I see we are having text wrapping issues still—[:-^] This page is going waaaaaay over to the right again–[:-^]

I am having a day away from the office as they fumigated it last night and me with my allergies do not get along with what they used–hence I’m on call from home today–I usually finish my on-calls on Monday–heeheehee[swg]

Today is starting out at 46F going to a high–so called–of 39F by this afternoon–in southwesterly breezes–this oughta be fun–[:-^]

Anyhooooooo----have a good one peoples!!

…It’s overcast and dry here this morning. Weather front passed thru yesterday afternoon thru late last night. See it is over on the western edge of Pennsylvania {home base for us}, now.

Noted 41 degrees earlier this morning here. Predicting 50 for today. Southern wind did a number on me yesterday…Leaves from the golf course {south}, and from neighbors big trees {west}, of me.

So…note, tomorrow is to be sunny and up to 57. For me that will mean John deere and I will work on the yard to mulch leaves and what ever grass is sticking up. It will take overlapping passes, but believe I can get it pretty well back in order.

Several days ahead to be sunny, but Thur. they say: possibly some rain & or snow flakes. Sure don’t like that 4 letter word. This weather front that passed yesterday sure did dump on the upper Great Lakes area…especially up and including Minnesota. Seen one figure on weather map this morning of 14"…! {Snow of course}.

So…Church next, than Sunday meal, perhaps to Olive Garden again, and then check the 2nd from last Nascar Sprint Cup boys race today.

Wish a good week for all…and Tom, understand, I had forgot you mentioned of the tests first. So best to you in success on the H. visit.

Well, the turkey breast is ready, and there’s already another one going for a little bit later. To go with it: mashed taters & turkey gravy, green bean casserole, broccoli w/cheese sauce and corn. Chocolate cake w/vanilla or chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable day, and wishing you a very good afternoon. Take care, and see you all later.

Long day. The two hour drive in each direction didn’t help any. At least the weather was nice, although I spotted ice on many puddles alongside the tracks even at mid-afternoon. It won’t be long before we can’t see the puddles for the snow…

I think a bedtime snack is in order (or some of that turkey, as a sleep aid), and then it’s bedtime.

Good Monday morning, everyone. Mostly cloudy and 33 degrees here in Louisville this morning. Think we’ll top out somewhere in the 50s again today. Then, later tonight, rain is due to come in, and it looks like it is going to a cold rain. Real nice for Tuesday Produce in the morning! (not)

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs or fried eggs, whichever you’d prefer, hashbrowns.

I heard an interesting “Coffee Quiz” question just a few minutes ago: What was Elvis Presley’s first movie?" Yes, I know the answer, but I won’t give it yet. Anyone of you know?

Mookie, here’s a cup of coffee for you. I think our sitting in the rockers, out on the patio or in the garden are over, until mid springtime, don’t you?

morning

cw I have a couple blankets if you want to sit in the rockers later this afternoon.thanks for breakfast.bedtime now.Things have really picked up and will be working some ot now through the rest of the year.

stay safe

joe

CW - Elvis - I think my girlfriend and I went to it - “Love Me Tender”? Think we sighed thru the whole movie and cried at the end! It really was sad!

Joe - 2 blankets here. I won’t warm up until next June. Glad to here you will be working steadily. I know this is always a concern.

Movin’ mah coffee to the hammock. It is Monday after all…

Good Morning.

We woke up to frost again–not as much as a few days ago but enough to say–“Hi! How are you? I’m Frost and I’m going to stick arond ntil my friend s**w shows up”

Audrey saw that one too–she thinks that has to be his first one–me–never watched any of his things–I was more of an Annette Funicello guy—[:-^]

I spent most of my afternoon yesterday trying to find a simple screwdriver–it was not where I thought it would be–in a toolbox–but I did find it–in a drawer by the bed[banghead] Why I put it there I will never know[banghead]

Anyways–I’m going to get a few things done today that needed done —yesterday[:-^]–have a good one people![swg]

Good morning. 39 in Carolina and suspected to get warmer later. For the past coupla days, I have been pain free, so think I will cancel the tests unless it comes back.

Here’s one for you auld timers. Does anyone remember Elvin Pelvin from the late 50s?

