May 2020 Coffee Pot. (16 years and counting) Let's see, last night's fried chicken, reheated pizza, tomatoes, and Rolaids to get your day started.

Mornin’ boys. See what happens when you leave it to Fifey to kick off the month…?

[oX)]

Sunny & 46 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Heading to 70 today. Wifey wants to go for a ride in the countryside. We can surely handle that. Took youngest princess to FedEx to send back a college book. Still waiting for the OK to go fetch the rest of her belongings from dorm. In train room, vaccumed up all the loose ground foam and hot glue boogers from scenery project.

Thank you Don for the updates. [bow]

Some more stuff from boxes long stored 4 new Williams steel passenger cars Norfolk & Western, I don’t think I have a N&W engine 14" long, good looking dark maroon with black roofs, A Burlington GP-7 and another PW GP-7 painted Southern Pacific and a die cast frame NW-2 painted SP, I was big on that. And a 2020 turbin and a Jersey Central NW-2, and 4 MPC boxcars, I have a lot of boxcars and more I can’t think of.

I was looking for leftover Pizza not chicken.

Morning folks! Thanks Fife!

Partly sunny and to hit 89 today. Ugh…too soon…it was very warm yesterday. Pundits claim we will return to low 80’s next week.

Did not accomplish much yesterday, tired from lack of sleep due to allegy issues with very high pollen levels - cedar, elm, etc…was able to sleep in a bit today so feel better, not great, but better! OTC allergy pills help some with itching eyes, but not so great with the drainage.

Dennis - some nice trains you are unearthing! Keep em moving! Kinda interesting your comments about losing some interest in the slot cars. I continually move back and forth with hobby interests, my big goal being to put minimal $$ towards any of them any more (yeah right eh!).

DonB - come on, go,ahead and reveal the very wealthy client in Sandy Eggo is none other than Dougsnotta [8D]

LOL I guess we all forgot that yesterday was a new month. Sunny and 72. It feels warm but we have a pretty strong breeze with it.

fife U need to add the 16 years so it doesn’t get lost.

S.J.

Roy, You keep talking like that and the DEA is liable to come by to see if you be smokin’ something. [:O]

Mornin’ boys. Overcast and 65 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Need to check in on my folks, and maybe drop a line in the pond while I’m there.

Yesterday took a drive down to Seneca Rocks (she loves the area around Petersburg,WV). It was pretty, and lots of motorcycles had taken to the road. Park was closed, but didn’t stop folks. There were even people rock climbing up the sheer face of the mountain. Wifey and I also checked out the old depot area in Romney, and Indian Mound Cemetary, on the west edge of town.

Fife… I have been in that area several times. I have been fishing between Petersburg and Franklin.

Haha Doug! Just like there, the DEA are VERY BUSY here with lotsa other folks…I would be waaaaaaaaay down the list!

Sunny here and 90’s today! Ow! Same tomorrow…back to norms middle of next week!

Working (remotely) on the Lionel TMCC1/TMCC2 protocols so we can operate switches, power blocks, and uncoupling tracks from the CTI Electronics display/CTC panel with a mouse and left/right clicks. So far success with operating switches! Unfortunately Lionel mashed up the TMCC1/TMCC2 protocols for BPC2’s and did not update the 2015 version of the protocol document - argh! So having to run lots of experiments to see if we can back our way into it. Using the protocol capture capability of the Lionel LCS software and another program called eTrain (from a guy on the OGR forum). Pretty cool stuff!

More stuff I had stored. A Lionel 646 Hudson possibly the nicest postwar I have. 646, 2046, 2056 I have always felt these Hudsons were the best buy, you could get one for around 100 when I was buying.

3 new orange Milwaukee steel pasenger car 9500

Marx f3 type santa Fe AA I had put Lionel compatable couplers on them

A Lionel motorerzed I think construction car, and two marx steam a 999 and a tin one, I put them back in storage as I didn’t think I would ever run them

I’ve got a Lionel 2056, picked it up at a train show several years ago and it was one of the best buys I’ve ever made.

