A heater hose sprung a leak on my 88 Honda CRX Si and going down the freeway I didn’t notice the tempature gauge until it was pegged hot.
It was kind of a rural area but there were a couple of stores there and I pulled into their parking lot.
There was a hose bib on the store and I found a paper drink cup and begain many trips to fill the radiator. It started to miss a little just before I turned it off.
After it was cooled down it woulden’t start. My insurance has free roadside towing and after awhile the store person let me use their phone to call the tow ser
Dennis I hope it’s not more than that also as over heated engines can be trouble.
Morning all up can’t sleep well couldn’t getting tired now so will be heading soon. Hope all had a good weekend. Had a fair one myself nothing to complain about. Talk to you all later
Aloha. Looks like a nice day. Spent the weekend with my brothers and their families exploring some sights in southern Wisconsin. Highlight for me was seeing a WSR train crawl down some rural tracks led by a GP unit colored for the BN. Tried to go sailing yesterday but it was too blustery for me. Not sure how I would do in the dinghy in a strong steady breeze of 15 knts right into the marina and puffs f up to 25 knts. My condolences to you and your missus, Banks. SJ and Charlie, what a great video, as always!
V8 Dennis, I hope your Honda will be OK. It’s tough when you’ve already put a lot into it. My old 87 Buick has reached the point of no return on spending more money but it still runs good.
Tomorrow is my birthday but my oldest son wants to take me out to lunch today since he has the holiday off.
RT, I know, My point is, I just have not seen anything like that SINCE THE 80s. Last time it was in a contract for Cat was in the late 70s. Most places gave it up back then so anyone who get them today should thank the higher one for it. I am on SS and not happy either but don’t figure it is coming. As for the pop bottle remark in that other post,do the math, just another personal attack that “they” let him get away with. BTW, go to another forum to see the video???
JMHO.
Leaves are all over the place again. Will have to start the sweep and burn process over again in the morning. Have a good night!
Sorry kevin I thought the pop bottle as you call it kinda funny you did kinda ask for that and probably if I or a few other in here would of done it you probably wouldn’t of minded it and saw the hummor behind it he was not trying to be a smart @$$ towards you it was more the comment kinda asked for it
YORK…I’m not going to make it. I will be back at the doctor’s office on the 22nd for stint removal. Maybe I can make it in the spring. [sigh] [sigh] [sigh] [sigh]
The video is on a well known O ga forum. Any one can go there and see it.
It is also on the club webpage that is also open to all. For some reason this forum seems to frown on club posting, even though we sell nothing. Also they do not allow the mention of other forums by name so I have no other way to tell the guys when the video has been posted.
Had a good time at the show on Sunday. I ran in to one of the dealers I know later. He said attendance was way off. I’m not sure why because they even advertised on TV. One thing I wonder about is the show runs from 9 to 2. Thats good for dealers and people into trains but it ends to early for those who go to church eat lunch and look for something to do. I bought an old Tyco set for less than I’ve seen the engine (what I really wanted) go for. The boxes are toast but the cars are pretty good.
The viewing went as expected yesterday. Today will be the hard part…Thans for your support.
Spotted this in Hollidaysburg yesterday…
It seems the Everett Railroaid bought it to run excursions. They have been running Fall Foilage and Christmas trains for several years. It is a local shortline running on an abandoned PRR/Conral branch that servers Appleton Papers and a couple local feed mills. There was an article in MRR about them a few years ago.
Aloha. Sunny and colder. Class tonight so it’ll be a late trip home on the train. Happy birthday Ray! The Pepsi bottle made me laugh! Banks, everything is better with steam. That looks like a nice ride. The Illinois Railway Museum is just running their North Shore train this time of year.