For now… Everyone take care

I don’t know how many time I can remember putting something where I’d find it when I needed it, but then not remembering exactly where that was…

The rain came through after dark, and we just missed a frost by about 0.1 degrees this morning. The paper says Indian Summer is about to end, though. We’ll just have to be thankful that we’ve gotten as much as a reprieve as we have.

On to the day’s activities!

Tom…I did not remember that name, but I see he {the name}, was associated with the former {50’s}, Sgt. Bilko program.

Our morning here is mostly sunny with some high thin clouds. Rather a cool morning, but to “warm” a bit by this afternoon, and as soon as it does, the John deere and I will attack leaves. {and grass}.

You got it right on round 1, Mookie: Love Me Tender was Elvis’ first movie. And Tom, your question: he was Joe Flynn’s second in command, right? Played by Bob Hughes. In about 20 minutes, McHale’s Navy will be locally on Retro TV on Channel 21.4 here in Louisville Metro area.

For lunch today, I’ve sliced some of the turkey from yesterday, and we have turkey open face sandwiches w/mashed taters and turkey gravy, green beans, fresh hot from the oven biscuits and dinner rolls (you get a choice of your bread).

Dessert: Yellow cake w/chocolate icing or chocolate cake w/white icing.

Our thermostat is set on 78 degrees, and I’m still feeling chilly here in the house. Need to put on a jacket and go out and collect our recycling bins from the curb.

Wishing everyone a good afternoon, take care all of you, and see you all later.

I was an Elvis fan along with Annette and Frankie and was at the right age (Annette is a year older) to enjoy all the songs & movies,

It really was a good time to be a teenager!

Quentin, you are on target. When Elvis entered the service, the guys who wrote YOU’LL NEVER GET RICH wrote in a character named Elvin Pelvin. We never saw Elvin, but he was assigned to Bilko’s platoon, and on his arrival, the females caused such an uproar that the army lost three men and a tank just getting him onto Fort Baxter. Col Hall promptly transferred him, relieving Bilko of his dreams of riches. Never have forgotten that show!

There certainly was a lot of hupla / attention /excitement, etc…around wherever Elvis was. In my opinion, he really, honestly, put his all into his music…and his performances showed it…!

And Jen, I too thought Annette was a gal with it all back then…And she certainly had a terrible downturn later in life…I assume she is still living, but know not what kind of health condition she might be living with now.

When I was doing automotive test work out in Az., Jean visited me several times and we managed to get tickets for an Elvis performance up in Vegas, at the {then} International Hotel. {1970}…

It included dinner and a record package {which I still have}, and a great, all out, wild performance. It seemed he performed for about 2 hrs. without hardly a break. And we really enjoyed it. A great stage full of orchestra and backup singers…Most of which we saw checking in earlier that afternoon.

And…10-4 Tom, on the Sgt. Bliko programs…

South Carolina’s Alvin Green, who came out of nowhere to win the democratic primary for U S Senate is at it again. Mr Green who is unemployed and who has a general discharge from the army, and who is under indictment on felony obscenity charges, was ridiculed and disowned by his own party before being thoroughly whomped by the incumbent in the general election, is reportedly considering taking on Obama for the presidential election in 2012. He has apparently learned very little over the past few months. He had no campaign, fundraising was less than $5,000 and he howled like a hound dog at TV reporters who tried to interview him. He could go places in DC.

Elvis came through Bristol on his way home to Memphis, on the Tennessean at Thanksgiving, 1955. There was a piece in the paper about his being on the train and that he kissed the hand of at least one girl–she said that she would never wash her hand; I wonder if it is covered with all sorts of things now.

I never saw many of his movies; I did not see much of one that I went to because I kept going to sleep (I had gotten up early that morning to catch a bus in Johnson City to be back in Bristol by work time). My then fianceé (who, with her family, was visiting her grandmother in Johnson City) decided that there was no use staying for the whole movie, so we left. No, we did not marry.

I was able to get most of the leaves that have fallen in the backyard chopped up this afternoon; I think the maple has lost only about half of its crop.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. Running a tad on the late side this morning. Not due to me oversleeping, but due to ISP being messed up this morning. Kept getting “Page Cannot Be Displayed” messages, on any and all browsers. Sarah got it back working. Thank you Sarah!!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Ceral, bacon, sausage, bagels, bear claws, and other breakfast menu faves are on the serving station. See you all sometime later this afternoon, and you all take care.
