RE:Coffee Pot #5 May 2012 6 years [April 1 is Anniv.] and going strong and its for all to chat. Plenty of coffee and sweet ice tea for all. Come and join us and chat. GRITS for the Yankees.

Good evening. Jack, that is a noble endeavor you are on. You may want to keep that list of folks that purchase the photos for any future projects.

Chief, have a great weekend.

I had a case earlier, then had to come home to babysit our kids and two others while their mom and my wife are heading out for girls night. Her husband is in the Army and is expected home later in the weekend. We may watch the kids again to let them have a date night.

Got the latest CTT in the mail today, so long as the kids play nice, I will get some good train reading in.

Ray, glad things worked out. Best sleep I ever had was after a procedure, the meds did me well!

Hope each of you has a great weekend and please remember the special reason for the holiday.

God bless,

Dennis

Devils 2 Rangers 0 After one period. At this point, looks like NJ might just do it.

Interstate 4 was shut down part of today because of smoke from a brush fire. What a traffic jam!

Hope you all have a safe holiday.

Hey Banks! Have a great weekend! Same for all you guys [tup]

BOC Angel

Thanks for the prayers guys, we are doing pretty well. Char sees the ENT next Tuesday.

RIJACK - “You da man!” Good on ya, mate (Aussie accent).

Doug M - I’m gonna pick out a couple illustrations I think you could use and see about scanning them. Congrats to B on the new car [:)]

Picked up some fasttrack straights, a new lockon section, and some bumpers tonight at the LHS. They didn’t have the switches I wanted, and they were a little pricey too. I’ll check around for what I want and better prices for those. I’m making a “portable” carpet central so I can run my machines a lot more often!

TARDIS is warmed up on the pad. RT already beamed up, but plenty of room for more.

It’s 77 now, went to 91 today. We had BLTs for supper and lemon ice cream for desert. I guess you could say I just tweeked things today, did nothing special. Banilla is waiting and I’m running a little late…S.J.

Evening all!

End of a very long week. Glad it is over.

Hot. Hit 95 again today. 93 for the weekend. Winds here were hitting 40 mph yesterday and high 20’s today.

Not much planned for the weekend. Continue some heavy yard work. On that front - got a ridiculous quote to dig out the soil I have piled up and reshape/gradeabout 4-6 inches of soil out of the side yard, reset the sprinklers, and resod it. Have to think about it.

[angel] for those in need.

Have a great evening all!

Time for me to call it a night. I got the Athearn/Proto GP35 converted to DCC. The U25C will go back on the display shelf as DC as the other decoder was dead. Didn’t get much of a chance to clean up the layout. Maybe tomorrow. Had chimichangas and chili earlier today. Topped that off with two big slices of watermelon this evening. See y’all tomorrow.

Good Evening All!

Glad to heard most are off to a good start for this 3 day weekend.

HudsonJohn - Saturday I’m working, Sunday night we are having a dinner party for Danielle who graduated from OCC yesterday. She has yet to pick out what restuarant to have it though. Monday I’m working but we are having the kids over for some grilling and Raymond’s going to deep fry two chickens, one cajun spiced the other old bay. mmmmmmmmmmm. What’s your plans?

Ray

DEVILS 3 RANGERS 2

OFF TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS!!!

Mornin’ boys.

jefelectric - Just read the PRR museum will be having a NS day Saturday, June 2. Will any “celebrities” be there…?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…

It is a sunny 74 degrees. Going up to 90 today with sunshine. It’s gonna be hot.

Today is an easy day. Wife is driving up to Smithville, to spend the day with her niece. I have a few chores to do and then, I will take it easy. I may do some reading and spend some time ouside before it gets hot. Nap later.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Saturday.

Chuck

Good morning. It’s 70° and partly cloudy. The high will be 95° and it’ll be sunny.

