I learned to operate this, every Tuesday for 7am to 6 pm.
Me with my MOM.
Last nights OTTS meeting was held at John Penca layout. John’s layout was featured in CTT, Sept '09, page 58. Here are some pics of his great layout.
I had a difficult time falling asleep last night. I thought I heard the sound of a steam whistle just at the edge of town. Its unusual for a train to be headed north at that time of the night so I threw on some clothes and grabbed my trusty Brownie and headed for the station. Sure enough there sat the Northwoods Hiawatha, so I grabbed a couple of shots.
Seeing her sitting there reminded me that the summer resort season is coming to an end here in northern Wisconsin.
This is the last weekend before school starts, and by tomorrow night the resorts and cottages will be empty. Families will be heading back to the big cities of Milwaukee and Madison and Chicago. It seems as if they all wait until the last possible minute to go back and get things ready for the new school year. The station agent told me that the management of the Blue Board Central Division of American Flyer Lines always puts on this special at this time of the year. This train is headed north to Star Lake. Starting at noon it will pull out and pick up all the families bound for home. He says its pretty amazing to see the difference in the attitudes of the passengers. The kids are sad and depressed. The parents have a look of relief on their faces.

Great stuff guys!
Hey, JimSP - SJ and I just gotta know, what is that Rocket Thing???
This is what I purchased over the summer. The MTH docksider is like the real one I drove over the summer, and the National Bohemien Beer refeers were from VAGOLFER of OGR Forum, who had these specially made for anyone who wanted to order them. They are truely beautiful, made by Atlas.

Laz one word: Jealous
Jim - The rocket car is really neat and a recent additon. It comes with a flatca
The rocket car is motorized. The neat thing is the pilot can eject from the car when on the track. If you activate an uncoupler as the car goes over it, it trips a tigger holding the pilot in. It is really neat. You don’t see them very often.

Pennsy gondola and tank engine mistakenly backed into scrap yard.
Reports say that a tank engine and gondola carrying a spent fuse load was backed into the scrap yard for recycling. Locals identified the rare narrow gauge gondola as part of a Coffee Pot travelling exibit, and a crisis was averted.
