A few weeks ago I treated the counter clerks at our local downtown post office with homemade chocolate chip cookies. Good Friday morning, everyone. Looks like a pretty nice day on the horizon for everyone. We have a current temp of around 65, 66 degrees, going for a high of 85 today, with sunshine and less than a 20% chance of popup showers.
Coffee, and other morning beverages are ready, and the usual doughnuts, danish, bagels and bear claws are on the warmer bar.

Larry, depending on timing, you might see my truck today. Will be headed toward downtown Buffalo shortly (cringe, at least tandems are slid to 40-foot mark), then headed toward Milwaukee and MillerCoors. Come Wednesday, I get a short vacation, it’s county fair time.

Had a good day at grandmas today. Helped her get some things done for the family reunion tomorrow. I got to be the first one to sample her famous brownies![dinner] Yummy! Anyway, I figured I would drop in and get a bite of fish before me and Dad go to “OK” the new metal roof on our church.

Finally getting back in here: we had more computer problems today. Received a Windows Security Alert that our virus protection wasn’t on, and had no way to get it back. Spent over 2 and a half hours with technical support lady down in Shreveport, LA. Still don’t have the virus protection, and probably won’t have it until sometime Monday. So, we have to watch what sites we visit from now until then.
If anyone is around, I’ve put out some fish (cod and perch), along with some fries, hush puppies and mac & cheese on the warmer bar.
And for dessert, there’s ice cream, M&M cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.

had a good trip up here.we are in our hotel and they have a free computer here! we went to Durand and saw a non stop meet at the diamond.We walked around the steamfest(our tickets are not until tommorow).we waited and saw the 4449 come in from its all day excursion.people are trying to get in the hotel here and all the area hotels are full.Matt is excited for tommorow.time for bed another early rise in the morning.

I am back after a sign in problem. When I tried to enter the forum site, a screen told me that the site was not available. I tried the home page and accessed it with no problem, but the forums were unavailable. On the home page, I finally noticed, after several days that I was not logged in. I did so, and shazzam, I have the forums back. Odd… Anyway, mornin all. 71 degrees and cloudy in Carolina this morning, with a chance of lightning later today. Yall enjoy Owosso.
Good morning folks! CW hasn’t been in here yet, so I will take the responsibility of serving breakfast this morning. The coffee is about done brewing and we have orange juice ready for pouring. On the menue for this morning we have buttermilk pancakes, french toast, hot maple syrup, pork sausage links, bacon, hash brown potatoes and scrambled eggs.

Coffee, juices, and hot water for tea are ready. And on the warmer bar this morning: made from scratch buttermilk pancakes, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and cinnamon rolls and blueberry and strawberry muffins are all on the warmer bar.
Woke up at 6 a.m. to a thunderstorm rolling through the area. Looks like we’ll have a pretty good chance of storms from today on through at least next Friday. Our temp this morning is about 70 degrees
I hope those of you who went to Owasso have a great day, and take care of yourselves. Also hope those of us who couldn’t go, will have a great day, doing whatever you need to do today, to get things taken care of, and everyone take care and stay safe and sound!

68 degrees now and overcast and the potential is there for more rain to pass by here today.
Edit: It appears the terrible tire problem {of last year’s Indy Brickyard 400 race}, has been solved by Good Year. It’s being noted by several name drivers, Jeff Gordon, Stewart, J. Burton…several others they have run upwards of practice runs of 35 plus laps and tires are doing well…Last year, tires were failing or showing tire cords in less than a dozen laps. Seems tires will not be an item from faulty design…this year.
Tomorrow being the big outing of Nascar at the famous Indy 500 track, so we’ll hope it clears enough for that. Weather people indidate it probably will be ok for the race…Hope so.
Hear a train horn in the distance as I type…Probably over north of us just a mile on the Frankfort line of NS. Still think it is a bit busier lately.
We had a monsoon here again- got 1.5" in less than an hour. Today looks like it’s going to be a peach.

…Anyone see the program on Modern Marvels, “Truck Stops” last night…Pretty interesting. Surprised at the custom “cab additions” of comfort {almost like home}, for truck tractors available now.
Also, noted of the now available…dual fuel pumps for fueling an eighteen wheeler at some truck stops…fuel pumps at both sides to enable a faster fill up…and so on. Didn’t see all of the program, but what I did see was interesting.
One super Truck Stop having every conceivable product {for truckers}, and even entertainment…{theater}, and much, much more…

Rain cleared out around here by mid morning, then we had another mild thunder shower around 2:30, 3:00, but the sun is back out, and the rain is totally out of our immediate area.
I don’t know how many will be around here tonight, but I have fixed a few pizzas for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest:
And there are plenty of chocolate chip and M&M cookies for tonight, along with ice cream for us to have for dessert tonight.

It’s hot (from the low seventies in the morning to the upper nineties) and dry ( a little shower last night may have helped some) out here.
Last night was a noisy night as many celebrated the arrival of the main body of the Latter Day Saints on 7/24/1847. We have had a rodeo, a horse parade, other parades, and, yesterday morning, the Big Parade of the year.
I’m almost through with the house painting, with a little touching up to do here and there, and painting a couple of doors.

The “condo” sleepers are nice, offering most of the comforts of home, at the drawback of extra weight and length. They are also pricey, sometimes costing as much as the rest of the truck.
All the big “chain” truckstops (Pilot, Petro, TA, and Flying J) are set up with a main pump, and a “satellite” pump, avoids throwing the nozzle under the truck to fill the other tank. Had a comical episode at the Pilot in Carlisle, PA some months back, guy in a rental truck couldn’t figure out how to operate the pump, he didn’t know you have to turn on the main pump first, then turn on the satellite to fuel on the Passenger side of the vehicle.
If you ever get a chance to take I-80 out to Iowa, stop at the TA in Walcott. It’s listed in the guinness book of records as the worlds largest truckstop, with space for over 800 trucks. Have been there several times, and have not seen the entire place yet. I believe they have a website, search for ‘Iowa 80’, and you should find it.
At the house now, will be leaving shortly to go back to the truck, then up to Neenah, WI, to pick up a load for Alabama, should be back in Wisconsin Tuesday night if all works out well…
Still recovering from “relative overload”. One more day! Hopefully back to abnormal by tomorrow.
