Good Morning all. Wow ! The moon is like a spotlight. Here it is Sunday and I still wakeup before 5 a.m… Glad the Club open 24/7. Coffee is ready and hera comes Zoe with the pot and a plate of bacon&eggs with hash browns. Glad Deb is still asleep so she cant see Zoe’s uniform.
Cat Tom and the rest of you, go to http://members.cox.net/cacole2 I know Tom will drool.WOW! Take the train trip. Definitly worth the time.
Today will be a bikers day. Sunshine, temp. mid 70’s and No rain. Hope where ya’ll live it is just as nice. Happy MRRing. Enjoy the day. Best to all,
Flip

Morning all and Zoe just a hot tea right now as I will be leaving shortly for breakfast with my riding friends.

[#welcome]William North(Bill)and don’t worry about interupting. Sorry to hear about your friend but it sounds like he might not have minded to pass that way[angel][angel]
Where abouts in the northern part of lower Mich are you,my mother and dad live just outside of Mancelona and I am North of Det. A couple friends and I are planning a bike trip in Aug up along Lk Huron and will be stopping in to see my folks when we get into that area.

FtwNS

One of my riding friends is a lawyer and I am sure he could answer the question but I think I would have lunch.
You must not be making any runs because you have been able to make some posts[:)][tup]

JP-Good to hear the move is done and plumbing isn’t any fun at all espically when the pipe is in the wall and behind cabinets, been there done that. Yeah Dremel’s are a great tool aren’t they.

Noah-The pics look real good and when you get it painted WOW!!

Flip

Sounds like the kind of person I would want on my side and be sure to give Deb our best[angel]

Well that’s about it,time to head to breakfast and then later to the hospital to see Lou and find out how he is doing.
Talk to you later

Duke

Good Morning, Zoe, and could I have a mocha and bacon and scrambled eggs, please?[dinner] Yum!

ftw, tough call on that - myself, I’d see what the lunch specials here were, but probably go with the lunch. [;)] Good to see you in a little more (for now, until your next run).

Flip, you’re sure right - CatTom, you need to see that one - several really nice trestles, plus bridges. And the running commentary is hilarious at several places along the tour![tup][tup] (As Ebert might say…)

Glad your weather will be that warm, Flip. I think we’re supposed to get to about 58 today, but it should be sunny. Few minutes ago it was only 34 (with the wind, made it feel like 27[:O]). I thought winter was supposed to be done with!?[%-)]

Bill, sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like he was a great guy, besides being a great MRRer. That Big Boy (and other engines) will have special meaning for you, I’m sure.

I need to get going and get ready for church, so I’ll leave things in Zoe’s capable hands (and I see BMRR coming in the door). Zoe, put BMRR’s order on my tab.

Blessings on your day,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Morning all… just thought I would drop in and say hello. I went by the local hobby shop yesterday, bought me a new KATO engine.{ could not resist that BNSF paint scheme }. Going to work on my garage some more today, trying to get it finished so I can start building my HO layout, still got a ways to go but I’ ll get there. Guess I’ d better get another cup of coffee.
Everyone have a great day !!!

Stan.

I knew I left something out…William North [#welcome] to the forum. I’am new also, come on in and have a cup of coffee with us.

Stan.

Chloe, I’ll have a large coffee, OJ and a Sunday brunch buffet…

Good morning clubbers,

It’s a beautiful, but chilly, cloudless morning here in MD. Perfect for lawn mowing — IF my tractor was back from the shop like that [censored] mechanic originally promised me, but it’s not — so for the time being, my house is not visible from the road.

That being said, I did accomplish a substantial amount of work on my future layout: got the buss wire connected to the pigtail leads for the ‘positive’ side of the primary block – i.e., all the red pigtails to the red buss wire. Now I need to do the same with the corresponding ‘negative’ (black) leads and buss wire for the block to be fully wired. All the remaining blocks are sidings where I can park my non-DCC locos, IOW they are much smaller and a lot less complex.

Flip –
Better behave yourself around Chloe, my friend! If Deb walks in I don’t think she’ll believe you when you tell her you were “just looking for that missing boxcar.” [:-,][(-D]
BTW, enjoyed that link to cacole’s club layout, I agree it’s a must-see for CatTom!

