New shops and houses on a lower level than the road. Bus stop on the higher path. I got the idea from a scene almost identical in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Thanks for another WPF, Peter.

This is one I’ve already posted before, but this building has become one of my favorite scratch-builds – mainly because it took so long and caused me so much heart-burn to get it finished. I originally saw a model of this, and I decided to scratch-build one myself:

Thanks for getting WPF going, Peter.
Thats a nice Switcher - I always like seeing End-Cabs.

I got some of my Chicago South Shore Models out of their Boxes today, mainly to see how they were running!!!

To have a bit of Fun, I coupled them to my Roundhouse ‘Hi-Cube’ Boxcars (about Cars) dug-out my CSS Cab and took some photos.

I think the GP38s have come from a MR Club in Glasgow, Scotland called Eastbank MRC

[Illinois Light & Power](Eastbank MRC Past Layouts

They are both Athearn BBox, undecorated, but have been painted and decorated for pre-Anacostia livery, with Grab-Irons and Lifting-Eyes added. I think the person who did this has made a very good job of them.

The Trucks are Ms instead of Bs, the Filter-boxes are Square-corners instead of Angled and there are no Ploughs fitted.
But I absolutely treasure them and will make no alterations, apart from improving their performance; Electrical Pick-up and Servicing.

Thanks for getting us going, Peter.

As many of you know, Dave had his plough sent to me after he had passed. It wasn’t just the plough, it was the whole train that he had been working on and the cars were in various stages of completion. I finally got the caboose he sent on the rails, it has a capacitor in it for the lights. Please excuse the lousy photos as I was trying to take them in the dark. I will get my daughter to take better ones soon.

Awesome work on the interior, @York1. No wonder it is one of your favorites.

Did not get a lot done this week!

Here is a Bowser N5 Cabosse that I painted for the Penn Central as I did not have very many (only one) PC Caboose. Painted with some Foquil Paint where I mixed Jade Green with some Dark Green so as to come close to PC Green paint, then decaled with Champ Decals. This was the original scheme for PC Cabooses which was changed pretty quickly to just Penn Central and the car number.

Last weekend I took a pair of Scaletrains SD40-2’s along with a train of various IPD boxcars with me to run at the club.

Have a great weekend!

Another strong textweekend already!?

Thanks for stepping up to the challenge, Peter :sunglasses:

I needed some distinctive spark arrestors that were used on the New York Central often. I had plenty of a flat-top kind but I needed curved ones. When all was said and done they wound up setting me back about $7 each! Well, our models deserve it, right?

Really enjoying the “Hopperesque” diner scene! Lots of great photos this weekend!

Got Milk?

I had a Borden’s butter dish car for quite a while and thought it looked lonely. Only one cure for that, adopt another! Now off to the paint booth!

The only minor modification needed was to replace that jeweler’s watch chain on the handbrake!

A fun, little project.

I installed this shed on the N scale Inglenook layout I’m building for my office.

It’s kitbashed from two printouts of a single-track shed kit. It’s removable to allow for track cleaning. The floor is built up around the track with two layers of cardboard, topped with a printed texture sheet on 250gsm paper. This holds the shed in place.

An new vignette on the Detroit Terminal Railroad circa 1983. I just posted an update video on Youtube that features a GTW Auto Rack run through, and a NW / Detroit Edison Coal Drag.

It may not look like much, but I painted the new track to the wood chip loader, sprayed a coat of Tamiya white primer on the loader, installed an under-the-table Bullfrog Switch Machine with a throw through the fascia, and even began ballasting around the turnout.

Nice photos, everyone. Thanks for opening Peter.

I’ve been overhauling my workbench. Now i have a 2 track 8 foot long test track that pulls away and back to hide long storage boxes under cabinets.

In the past few weeks I have been putting decoders in locos. Welcome me to the late 90s!

Not as yellow or bright as it looks

Above was the first and toughest dcc recipient, but a very special gift from my wife in 86. Dan
