Pic of new NS SD70M-2

Saw this link posted with a pic of a pair of fresh NS SD70M-2’s. NS will be receiving 52 of these starting very shortly. It definitely will be noticed once it hits the property with that new nose, and 90MAC radiator design. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=121329

Purty!!!

Ya someday the BNSF will own them right after the Merger.

But not as good as its cousin the ACe

Wow, that is a sharp lookin loco. That NS paint job really works on tose units. I give them two thumbs up !![tup][tup]

she is a beauty. Can’t wait to see one on the Mainline near my grandparents house. The paint really does work on those. Hope Lionel Trains comes out with a model of it in O Gauge, and hopefully Aristo Craft will come out with it for G Scale.

One word… WOW!

[#ditto]

NICE!!!

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

I hope that Norfolk Southern will have a lot of success with the SD70M-2. The SD70M-2 definetely looks good with the Horsehead Logo on it. I hope that NS will send one of these units through here soon for me to see.

The SD70M-2 and SD70ACe are essentially the same in external appearance…the differences lie under the skin, as far as the AC vs DC traction…

Now, THAT’S a thoroughbread![:D][tup][tup]

Iv’e ran a few of those engines on the Kenova District here. They are few and far between. This time of year we get the older "cold weather " engines, cause it’s cold whether the heat works or not[:D].But seriously the SD70m-2 is a fine loco, and pulls great.Iv’e always preferred EMD’s over GE’s.And I don’t know of any NS started rumors about mergering with the BNSF.Maybe some folks who are in the “really don’t know crowd”[X-)] at work Iv’e heard that from, but no official will admitt to that rumor.I personaly fill the NS will possibly merge with the UP before the BNSF.Then as soon as that happens the CSX will merge with the BNSF,for survival[B)].Only time and the goverment will tell.[?]

Yeah, there should be a few out there already…The caption on the pic itself mentions that the 2660 and the mate its coupled to, are the first for NS…however. the numbering started with 2649 on the 70M-2’s, I read another report somewhere around a month ago that another set had been sent to Paducah for testing.
