March Coffee Pot, 14 years and still going. Green beer for all those above the Mason-Dixon, green grits for those below.

Yesterday found us in wet woods. Lots of water down east. Put some corn in feeders and mineral blocks out.

Today, visitation and funeral. Lunch with Wifey.

49 adn cloudy. Maybe Train Box and some TV.

Crazy time change. Leave it like it is.

Later.

Good Evening from wet 51°F Southern Ohio,

Just got home from Vigil Mass and my bride had Lasagna made for supper. The kids were out with friends so supper was quiet.

Good evening all,

Finally got to 13.1 today. Did it in 3:35 for a 3.65 MPH average and a 16:25 pace. Now to work on race day setup! Went to Mass and watched 3 Hill Street Blues. Windy and wet here. Foyt team did not have much luck in qualifying. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

I go on a phone forum sometimes and they say after iphone 7 the improvements are minor.

Phish…Your wife and her sister are in the driver’s seat. They can do just about anything they want unless the other siblings file an injunction and a court agrees. Not likely! The main thing is to take good care of the mother and not worry about sibling’s feelings. Don’t ask for help from the siblings. It is tough, but the bottom line is do what is best for mom.

Take care, be safe and have a good week.

Good evening all,

Listened to Indycar race. Foyt team did as expected. Newgarden won. Last year with new chassis and aero package there were lots of contenders and winners. This year Penske, Ganassi, Penske, Ganassi. Go figure. Brought down the KW to use on the standard gauge. That pesky reverse unit on the 8E suddenly got solved with 125 watts blasting thru it. I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening folks!

Had some good weather today. Went on a nice hike with my son and some friends.

Agree, everything after the iPhone 7 other than the camera is minor and not worth it, but Apple after experiencing the poor iphoneX sales have kept the prices of the 7’s and 8’s high to prevent a rush by the public to abandon the X. I have a 7 I inherited and it is no better than my 5s. Apple has abandoned software updates for the 5 and soon the 5s will follow. The phones still continue to work but any new security flaws or software issues will not be fixed.

MikeC - more power!!!

Hello there,

A whirlwind weekend.

Started Friday evening with frying fish, shrimp and clams for 701 people. A strong start to the season.

Saturday morning to Lancaster. Got there in time for a couple of outlets, late lunch at a combo KFC/Long John Silvers and Mass before seeing the OAK RIDGE BOYS. The youngest is early 70s and they did a great 2 hour show with no breaks.

boys

Late dinner at Red Robin afterwards and a glass of wine before crashing. After a Cracker Barrel breakfast a trip to the Strasburg Train Store where I got a 60’s Norge Gas Refridgerator box car by Varney and 14 issues of HO Model Trains circa 52 and 53. I enjoy reading those old Magazines

Norge

Then a couple more outlets before heading west on I283. Late luch at a Deli in Thompson Town Pa, home just before the later sunset. A homemade pitza before crashing hard ag

Mornin’ boys. Sunny & 45 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Reached 66 yesterday! Maybe take a ride today.

Went to the Altoona show yesterday (as I didn’t have tix to Oak Ridge Boys), and tooh along our engineer and brakeman. Good event, and I picked up 2 more Marx 74 Signals (one NIB), 2 “shorty” Industrial Rail hoppers, a baggie full of wood ties for my AF track, and a custom painted AF flatcar, done in PRR with wood pole loads. Only spent $66.

Been really busy in the train room, finishing the C&O Canal area, and scratch building the C&P coal warf (one plank at-a-time). I had to pre-emptively install one of the Marx semaphores, and it looks and works great.

Morning. Sunny and 68. 70’s yesterday. Nothing on agenda for a change.

Fifey, sounds like a good day you had.

Hope all have a good one.

Good Morning from beautiful 60°F Southern Ohio,

Good evening all,

Quiet but good day at work. Wife finally felt good enough to cut hair tonight. Needed it badly. For those keeping track at home, Lucas’ divorce was final late last week. Sad end to a long story that should not have gone that way. Maybe some day he will find some happiness. Took his sister a long time to do.

On a totally unrelated note, is there any way to register for individual events at a TCA convention? The website seems to indicate signing up for only the convention itself. Thanks in advance for any help.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening folks!

A gray and drizzly day, but ok. Son and I are enjoying the spring break trip. Picked up steaks and grilled them tonight. Enjoyed a nice Cabernet with the steaks.

Banks - nice trip and nice find!

MikeC - not sure if I understand your question. From my experience, you have to register for the convention in order to register for individual ‘events’ at the convention - which I think you are referring to are actually the tours. The forms I have for 2019 conventions allow you to register for the events and the tours on the same form, and the TCA/LCCA conventions I attended in the past allowed me to register for the conventions and tours on-line. Separately, prayers that Lucas finds a path through all this.

Fife - [tup] on layout progress!

Mornin’ boys. Will be spending my day at the RR office, not in the train room. Spent yesterday with Ms. Kelly. Made a visit to my folks’ place, then on to Tractor Supply, for red mulch. There, Ms. Kelly fell in love with a weaping willow sappling, which came home with us, as well as a rose bush. Spread the mulch, and planted the new greenery. Hopefully the yearlings leave the tree alone.

Did do a little model railroading yesterday. Since I’m modeling Spring on my layout, I have to “exercise” Christmas from some of my ceramic buildings. With a fine brush and PLUM colored craft-smart acrylic paint, I covered all the red ribbons on my churches with purple (right phish?). I also turned all the ornaments on the ceramic evergreens, to pinecones, using med brown paint. Voila!

phish - If you’re going to make some AF ties, I’d love to purchase a handfull from ya.

Hello there

Ubered Mrs to work, helped son load a beef for butcher then Mass. Got some house stuff to do then working on the bathroom.

Forgot to mention yesterday while we were in Lancaster Saturday grandaughter placed 1st in solo, 2nd in the trio and 3rd in solo strut at a twirling competition. There is talk of them entering the state competion later this spring.

Twirl

Fife…south facing bulbs are popping up everywhere, north are still under snow.

Best get on with the day

Prayers for those in need

Good evening,

Got into the 50s today so I serviced the Husqvarna mower and ordered new Oregon Gator blades for it.

They say it will hit 60 Thursday but then back down for the weekend. :frowning: Maybe the snow will all be gone by then?

WOW I checked out a new Hyd suction filter for the JD 3203 and they want $84.00+ WOW. Must be that green and yellow box?? [(-D] I need to change that and the antifreeze now that it has over 650 hours on it and go to synthetic oil on this change. Maybe next month?

Not much else.

Banks, nice picture and I would be proud of her as well!!! [Y]

Good evening all,

Good day at work, better than expected. Weather for walk was nice. Did a little work on the HO layout tonight. Made more progress than expected. Got the May CTT today (early edition). Wife’s sister was here and we played card and board games tonight. All in all, it was a good day. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening all from beautiful Southern Ohio,

I finished powering up the inner AF track on the layout. So far so good. I need to do some lableing and tidying up some wires before adding accesories.

Fife - Purple is good for Lent. As far as the ties go it may be a bit before I need them but I’d be glad to make more for you too.

Good night and may God bless you and your families

Jim

Evening folks!

A good day today - party sunny and 60’s.

Banks - great pic! Congrats!

Been busy…

Had buys day and night. Out early to Edgecombe.

Roy, you may be in for some bad weather. Turning to bad blizzard in plains.
