Checked with the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, and we thought it would be a great idea to hold a parade to dedicate the new engine that the boys in the paint shop dubbed “Sir James”, in honor of one of our favorite Michiganders…

From my viewpoint at the crew shack, you can look down Baltimore Street as the parade heads east.

N&W 2008’s crew waves to all of the appreciative townsfolk who showed up for the dedication.

What a coincidence, Santa showed up for this parade too…

…and the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdale hitch…but the people are really jazzed about the GP20 perched up on the Viaduct.

Hey, wait, c’mon guys the para…oh,well; it’s the thought that counts.

Santa and his team are all loaded up, and being pulled out of town by fifey

Grits?

Fife, Great shots, great looking layout! I have to say, that NW in the first photo looks regal standing there. Thanks for sharing.

Dennis

That’s looks like quite a party!

I knew it…you used grits for snow. Careful, if Chief visits, he’ll try to eat the scenery.

Kurt

Wow an engine and a parade, what a special honor.

Thank you, S.J.

Phish - That Santa team and Nativity scene look pretty old school. I like them, what is their history?

(BTW- I see donkey, and a lamb…I guess flamingos were not at the first NOEL…[%-)])

Great stuff, guys! Love that Sir James Special, Fifedog and that layout just looks outstanding. Hmmm, have you been contacted by OVERLORD or anyone about a follow-up story? Jim, great little layout additions and love that tree setup. Looks like great fun was had by all!

Brutus - At YORK, Mr. Carp put the “cattle prod” to me. In my own timeline, I’m 2 months behind (not sure what that translates to 1:48 scale…). Thanks everyone.

Something tells me there will be grits all over the CTT country. [:-^]

The wooden Nativity is a music box, it and the Santa and reindeer are from my childhood and have been around as long as I can remember. They hold special memories of Christmas’ long ago and still make memories.