So far I have the layout partially cleaned up and I’ve found a couple of items that had gone missing. I’m program the Athearn/Proto GP35 this morning. It’s going to be permanently mu’d with a Front Range/Athearn/Proto/Proto Power West/Walthers GP9. Neither one by itself is heavy enough to pull more than nine or ten cars but both together can pull twenty or more. No other plans for today.

Good Morning

Already 70F going to a high of 77F and sticky…

Got a bunch of runnin’ ‘roun’ to do so I better be off and doin’ this!!

CYLTR!!!

It’s 68 and looks like rain is coming. We do need it. Northern Michigan needs rain as well, they have some forest fires in several locations. Not much going on yet today and no holiday plans unless the kids call…S.J.

We could use some rain too SJ.

Got to go to Plainfield today for a wedding and to pick up the updated wills.

Other than that just going to try to stay cool.

Have a good one,

Good late morning to everyone. It is supposed to be a tad on the warm side today. THey are calling for 97, but who knows. We will be going over to a friend’s house for a little swimming with the kids. I also need to stop off and get some paint for the new kids’ room. Still not set on color, but best get something up there.

Rich, I noticed that most of my Ranger friends are silent today on FB. Wonder why [;)] Glad the Devils pulled it out, but so many friends are Ranger fans, I try to stay out of the fight.

Laz, hope you enjoy these last few days. Take it for all it is worth. Have you decided what you will do with all the spare time?

Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Dennis

Cold 68 yesterday and 72 today, 82 tomorow.

Rock Isl I don’t know what a SRX is but a Acura RSX is very possibly in my future. It has a very advanced high RPM engine and is sort of a modern musclecar although my old V8 crowd would bristle at that statement. I put a $400 dent in my Prelude backing out of my driveway and around one of my own cars. Stupid and careless, I am real careful now. Nice of you to put on this money raising event.

SP Ray it sure is discouraging to compose and type something and then lose it. The other day I typed what I thought would include a early dragster picture that Blownout posted but my post was no good without the picture so I deleted it. 1st time I have done that.

Just heard a story on TV I think it was in Boulder Colarado where a very drunk 21 year old girl staggered into some rich peoples home at night and they shot her. They have something called “make my day law” there and face no proscusion. She survived the gunshot and may be charged with unlawful entry with jail time.

Changed out the shell on the third chassis of the F unit trio. It’s now sporting a Varney F3B shell, so that makes the second and third unit with Varney shells. They’re a bit easier to pick out as they’re not only a bit rougher looking but they’re also slightly longer than the Athearn or Stewart shell. The Stewart F3B is about forty-nine scale feet from the front of the roof to the rear of the roof and the Varney’s are about fifty-one scale feet.

Howdy all!

Ran the trains a little earlier with the kids. Getting ready to take them down to the pool. Gonna be a hot one today.

V8 Dennis, I think Colorado has the most liberal gun laws in the country. Reminds me of that other law they have in Florida about standing your ground etc. While these laws are good for the citizen who is trying to protect himself from a real threat, they also have the downside of tragedies like the one you mentioned. I think that name “Make my day” is a rather flip description of a very serious thing. Dumb!

Although my procedure went well at the hospital on Thursday, they did find some issues which I am dealing with now. It all comes under the umbrella of Irritable Bowel Disease. There is no cure so all they can do is treat the symptoms and the goal is to keep you in remission as much as possible. The doctor put me on some medication in addition to what I was already taking. All I can do is what the doctor says and hope for the best.

My #2 son was out yesterday taking some pictures in Arcadia, California of demolition work just started on the former Santa Fe 2nd district that runs from San Bernardino to L.A. Where they are taking up track. It’s where the new Gold Line light rail line will run. My son has tried to document all the changes that have occured on this line over the last decade or so. He may do a book on it someday. They also have to remove some single track bridges and build new ones for double track. The new bridge over the 210 Freeway is already well under way with construction due to be completed this summer. They are going to build about 8 1/2 miles of double track with catenary for the new light rail cars ending this phase in Azusa, California. Eventually this line will go all the way to the Ontario International Airport. However, Azusa would be close enough for me to catch it.

later,

Ray
