Recently I Saw . . . . . . .

Zach saw it too, but I think that today he is busy editing his photos and trying to get them on a website. I think we might get to see some of his “movies” too. [;)] [:D]

FXE 3224 [:0] [:p]

an Amtrak Acela train

Cartier Alco [:0] in North Little Rock [;)]

Today I saw a CSX dumpster train with CSX 4766 and CSX 7725 as the power. I also saw many NJT trains.

two CSX SD50’s on a mixed freight.

Also, two Lake Erie, Franklin, and Clarion boxcars on the same freight

The Missouri Pacific Heritage unit 1982 (again, [;)] this is twice in the last 6 days) [:D]

and a very mixed up SP / DRGW unit numbered 5368 (the 5368 looked like a spray painted job too)

Saw the following today in Pittsburgh

– A Helm/former SP tunnel motor on the point of a freight.
– A CN unit in some type of gray paint scheme
– A former Wisconsin Central

All were on CSX and all were heading westbound but different trains

…Still seeing {every few days}, long cuts of covered hopper cars on passing {side track}, in west Muncie…located on NS Frankfort line. They arrive and remain for a day or two and then they are picked up by another train and moved out…Don’t even know which way they leave…Have never heard a rational reason for why this is a routine occurance.

NYC GP40-2 #4428 at a grade crossing

CSX SD50’s #8542 and 8616 on a mixed freight

CSX SD60I #8732 and NYC SD40-2 #8812 on a mixed freight

A BNSF GP9B as the rear unit on a westbound bare table train.

That CN unit may have been either WC or GTW, they both have sublettered units with the “noodle”.

Oh yeah, I forgot what I was originally gonna post!!! [B)]

I saw a Sounder commuter car right behind the locomotives on Amtrak #7 today at 15:15 heading north (RR west) through Somers, WI.

The Cartier Alco # 34 is still hanging around. Rumor has it that it is headed for the Arkansas Railroad Museum. That would be a good home for it. [:p]

I also saw UP 6330 a patched SP unit.

Pardon me for not keeping up with things on the east coast. [B)]

So they have the problems worked out now with the Acela?

That is good if so. I am sure the riders appreciate having them back. [;)]

The “Katrina” Crescent. 3 P42s, baggage, dorm, sleeper, sleeper, diner, lounge, baggage, dorm, sleeper, sleeper, diner, lounge, 4 coaches.

All put together waiting to go north from Atlanta tonite!

(now, where are the other 4 coaches and the P42, I have no idea!)

the ones that have been repaired are back in service, but I don’t think they’re back up to 100% as of yet

Thanks Mikey [:D]

I saw something unique tonight. Well maybe not to ED, but I saw UPY2300, a GG20GE.

I think Ed would say this is basically a copy of the MK2000s. [;)]

This one is suspose to be a Hybird and use less fuel.

Here is some info about it.

I have been seeing a lot of older power painted in gray and stenciled WC. Someone said those were wrent a wrecks leased to CN and labeled for WC. After seeing some of them I think CN would have been better off sticking with the original WC power. WC power looked like it was much better taken care of than the gray units.