*** –
That’s a shame those gremlins had to infest your wife’s PC and keep you from getting to your layout. They must be really afraid of what might happen when you get it built, if they are working this hard to prevent it…

Duke –
I was going to suggest to Bill North that he contact you [a fellow Michiganer] but I see you were one step ahead!

JP –
Isn’t it amazing, all the things you can do with a Dremel outside of MRR applications? Mine has gotten me out a tight spot on more than one occasion; best of all, it really helps me avoid those bank-breaking dentist bills! [;)][swg][(-D]

Noah –
Enjoyed viewing the photos of that in-progress BB GP38-2, I really like seeing people put in the time and effort to hand-detail a great looking model loco. I guess this will be the first engine to

Morning all … Nothing for me thanx, gotta get home for a Sunday breakfast extravaganza (I’m cooking!) … “Our” Place is closed on Sundays over on Classic Trains … gotta have at least one day for myself![;)]

This photo is a “custom” job for “Our” Place … made it into a “period” shot of the early to mid-50’s to better “fit” with the “Classic Trains” topic. Check out the CP and CN diesels, and of course “vintage” vehicles. (Click to enlarge)

As always, the pages “fly” on this topic - my last post was on page 420. What’s that they say about “Time flies when one is having fun!”? So true …

I’ve enjoyed the pictures posted and discussions going on between “customers” about this 'n that. My contributions? Not much today … going to get some outside work done - grass is in dire need of mowing. Our rainfall has helped a bunch … however, these past two mornings have been cooooooold - this AM we were just a bit below freezing. Didn’t look bad enough to create permanent damage to the new growth, though. Hard to believe that we had a couple of days in the 80’s last week and now we’re way below that … Missouri weather, you gotta love it!

Oh yes - trolleyboy Hey Rob - that picture you tried to send me didn’t download - BUT - I saw it on Der John’s thread … GREAT shot! Also, twhite I sent an e-mail reply to you regarding your landscaping question …

See y’all now and then … enjoy your Sunday![tup][;)]

Tom in Chesterfield, MO, USA (Siberianmo)

Good day people. Rain for the next little while. Should do the wells good.
As it’s Sunday, nearly lunch time, I’ll have a small dry sherry please Zoë.

Ken:

Say it isn’t so! These are mrr forum dwellers we are discussing here - they golf too?[:O]

BridgeTom:

The uses I’ve seen have just been painted broken tile. However, if you are modeling a clay formation. I’d expect there to be some rounding of the edges due to water erosion, and therefore some need for Sculptamold et al. Your photos are going to give you the best indication.[2c]
On your non-negotiations front, the choir director of our church in B.C. had one favorite directive “Don’t breathe!”

***:

January mice, at least the ones in our basement go snap and then they are quiet, and are put out for the crows.[swg] Glad it wasn’t a more serious problem, and an doable fix.

UK Matt:

Thanks, I’ve often wondered how to make replacements or duplicates. [bow]

Bill North: [#wel

Ken-Deb can’t lift the cast iron skillet yet. And denting the aluminum ones makes them hard to heat evenly. Besides, even if I caught Zoe or Chloe, what would I do with them/her? lol.

Sibor- Love that “Mentor Tavern” . And the wires on the poles! WOW! Heck of a neat scene. Great!

Teffy and Trolleyboy-- Guess the snail mail is bogged down. Oh, well. The pictures will get to you when they do. Look on the backs as some have explanations.

Beautiful day here. Bright sunshiney day, breeze just right , temp.in mid 70’s. Bikers starting to go home. I know some came from Key West and thats about a 7 hour ride.
ttfn,
Flip

Thanks John- Its 11:54 and you got me drooling. Hearty appetite.

Good Morning all. Thought I would drop in and catch up a litte. Been doing some reading at work but limit the posting there. I’ve just been preoccupied with other activities the past couple days.

My thoughts are with those who are under the weather or grieving the loss of someone close recently.

