S&C Update - More new cars shipped

Went by the yard in Somerset and saw 2 long strings of brand new rotary dump cars from Freightcar America. Nothing else was in the yard - which is unusual since the Agway plant normally has at least 2 or 3 covered hoppers to be loaded and/or shipped.

Made a trip by the PBS line as well. Can’t really see any difference in the line (i.e. no new ballast at the “swampy” section). There was a new hi-rail truck sitting on the line by the Glessner covered bridge. Not sure what it’s being used for but it shows that work is still continuing to get the line re-opened.

…Wonder if there was any road tar material {tank cars} there sitting on the siding near where Rt. 31 crosses…Almost everytime I drive down past that area I see one or two of those there. Should soon see something happening on the PBS since someone commented about possible action later in the summer, etc…Any action around the area is good and glad to hear of it meaning it’s {S&C}, life continues.

I haven’t seen a tank car sitting in the siding near the Rt 31 crossing since late last summer. Seems kind of odd since there’s normally at least 1 there.

Took a run down to Rockwood this morning. Looks like the tie that blocked the siding where February’s derailment has been moved so I’m assuming it’s back in service. Espeically since the trackwork has been completed for some time now at the other end of the siding at Wilson Creek.

Not sure when the trains will be running to the PBS Cambria mine. If I hear of anything, I’ll be sure to let you know.
