Ive been looking for a while and cant find what im looking for so hoefully osmeone can help.
Im looking for a Norfolk Southern Switcher or some sort and in dcc or have the capability of it any help or suggestions would be great.
Ive already checked the main sell sites like discout online and internet trains but with no sucess.
Thanks for the help.
Nick
I went up and down the NS last weekend. Pretty much all the switchers were Conrail.
Mostly Geeps.
I have seen some NS switchers in the Macedonia yard her in ohio but at 65 mph on a highway its too hard to identify them. I would just pick a newer Conrail switcher and repaint it and decal it to your liking.
here is a link to a picture I found of a NS Switcher.

yeah im still having trouble finding what i need
Norfolks Southern until Conrail has used mostly ex-Southern Rwy SW1500’s and MP15DC’s. Getting Conrail just added more SW1500’s but also the SW1001. Athearn does or did make an SW1500 painted for NS. Atlas has released an MP15DC but they don’t have it in NS yet only Southern. No one makes a SW1001 except maybe the brass manufacturers. Other thatn that probably everything else they use would be ex-CR GP15-1’s and GP38’s
Nick what is it exactly your looking for what type of switcher?
something small and powerfull and have NS on it not real sure on switchers im still trying to learn the big guys. if it was a plain black one that i couls add decals too that would be greta but i cant find any NS decals
Thanks
Nick

Yeah were that good! no I cant take credit I did a yahoo search for Norfolk Southern Decals and thats like the 3rd thing on the list. Google would probly be just as good if not better. Glad I could help. I too am a NS fan. I love there commercials. (there availible on there web site.)
i did a search on google and cme up with nothing i must be doing something wrong
The railroad gods have smiled upon me and my pc then. I tried Google search for norfolk southern decals and the 7th item down was for shell decals must have lucky finger today. If it were me I would get my hads on a SW1500 and paint that bad boy black and get that decal sheet and have at it. you can also look up the roster for NS and see what they currently have in there stable for switching duty.
If I can be of any further help let me know always glad to help if I can.

Hope these help.
I’m wondering about what you are trying to accomplish. Are you looking for an NS switcher that fits your conception of color coordination or are you going for protoype? A couple months ago I drove past the Conway yard, one of the larger regional NS yards. There were were so many switchers there that I would guess the number to be between 50-100. They were all Conrail blue. This last weekend I traveled roughly from Pittsburgh to Trenton, and the two biggest yards, Altoona and Harrisburg, were switched by Conrail.
So I ask again. Are you guessing that there should be NS switchers in your yard, or are they what is really there for the location of your prototype?
Space. I think he wants a NS decorated loco but your right NS ownes those Cornrail units there just not painted NS black. I like prototype running but when the RR is not running what I need the old Modelers License get whipped out and I do what I want.