[#welcome] Bill, I did some quick scanning of the past few pages but did notice your name there. [:)]

Noah and Tom (Siberianmo), nice pics, someday I hope to have some to post. Recently bought a digital camera, just need a layout now. [:D] I tried Railimages.com the other day. With dialup it took forever to load all the pics. I waited about 20 min then gave up. Broadband can’t get here soon enough.

Lunchtime, see you all later.

Hi, Flip, have a drink on me.

Good afternoon gents…the rain finally stopped here after receiving 2". No woodland fire danger now, and we have another 2 or 3"'s coming this Wednesday. But things sure are green, the trees are all leafing now.

JP: Plumbing is a lot of fun isn’t it? Especially drains and sewer lines[;)][;)] I love working with PVC instead of the old cast iron, and those rubber converter sections from cast iron to PVC are a life saver.

GA TOM: Stay out of the tree Tom!!! You are absolutely correct. I did a tree job back many moons ago when I was about 35. It frightened me then, it scares the h… out of me now. That is the job for a bucket lift truck. Can you believe the cold so late into April in Georgia? That upper level LOW over the Great Lakes is causing some unseasonable weather. Some areas around the Lakes received 6" of snow yesterday!!!

CAPE JIM: I hadn’t realized that Ed made another trip to Texas so soon after the last one. I guess he wanted to visit the LHS again[;)][;)] Can’t blame you Ed, nice move buddy !!!

DER JOHN: Yes, we had to invest in a few Snappers last year for the 1st time ever here. It seems that when my son & family moved up here while his new home was being built, Topo Gegio & his family moved up here too in a couch. It took several weeks and a jar of peanut butter to take care of that problem.

Time for dinner at Outback Steakhouse…see you guys later,

First I want to say thanks to everyone for the compliments. I’m glad you all liked it, and I’ll have to keep you up dated in the future.

Ken, Yep, it will be. It’s actually the reason that I’m getting an air brush, as the Wisconsin and Southern’s grey stripe is such a light grey that know one I know of makes the correct color grey. I’m going to have to custom mix it to get it to come out right.

Der, Peter Thorne’s MR Electronics book? Is a Kalmbach Publishing book? Sounds like one I’ll have to try and find it, I need to figure out how to easily light my crossings, and in expensive is good too, I already have a lot of my income ear marked this year.

Well, I better get going, I got a lot I want to do on a Sunday afternoon with school tomorrow and all. I’ll see you all later.

Noah

Hi all

Well, we had this weird light in the sky today, according to textbooks it’s called the sun. I was able to do some running-in with my new LGB shunting tractor - not that it needed it, they’re amazingly smooth.

***, thanks for the brew, hope the fan trick is handy!

Jim, if only the wheelsets were multiplying - the problem I have is that I buy a few sets, then buy new stock, so the number of cars needing them never drops. Right now I still have 10 cars awaiting rewheeling, though it’s worth the effort - the metal wheels stay a lot cleaner than the plastic ones and the sound is much better.

John, I’m not sure how effective the CA glue technique is - was testing it out due to having a seriously scruffed boxcar around that really couldn’t get any worse. It’s fairly effective though, I managed to almost rebuild one end (which had a corner knocked off) though the other is taking a while longer as there was nothing left.

Well, had a nasty surprise yesterday when mum came in saying “there’s something horrible in the storeroom” - a little investigation found a large, recently dead, rat. Initially its presence was a mystery (usually we only have the occasional mouse) though we eventually discovered a couple of missing bricks and a pile of soil in a corner - it had presumably tunneled in from next door’s garden. We filled the hole with concrete and will inform the neighbours that they may have unwanted guests in their garden!

Bye for now

Looks like my round again!

Hello All, how are we all today, great i hope, it was a very warm day today over here so have spent most of it outdoors, i took the steel mill out and did a bit on it, just some ducting pipework then we ran some trains. I put my entire collection of Bethgons on (all 24 of them) and ran them around and up and down the 3.25% grade with a variety of motive power, started with P2K SD60’s then some Athearn SD40-2’s and GP units, great fun now i have a complete loop, this is the last train of the day, the M1A returning with the coal empties

Is everyone ready for Friday???
