Union Pacific 5 question Trivia. Winner gets a Chocolate Cake

Ok, I got a quiz for everyone. Since I am new here, I can be called the QUIZ MASTER. This first one is a test of Knowledge on the UP

1.) Union Pacific never retired FEF-3 Class 4-8-4 Northern Steam Locomotive #844. Does this or does this NOT make the Union Pacific 100% diesel?

2.) Is it true that Union Pacific placed an order for Baldwin Baby Face Centapides, then Cancelled the order Last minute?

3.) The Union Pacific ordered two versions of the U50. The U50 and the U50C, the frames came from What Locomotive?

4.) How Many Steam locomotives are currently in stored in the UP roundhouse in Cheyanne?

5.) The Movie that was supposed to restore a Big Boy locomotive, called Big Boy, was cancelled in Early 2000, What was the Engine number that was to be restored?

Thats all for know, for Doctor Klines Railroad Quiz

What about the Centennial. I am too tired to remember its number right now but isn’t it stored with the two steamers?

Here’s my guesses.

  1. no
  2. yes
  3. no idea
  4. 8
  5. 4018

no.1 WHERE THE HELL IS UP 844? BNSFnut.

Whoever answered “turbines” to question #3 is wrong. The FRAMES were made for the diesels as original equipment. The TRUCKS were recycled from the turbines.

It was either a trick question or a poorly worded question.

AWWW! This is like a 7 day ebay auction! How much is shipping for a chocolate cake? Do you take paypal? Can I return it if it sucks? I bid what everybody else said!

Great stuff but I have no additional answers. I used to quiz my fellow electric railway fans on what locos were used sequentially by five different railroads, but now they have all read the TRAINS article on the Virginian rectifier jobs and know the answer. So, OK, who manufactured the diesel engines used in the first Electro-Motive streamliners and in in their railcars after they went from gas-electric to diesel-electric? (NOT GM!)
