Started bench work {steel mill related}

Hello all,

After many years waiting & money,my bench work has started. I’m using the time honored method of KISS for the bench work.Almost all the elevations will be the same,with the slag pit and quarry being sunk lower.

The skip hoist ramp for the dumping of ore,limestone and coke should be only a few inches high.The river shore closest to the blast furnace,will have sheet piling wall built into the frame work.Right now I’m working on the bench work ,but later plan on finishing up the BOF and setting it into place.

Next I have a ton of flex track to lay,duel main lines,served by Norfolk southern outside the mill.Inside the mill a small fleet of DRSC switchers running around.

I need to buy two boxes of cork roadbed before laying any track work.So I quess I’ll built the structures and figure out where to set them. I also have a plan on a few other structures in support of the steel mill.

I’ll post pictures of the mess…i mean pictures of the bench work later. Should have something to share before the weekends out.

Where are our pictures, Pat? I’d like to see how you’re laying out this complex.

He posted a few in a WPF a couple weeks ago; here’s a link to pg. 2, Patrick’s post is the fifth one from the top: http://www.trains.com/TRC/CS/forums/2/1245045/ShowPost.aspx#1245045

Thanks for the link, Ken. I’ve kinda stayed away from WPF with the flame wars goin on there. (I know they’ve been better as of late…)