Only made for one year in the 50’s (1952), I call it “The Bruiser.” The thing will pull anything tied to it’s tail. A very underrated locomotive.

Here’s the story:

Thanks Fifey. Good start. Please add 16 years to your header so we don’t lose count.

Beautiful day again. Chruch on TV just ended.

Hope all OK.

Hello there,

still social distancing. Some counties in PA had the stay at home order modified, retail stores can open, construction can resume, people are encouraged to still work from home. We are still under stay at home but many are ignoring it. I’m seeing gatherings that shouldn’t be happening. There is much dissenting over the counties allowed to open up. Counties with high cases and deaths are open while those with lower counts are not.

Good news at the lung doc Friday. The fatty mass is not unusual for people carrying a little extra weight. We were also told that Mrs probably had Covid virus back in February when she was so sick. It could take 6 months to completely recover. It’s to late to test for it and the antibody test at this point is turning out to be inaccurate. I didn’t feel the best for a couple of days but not like Mrs.

Rain again overnight, 70s with showers possible this PM. Sunny but cool Monday and Tuesday, more showers Wednesday. Prognosticators said average April temperature was lower than March.

A stack of steel showed up in the yard Friday afternoon. I’m told 3 days to complete the installation, they’ll do it in sections in case of rain. I can get the garbage cans out of the attic.

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need and this pandemic to end

There. Fixed it.

Evening Fellas

Been rather busy doing home projects. The patio is done, the closet organizers (MB, Christina, Pantry) are done, also had the back yard regraded and the field grass removed. Now waiting for new grass to grow, been 1 week so far. Today TheQ, Christina, and I removed 2 - 3 inches of dirt from between the house and the patio, laid landscape felt, and covered with 2 - 3 inches of crushed marble. Looks awesome against the dark gray border pavers. TheQ and I also started working on the new steps out of the Great Room to the patio. We cut 4 stringers and cut 2 4x4 posts into 4 posts. She was very concerned that I was using the infamous circular saw! [(-D] But we had no incidents. Tomorrow I have to return 2 2 2x10x10 to HD and get 2 2x6x8 to make the header and filler blocks. Next up will be ordering the Trex for the steps and Trex fascia to finish around the screened porch. We also need to head out to a nursery to find some perennials and some crape mertles… lots of fun spending time with TheQ.

Good evening all,

Finally got wife out of the house. Went over to a small falls site and then to Captain D’s for a takeout supper. Been cloudy all day. Was nice Saturday. Got the tire swing and tire sandbox painted. Alley has new gravel. Watched the virtual Indy race at IMS on Saturday. Foyt team finally got a top ten in a wild finish. Watched Mass on TV today. Indiana is supposed to start opening up next week. We shall see. Goal is to be completely open by July 4th. Do not really care until Indy 500 gets around. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening All,

I should have waited with my post the other night, I forgot that it was the 30th.

FIFE, who in the world would eat 16 year old chicken??? I doubt the Coke is very good either. Doesn’t sound very appealling to me.

I had a busy day, spent most of it touching up around the house with paint, then about 3-4 hours sorting out drill bits. Ugh! Especially when you got Numbered, Fractional, Metric, Alpha, definitely helps to have a good drill index.

Need to go and get some decorative white rock tomorrow and fill in the flower beds out front. Tried at HD and Lowes they don’t have much, and what they do have is small chips and pebbles.

We are going to be getting warm again this next week.

Its uncanny with all the demonstrations going on, and the daily death count still very high. I sure hope common sense prevails.

Banks, I must of missed it, what is all the steel for? Incase you didn’t see my post thanks for the links, I enjoyed watching them.

Lion88, Glad to see everything went well with the saw!

Take care all and be safe!

A new roof on the house. One rainy morning last fall I found water pouring out of a bedroom light fixture. The roof is metal and was old when Dad bought the place in 56.

Glad you liked the Virtual York

Best get moving

That does sound like a lot of fun! Just wish I had an operating layout to work on! [:(]. Lots of other projects on the list before I get to the trainroom… all in good time.
