SUNDAY PHOTO FUN 6/7/09 [early]

All mainlines came to a hault while visiting maintenance way car works on the plexiglass on the Roseyville Div. of the NS.

Sturg and Tom, forgive me as started this one early because I am leaving for the lake house. Car arrived a little late [which is OK] but want to get it out as another one will be coming in the door.

Chief,

No sweat, it is Sunday somewhere!

It was such a nice week we painted the outhouse at the Flyer Farm

Oops, excuse me!

I received Fife’s car this week and look at what came out of it

Like to never got them loaded back in!

Have fun

Jim

Jim,

With those long legs and necks they might go quite nicely on a B-B-Q spit. [C=:-)]

A pair of Lionel Alaska RR diesels passing over S&Y RR right-of-way

Several years ago, at one of the train shows that I attend, a dealer showed up with some interesting relics from the early days of the hobby. He had bought a large number of hand made items from an o-gauge layout that had been stored in a barn. Most of what he had was wrapped in paper and pigeon dung - all of which was in original condition. [:O] The bulk of what remained when I saw it was hand made metal bridges with hand laid track and wooden ties. He must have had approximately 20 bridges when I encounterd his booth. The track itself looks like it is stock steel pieces. I bought two of the bridges mainly to use to display some of my collection on. I wish that I could have seen what the entire layout looked like.

I think it would have been great to have an elevated line with this style of substructure.

Phish - Thank you, Sir. They actually look cozy…did they flock to 9600 when it appeared…?

Been playing with Marx trains lately. Here’s a shot of my 666 passing the tower:

Have a great week!

Great pics everyone. [:)] The local railfans are checking out the new motive power for the B.L.T Lines, an Ives/Lionel 258.

It looks like the pool is more interesting then the train to these folks. The photographer was hanging from a tree limb to get this pic.

Great photos guys !

Spankybird, How in the world do you store and keep track of all your goodies ? [:D]

From fridays run at the museum I start with the motive power, B&O FT’s and quite appropriately a Southern FM which if memory is correct early models used the same diesel engine as submarines.

But a train is just a string of cars without a caboose to take care of loose ends.

Brakeman motions for the camera car to stop !

Fortunately the engineer responded and stoped in time !

Later all, time for a coffee refill !

Here’s a few more shots of some Marx 6" tin. The Marx 999 is staged on that siding, as it can’t go over newer switches. :frowning:

Have a great week,

J White

Hey guys, I had the opportunity to go to a TTOS club meet today. While I was there ran into another forum memeber, SPMAN, Ray. He actually had a table and told me he was selling some of his favorite pieces.

This is what he was selling… And you call me Shake & Bake ???

Man those photos almost want to make a grown man cry when you see them its a sure fact they got caught in a fire and a shame to such fine pieces they once were. And if ray needs some replacement pieces I don’t know if I would trust him with any after seeing what his best pieces look like[:-^]

LOVE that 258!!!

Ewww dem diesels got the scrappers torch this time! LOL!!![bow]

These trains were actually from a model rip track and car burner that got out of control.

Heading to the mines to pick-up a load of ore cars

I know it’s not Sunday but the weather was so nice this weekend I was outside most of the time. I finished up some black berry bushes and planted them, with about another week of sunshine they should be ready for picking.
