The hosebags are Narcorp High Performance Magna Lock Brake Lines available from Pacific Western Rail Lines, pwrs.ca.
How do you get the air hose disconnect? Bigger still how do you get them to connect?
Pelle is a true artist!! This is my favorite layout I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot!! It’s all about prototypical and details, I try to learn from the best. Definitely inspiring!
Yeah, the air hose uncoupling is a nice little detail on a layout filled with nice little details, but the best thing about this video is its name : Part 1 . . . meaning there will be more to follow. Great work, Pelle.
Pelle , is a master in scenery !!! Perfect job in all details !
Pelle Soeborg captures Mojave, Ca to a ‘Tee’. I live near Mojave and pass through the desert town many times on the way to Tehachapi, Ca.
The modeling is exquisite !
This man does beautiful work. I dare have one minor criticism, though (not specifically directed at Pelle), after all the money people are putting into diesel sound systems, does it strike anyone that in addition to the jet-like diesel sounds, it should be overshadowed by the clicking, creaking and squealing of the wheels? To me, those sounds far outweigh the engine noise because they’re the ones you hear longer as the train passes. Opinions?
This layout like so many other videos are dominated and overwhelmed by the sound of the locomotives through the whole video. If their trains were 3 miles long all you here as the caboose goes by is the locomotives. 99% of the videos are great. It’s just the locomotives sounds ruins the rest of the layouts beauty and themes, scenes ans etc. .
A great layout. Super modeling and very well filmed. He manages to create a feeling of big desert space on a small layout.
A suggestion on the sound. My wife and I used to videotape weddings and initially used the mic attached to the camera. We picked up sounds from the entire room. We purchased a wireless lapel mic, hooked up to the groom and only heard the voices of the bride, groom and officiant. A lapel mic could be placed next to the track hidden behind scenery or a structure and only the sound of the train passing the mic would be recorded. I haven’t tried this yet but it might work.
I hope I can model half as good as Pelle!
I thought the air hose separation was a nice touch!
once again his master abilities prove that even a simple oval layout can be museum treasure, Could you imagine when and if Pelle’s interest change from desert say to Northern California or the Rockies. I believe any project coming from him would have the level of detail and attention of these signature layouts, well done indeed!
Have been using his layout as a guide for my new layout. Would like to know the depth of the other side of the layout. Thanks! Keep up the UP image.
Ron Rosenberg from Wisconsin Pelle gets a lot done on his railroad in a hurry. Does he work alone or does he have help?
pelle is with out a doubt one of the top modelers today and in the top 5 overall all time and i have seen them
All…
My Goodness! What a wonderful layout. I really appreciate showing the entire layout at the end of the video. It shows what can be done in a certain “average” track layout. Certainly nothing average about the work done or presentation. Wow! Thanks for the inspiration.
Just inspiring!! Will be imitated over and over again… Great work!!!
That’s as good it gets! Fantastic modeling. Truly inspiring. You set the bar high my friend.
