Weekend Photo Fun June 27 - 29, 2025

Time for WPF. Sunday is National Camera day and what better way to celebrate than getting those lenses pointed at Model Railroading and sharing the images.

Thanks and regards, Peter

Thanks for starting this weeks WPF, Peter. The more i see your modelling the more I see, even in a repeat photograph.. Well done.

Two freight wagons from the 1950s upgraded. Both originally Triang, but now with new chassis framework, wheels and modern couplings.

NE wagon and a GWR one.

Thanks for starting another WPF, Peter. As always, photos of your layout are the perfect start to the thread.

This building is the back end of the Nighthawks cafe. An elevated track behind it doesn’t allow for a ground level photo.

Thanks for the kickoff to the last of June WPF, Peter! Great contributions as always!

I’ve had a few distractions this week which sidetracked the Everett Union Station project however I am beginning the tedious task of hand painting the stonework! Did I say tedious

One distraction was the arrival of the Broadway’s Pennsy B6b. I bought the stealth version so thankfully don’t have to trash the Paragon decoder. I got to work right away with what I had on hand. The ESU Bass reflex speaker was a pretty good fit alongside the TCS capacitor pack:

Checking out speaker options:

The stay alive capacitor and ESU speaker seem to be a good fit. BLI factory speakers are mediocre at best.

I got everything packed into that little slope back tender. The engine still sits on the programming track as I still have some configurations to do.

Another distraction was the arrival of yet another BLI GG1 to the roster. The recent threads at Classic Trains about GG1s has whetted my appetite and I realized that out of the eight Gs I already have I’m missing a Penn Central example. eBay to the rescue

While I’m on a roll, distraction No. 3! Mention was made of the old AHM/Rivarossi IHB 0-8-0 O scale kit. I had always wanted one of these and happened to stumble across this pristine example at one of the online retailers at what I considered to be a bargain price!

I don’t think the box had ever been opened! I’m really looking forward to digging into this one.

Every sub-assembly is packed in a separate box. Looks like it will be a FUN build!

Love your Trainmaster and passenger ops, Tom! Nice low-angle view, Jimmy! John and David offer great layout views. David, is that NE wagon bursting at the seams? Peter has the right idea for a warm June afternoon, drowning worms!

On to more great Weekend Photos!

Cheers, Ed

A Seaboard Coast Line freight out of Hamlet Yard is northbound through Aberdeen, N.C., in early 1976. On the point is SCL GP40 No. 1539 and runthrough power in the form of SLSF GP35 No. 728 that will pull this train to Richmond, Va., by this evening.

Ed. The Triang wagon is genuinely 50 years old. (and looks it).

There is a war on (1914 - 1919) everything is pressed into service. Fully loaded to help ‘the Boys at the front’.

David, Likely simplistic, but I like to think of your work as the quintessential British layout, full of charm and history. “A picture is worth a thousand words”, but rarely can they all be read in just one viewing.

John, A downside to our layouts becoming complete is the loss of camera angles.

Jimmy, Looks like ‘when autumn leaves start to fall’.

tompmrr, Liking the Trainmaster shot.

Ed, Wish I could find a fountain of modeling energy like yours.

DFF, Good looking scene with trees in bloom.

Heathmiester, The closer to scale the better and those couplers look good.

Thanks to all the contributors and viewers. Have a good week ahead. Regards, Peter
