You really captured the flavor of this station in its heyday. I have traveled thru this station many times from the mid-fifties to the present. It still is an impressive station although now reduced to six tracks and sharing space with Grehound. Sadly, only three trains now serve New Orleans.
I just want to walk right into the scene, purchase a ticket, and walk the platforms until my train is ready to leave.
Wow! If the people and cars were moving I would have thought it was real! Your layout must “host” a lot of railroads. Cute music, too!

Amazing! As a teen I used to fan the station, and hes got it nailed perfect! I can remember as a young child traveling through the station riding on the KCS with my mom, and on the Southern Crescent to go to visit family in the northeast. What memories. The most thrilling thing that ever happened was once when One of the crew there waved me up on board a IC E8 right before Amtrack, and let me ride with him all the way back into the engine house. That was so cool. Id spend hours out there watching and photographing the operations. Sadly all of my photos and negatives were lost in katrina. But thanks to cliff, we can still relive those fond memories a bit… Good going Brilliant!
There are good jobs and then WOW!!! Freight trains are ok, but passenger trains are where it is at. Only wish I had a gift like yours!

I lived in New Orleans in the early 70’s. Awesomely accurate. The night scenes actually feel right… feel like you’re there.
