if you are on Firecrown’s Naughty List.

Since there are very few posts, I guess off topic stuff (that should be in another forum) is ok now?

Sounds right. I’ll try to figure out how to move it.
These forums are a bit confusing.
Thanks

Thank you!

I posted this in the other topic, copying it here for visibility’s sake.

Can confirm this happens. Those little brass tabs sometimes touch the activating rails, and both derailing features are trying to work at the same time. That’s when you get that 60 cycle per second chatter. Quickly followed by burning up the switch motor.:frowning:
