Lets get WPF rolling guys.
A NYC East bound passenger train passes as NYC GP40 #3083 emerges from the Route 32 underpass on the BRVRR layout.
Post your photos and ideas guys. You always make this the best thread of the week.
Hey everyone,
Its that time again and here is my contribution. I weathered this engine for a customer and both he and I were tickled pink with the results.
Here is the other side of the engine.
Thats it for me. Hope you all enjoy.

Should have showed remnants of a good Turbo fire too! Nice job
That engine looks GREAT! Did you use oils?
Great stuff so far guys!!!
Charm will only get you so far, the same for good looks, but insanity will take you all the way![;)] With that in mind, here’s the latest trist of my brain. When on a railfanning trip I discovered that Lehigh Portland had is own cement cars, and they were 2 bay cylindricals, I had to have 1 or 2. The only problem,Nobody makes em!
So you take a 3 bay Trinity
Cut liberally [:O] (the worst part of the job)
Reassemble, then paint and decal! [:D]
Now on car was built by Athearn,I’m not sure about the other (cant remember!) But either way, I’m ok with them, now off for graffiti and weathering~~!!
Nice Work, Karl

LBF.
Great work everyone. All I have this week is I went back over all the staging tracks coming off the TT with black paint and cinders ballast.
Before
After
LBF?? [%-)]
I may be headed off the RIP Track, & towards the Asylum…
I challenged myself, added long hood lift rings, & Sunshades to a Z Gauge model. It still awaits paint, & decaling. The Photetch parts are from BLMA… The Loki is from Micro-Trains, the Penny from the US Mint…
Chad,
Nice detail work on a very fine scale. My Athearn Genesis Challenger arrived yesterday. What a brute.
Wilton.
Wilton,
That is one nice looking locomotive, in an Excellent setting, has the ‘WOW Factor!!!’
Also, I appreciate the compliment on the Z, I learned ‘small’ all over again… After a couple tweaks, I am eager to see it in paint… -Thanks!
Again, Excellent Photo!!!
That engine looks GREAT! Did you use oils?
No I used acrylics only and of course AIM weathering powders. I would like to use oils but currently have no way to vent the paint fumes so that has lead me to the other side.
Thanks for the compliment. The only shame in it is that I no longer own it.

Hey fellas!
Lots of nice photos so far. Bear, I like the B/W image, it looks vintage! Allan, nice! that’s how I remember seeing the Central from Grandma’s front porch! Terry, a classic view of the C&O cabin at Drummond! excellent weathering, Will! They weren’t that aged when I used to run 'em, but that was ten years ago! Karl, impressive kitbashing! I can’t see the cut! Curt, nice turntable shots, it’s nice to see someone else ballasts their yard with cinders, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve been walking RR yards since the 1960’s and I don’t remember seeing one yard ballasted with dirt, but a lot of modelers seem to do just that. Their steamers must run on earthworms! Chad, it looks good! My hat’s off to anyone who can kitbash a Z scale locomotive! Wilton, it looks like you’ll be having lots of fun. Nice loco and layout! Phew!, now here are my contributions for the weekend. We are finally nearing completion of the roundhouse project from the outside, now comes the detail work inside. Here’s a look at the recently ballasted roundhouse scene:
The MTH K4 on the right, 5086 was a recent Ebay purchase, it was kind of a mess, the previous owner stripped the tender and cab lettering, and removed the headlight. The cab and tender had that chalky residue on it, so I repainted it with polly scale brunswick green, and lettered and numbered it with microscale decals. I found a brass cal scale Pennsy headlight to replace the improper light it had:
Finally, I was kicking around some ideas about how to recreate the steam radiators in the roundhouse, and this is what I came up with. These are 1/2"x

Thanks for the kind words
Love the staples idea very clever
and your roundhouse is a great showcase for an impressive steam collection
Terry, I like that photo, too. All by itself, it sets the time and place and begins to tell a story. Well done.
I’m close to the end of Project Mooseport, the carfloat terminal.
From the center of the carfloat,
