I am amazed how David has become a great carpenter, good video.
So much of that measuring and carpentry could be avoided by using Woodland Scenics foam risers and inclines with foam insulation board. Foam is simpler and faster. Because foam bench work is largely a process of adding materials there are fewer scraps and even those scraps can be recycled as scenery materials.
Fine work, David. I appreciate your detailed explanation with each step. Project looking very good!
David,
I love the videos and how the magazine shows how to build a layout, but would it be possible to show how you design them? From the initial idea, to what you want to incorporate, through how you incorporate those ideas?
It’s great to see Model Railroader finally build an exhibition style layout. These are very popular in Europe, but they also make plenty of sense for those of us with limited space. Bravo gentlemen, looking forward to watching this project progress.
David,
Is there any other type of material one can use for a subboardbed other than plywood? Great video and you explain your work really well
Outstanding “How-To” series. I enjoy the detail and descriptions. David, what type/size blade are you using in your scroll saw?
Dave,
What type of 1/2 plywood are you using for subroad bed,???
Thanks
